Wii U to be $299?

Recommended Posts

An unnamed source at Wii U Daily told the republication that Wii U will retail for $299 when it arrives in NA sometime after E3 this year. Nintendo will apparently price the Wii U at $299 in the U.S., 299 Euro's in Europe, and 20,000 Yen ($250) in Japan. Nintendo has previously stated that they will try to keep the pricing in-line with both Xbox 360 and the PS3

If its $299 it doesnt sound that bad considering the graphics that its supposed to have and of course that there trying to make the WIIU a third party game friendly console as stated in last years E3 so i think thats pretty good , hope it turns out to be true http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

Yes, this seems like a reasonable price for Nintendo to put for their next console. I might even pre-order the console if it comes out at this price.

Nintendo cant really afford to make their consoles more expensive. Making their consoles accessible to younger people and families is almost a trademark of theirs.

I knew it'd be this price. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png

Anything higher would just hurt Nintendo.

Wii's aren't meant to be hardcore gaming consoles I don't think, so this better be worth it...

Could you say that about their previous consoles?

Or are you one of those whos jumped on the bandwagon of "Only casuals buy Wiis"? http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png

I'm not saying that only casuals buy Wiis

I'm saying that not a lot of hardcore/popular games came out on the Wii, and if they did they also came out on ps3 or xbox

tutti frutti. Assuming that the source is reliable, I find that far better than the price of when the PS3 first came out. $300 is so bad for a Nintendo console, since I find that they do a pretty good job in keeping the prices of their consoles reasonable. If I can, I'm going to pre-order the console and look forward to that Zelda game that was on demo for it.
