Introvert or extrovert?

Recommended Posts

I am an introvert. I tend to be very quiet and keep to myself a lot.

What about you guys?

Just in case you are wondering this is a definition of introversion.

The common modern perception is that introverts tend to be more reserved and less outspoken in groups. They often take pleasure in solitary activities such as reading, writing, using computers, hiking and fishing. The archetypal artist, writer, sculptor, engineer, composer, and inventor are all highly introverted. An introvert is likely to enjoy time spent alone and find less reward in time spent with large groups of people, though he or she may enjoy interactions with close friends. Trust is usually an issue of significance: a virtue of utmost importance to an introvert choosing a worthy companion. They prefer to concentrate on a single activity at a time and like to observe situations before they participate, especially observed in developing children and adolescents.[7] Introverts are easily overwhelmed by too much stimulation from social gatherings and engagement. They are more analytical before speaking.[8]

Introversion is not seen as being identical to shy or to being a social outcast. Introverts prefer solitary activities over social ones, whereas shy people (who may be extraverts at heart) avoid social encounters out of fear,[9] and the social outcast has little choice in the matter of his or her solitude.

And here is a definition of extroversion.

Extraverts tend to enjoy human interactions and to be enthusiastic, talkative, assertive, and gregarious. They take pleasure in activities that involve large social gatherings, such as parties, community activities, public demonstrations, and business or political groups. Politics, teaching, sales, managing and brokering are fields that favor extraversion. An extraverted person is likely to enjoy time spent with people and find less reward in time spent alone. They tend to be energized when around other people, and they are more prone to boredom when they are by themselves.

I am an introvert

I am a music composer, song-writer and a lousy singer.

I love spending heaps of time with myself on the composer or my piano

It makes sense, and I agree with you beadprincess :)

But Naught is also correct, there will be persons who are not defined introverts or extroverts and will tend to be in the between.

Introvert. And since it's relevant to something that floated past my dash on tumblr a while ago...

I can’t say ‘I don’t bite’. If you break any number of these simple rules multiple times, especially within a short amount of time, I am liable to bite. Metaphorically speaking. I’m friendly, not necessarily your friend, especially if you are not being respectful. I’m not shy when I just have nothing to say. And some types of people just tend to annoy the hell out of me. But no matter how much they do, if I like even the smallest thing about them, I will tell them otherwise and deal with the annoyance until I’m immune to it.

There are actualy classes of introversion and extroversion, but I don't remember what they are. Stupid psychology, not sticking with me...

It's not really that I'm introverted, it's just that I'm usually not interested in the people around me. I'll mingle and everything, I'd just rather do my thing my way.

I act like an extrovert even though Im an introvert. Theres actually a book about how society discriminates against introverts in most western cultures. Its pretty interesting.

Definitely introvert... More so while I've been in high school.

http://16typequiz.com/quiz.html This is a pretty in-depth thing about how introverted/extroverted you are, and other stuff, if you wanted to try it. ^^;

Introvert

I used to think that I was extroverted but extroverts thrive from hanging out in large social groups while introverts thrive bein alone. Introverts can spend time with many people but need time to themselves a lot while for extroverts it's the other way around

I dunno... I don't seem to fit 100% in neither of these two...

Until last year, I could surely say I'm introvert, but not now..

I love to write, spend some time alone as well, thinking about what's happening...

But since this month, I've been making lots of friends, and I love to spend time with them. But again, it's not a big group of people, just around 7.

I took the test and it said this:

Introversion: 26.67%

Extroversion: 73.33%

Intuition: 45.45%

Sensation: 54.55%

Thinking: 48%

Feeling: 52%

Judging: 40%

Perception: 60%

But I dunno... Maybe I'm extrointrovert? haha. D:

Half of each one, maybe

No, no no no no no

You made me remember this. :P

From X Factor Australia:

Introvert, Extrovert, Doesn't Matter:

But to answer your question, I am an introvert... I think. I show characteristics from both introversion and extroversion. But I am pretty sure I am more introvert.

to be honest, i thought this thread was about this

It really depends I guess. I am mainly a Introvert around my family often by myself but at school i'm a extrovert often talking with everyone and trying to do as much as I can.
