Keyblade Master Xoncron 499 Posted March 2, 2012 I like some japanese anime, but I have to wonder what is it with the Japanese and foutains of blood?
Keyblade_warrior895 51 Posted March 2, 2012 i think i prefer Japanese Anime to regular cartoons, because there's no limit to the action in some of them 1 Mysteriouskeymaster reacted to this
Truthbringer 210 Posted March 2, 2012 Anime usually just have better stories overall... Western cartoons are usually just targeting kids... Even anime that has been dubbed for western audiences are targeting kids! 1 Larxene12 reacted to this

Keyblade King 12 486 Posted March 2, 2012 Anime usually has better overall plot for almost any genre. The animation is usually on a completely different level and anime is just awesome. It really is. People that are put off by it because of stuff like hentai and how it's Japanese are idiots. Anime is good! American cartoons are quite bad really. The only really good ones are comedies, the Americans just can't make a decent cartoon if it isn't a comedy or about comic superheroes.
SHADOWPAIN 66 Posted March 2, 2012 I love me some Anime. I like watching it with japanese voice actors though. It just sounds better than when english voice actors do it
Kaiso 2,764 Posted March 2, 2012 Since when is any anime bad?.... OH trust me, I can think of a never ending list of BAD anime. But yeah there are a few that I actually do like. :U 2 Ivan and Shana09 reacted to this

Godot 513 Posted March 2, 2012 I like it~ I really hate the art style in most anime/manga though, especially yaoi. FACES DON'T WORK THAT WAY
Dave 5,715 Posted March 2, 2012 I'll be honest: I don't like anime in general. There will be a five minute session of stone throwing after the show. The primary reason is the animation style. By and large, it seems stiff: the bodies and limbs look very much like parts of a puppet that will not move unless provoked, rather than truly having any life behind it. The motions aren't as fluid as they could be, especially with faces: they're usually very static and plain, not conveying a lot of emotion at all. Speaking of faces: this is a gross exageration, but the majority of anime characters look exactly the same, or at least have multiple dopplegangers, only with different haircuts and clothes. It just feels uninspired often. Storyline wise, while I do applaud anime for marketing to a wider age group, I personally find the stories either too cute/insane or too, for lack of a better term, brooding. It just feels the same after a while, and I think that's my biggest complaint about anime in a nutshell: it all feels the same, once you get down to it. Commence stone throwing. 3 Ivan, Kaiso and Godot reacted to this
Rob 5,571 Posted March 2, 2012 It comes from Japan, meaning it shits on overseas cartoons.
King Riku 2,063 Posted March 2, 2012 I love Japanese anime. English is just way too childish, especially if it's a dub. Except Fruits Basket. I just...No. Commence stone throwing. If only I had a stone...
Oishii 3,987 Posted March 2, 2012 I don't watch a lot of anime, but I do like it from time to time. Each cartoon style has its positives and negatives, but I thoroughly enjoy the cinematic quality of anime and the attention to detail. The stories are broader than American cartoons, but I'm very picky which is why I don't watch it a lot. They can be outrageous sometimes, but that doesn't destroy my profound respect for the art form. 1 Kaiso reacted to this
Weedanort 8,786 Posted March 2, 2012 I'm not much of an anime guy. Sure, I like to see some animes, like DBZ, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh and such, but it really doesn't appeal me. Like many other people, I have other things to do than stay at home all day and night watching anime.
dusk 910 Posted March 2, 2012 Yes, I actually love anime. I actually don't watch almost anything that just anime these days.
AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted March 2, 2012 It depends on what it is. I usually enjoy animes that are mostly plot-oriented but still include ass-kicking, like Evangelion and FMA.
VoidXName 346 Posted March 2, 2012 I like anime bc it will go a bit deeper than a punch line every minute like most cartoons (dont get me wrong, I still like some cartoons and of course love humor). But I don't watch a lot of it, mainly bc I don't have time and I'd rather be doing something else in my spare time than watching anime. Also it seems that a lot of shows tend to recycle the same plot and multiple series repeat the same story. But there are a few really good animes that I've seen, that I really liked, like FMA, Death Note, Fooly Cooly . But the best, absolute BEST, and I don't really even consider it anime, more like "classic animation", is anything made by Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli!!! And to anyone who says that only Japanese can make good anime, well Avatar the Last Airbender was probably one of the best shows I've ever watched. And btw they were inspired by Hayao Miyazaki and they all watched Fooly Cooly before making ATLA. I'll be honest: I don't like anime in general. There will be a five minute session of stone throwing after the show. The primary reason is the animation style. By and large, it seems stiff: the bodies and limbs look very much like parts of a puppet that will not move unless provoked, rather than truly having any life behind it. I actually agree with you. These are all of the things that bother me about anime too and why I probably don't watch anime, except Studio Ghibli, anymore. DragonMaster 1,166 Posted March 4, 2012 I am indifferent. If anything, I always saw anime as somewhat overrated (though I find Japanese Pop Culture as a whole overrated, except maybe JRPGs). I was just never able to enjoy anime that much. Early Pokemon anime was decent (Hoenn and before), and I use to like Yu-Gi-Oh (the seasons that had Yugi as the main character), and Avatar the Last Airbender was awesome (I know that it isn't real anime, or Japanese for that matter, but it was anime styled). Otherwise, I just haven't seen anime that looked... interesting. Full Metal Alchemist, Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, didn't like any of them to an extent where I would want to watch them on a regular basis. So I was basically neutral to anime, but all the love for it that I see just makes me feel that it is overrated. But whatever, I have weird and specific tastes, so it is probably just me. Oddly enough, I like anime style art, due to the high detail. Higher quality art is always better.
Kishira 2,854 Posted March 4, 2012 I used to LOVE anime when I was younger. Not so much now though. But I don't hate it. Alot of the plot in anime's tend to be really overly dramatic and insane(emotionaly/physically/etc), it gets old after a while. And the voice acting for the female characters! Good god, WHY must they sound so high pitched, squeaky, and overly enthusiastic?! Honey, you do not sound cute, if anything, it makes me want to shoot you in the face. >
Zenithia 305 Posted March 5, 2012 tutti frutti. To me it more so depends on what it is. I usually try to check out the manga online or in a book store whenever I have some spare time. If I like that manga enough, then I would try to watch the anime. There are some anime that I find to have its ups and downs. But I find anime to be there for enjoyment here and there.
