Tails 6,692 Posted March 1, 2012 An unnamed source at Wii U Daily told the republication that Wii U will retail for $299 when it arrives in NA sometime after E3 this year. Nintendo will apparently price the Wii U at $299 in the U.S., 299 Euro's in Europe, and 20,000 Yen ($250) in Japan. Nintendo has previously stated that they will try to keep the pricing in-line with both Xbox 360 and the PS3 Source: http://mynintendonew...0-yen-in-japan/
Arya Stark 1,337 Posted March 1, 2012 Wii's aren't meant to be hardcore gaming consoles I don't think, so this better be worth it...
phantomhive 26 Posted March 1, 2012 If its $299 it doesnt sound that bad considering the graphics that its supposed to have and of course that there trying to make the WIIU a third party game friendly console as stated in last years E3 so i think thats pretty good , hope it turns out to be true http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png 1 Zenithia reacted to this
darkchaser 788 Posted March 1, 2012 well if this comes out for $299 then i wonder how much the next playstation and xbox will come out for. Also for $299 i might consider buying it sooner than i normally would

I might even pre-order the console if it comes out at this price. 1 phantomhive reacted to this
Venterrqua 85 Posted March 1, 2012 if its $299 seriously doubt it will be 299 euros as europes 1 euro is worth $1.40 or somewhere near there so around 240 in Europe and £200 in GB

Loki 1,184 Posted March 1, 2012 Nintendo cant really afford to make their consoles more expensive. Making their consoles accessible to younger people and families is almost a trademark of theirs.
axel91 161 Posted March 1, 2012 $299? wow, that's a lot cheaper than what I thought it would cost. But is the source reliable?
Spiney 125 Posted March 1, 2012 That's not really too bad compared to what it could be...>> the Wii was 250$ when it came out...i think?
Weedanort 8,786 Posted March 1, 2012 299 € in Europe? Now that's a bit too much.
SHADOWPAIN 66 Posted March 1, 2012 Thats a great price range for me. I would definately get this sometime at launch if it turns out to be true
Mirr0rVS13 169 Posted March 1, 2012 I knew it'd be this price. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png Anything higher would just hurt Nintendo. Wii's aren't meant to be hardcore gaming consoles I don't think, so this better be worth it... Could you say that about their previous consoles? Or are you one of those whos jumped on the bandwagon of "Only casuals buy Wiis"? http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png 1 lizzie1238 reacted to this

lizzie1238 538 Posted March 1, 2012 Sounds very reasonable. I doubt it wil be $50 cheaper in Japan though. Maybe 25 000 yen.
Junko 2,815 Posted March 1, 2012 as expected for a new gaming console but the price will go down eventually

Zenithia 305 Posted March 3, 2012 tutti frutti. Assuming that the source is reliable, I find that far better than the price of when the PS3 first came out. $300 is so bad for a Nintendo console, since I find that they do a pretty good job in keeping the prices of their consoles reasonable. If I can, I'm going to pre-order the console and look forward to that Zelda game that was on demo for it.
