Robbie the Wise 5,050 Posted February 23, 2012 I was gonna post this yesterday but didn't. It was bull how they tried to make it out as a first time thing this was stuff like that is always repetitive. They should have made them run for three days without food or water. Either way a child's life was lost needlessly unacceptable.

Junko 2,815 Posted February 23, 2012 9 year olds don't know better, especially when it come to lying about eating candy. what a sad world we live in when some adults can't think straight
Keyblade King 12 486 Posted February 23, 2012 Reads this. *Looks at Cinderella* And you thought your stepmother was a bitch! But seriously, I mean, how can people really do this without any thought of consequences? Are they seriously that stupid? Most fully grown men wouldn't be able to run three whole hours without a break. Even most athletes would have problems with it. But a nine-year old girl?! What are people smoking these days!? 2 Static15 and P50L reacted to this
lizzie1238 538 Posted February 23, 2012 Since she ate candy, they probably made her run so she wouldn't get fat.
VoidXName 346 Posted February 23, 2012 I don't get it. Why do people have to abuse children, harm, kill children? What is wrong with people?! This pisses me off so much. It seems like incidents like these are happening more and more all the time.
Keyslicer 1 Posted February 25, 2012 Okay that is truly sad and cruel and many other words that should not be written or spoken in person. Seriously people these days are downright psycho, P-S-Y-C-H-O
Amon 4,279 Posted February 26, 2012 Walking through the halls of my school makes me wish parents still had the balls to spank their children (hard), wash their mouths with soap, and put ice down their backs. Declining and declining test scores over the years just shows that parents have gotten soft.

Yes yes you are right,, So a suitable punishment for eating a forbidden candybar should be to run for three hours till you die. Yes that punishment fits the crime ..Really ? Theres no way to justify this punishment that this child endured.. We arent talking about a smack on the bottom or grounding here .Shes dead ,

Emo/Yami 37 Posted February 26, 2012 Actually, depending on other circumstances, this isn't child abuse. For example; what was the weather outside at the time? If the kid ate the candy bar knowing she wasn't supposed to, then lied about it, why the hell did she actually run for three hours? Were the step mom and grandmother chasing her? Important questions that need an answer.

Making a child run for three hours Nonstop with no water is excessive and very much indeed child abuse. Why else do u think her stepmom and grandmother are getting charged? If you think this isnt abuse please dont ever have children.. 1 Robbie the Wise reacted to this

If you think this isnt abuse please dont ever have children.. Did the girl ask for water? If she did, then yes its child abuse. Also, unless her stepmom and grandmother were chasing her or threatening her in some way while near her, then they didn't "make" her run. She ran own her own free will. Plus, she most likely didn't truly run for three hours, probably part of the time, but not the whole three hours.

To an outsider it is not cut and dry but I have seen the inside of it. First of all the punishment is way over excessive (For eating a candy bar lets get real here.) thats like me cutting an line at an amusement park and getting banned for life. This case has signs of repetitive abuse which becomes easy to reconize after you seen it so many times, what suggest this to me is exatly what you pointed out. The fact that she listened to them and ran for three hours tells me a she was afraid of what would happen if she didn't and be that she was used to this kind of treatment. What also suggest that it was abuse was that fact they did not priveide her with any replenishing nutrients after the said punishment these two women were obviously taking their frustrations out on this girl I've seen so many times it's really a sad thing when you intentionally hurt a child. 1 HarLea Quinn reacted to this

If you read the article you would know this punishment was indeed forced not voluntary and the neighbors who reported this even said she was indeed running for 3 hours. 1 Robbie the Wise reacted to this
Emo/Yami 37 Posted February 26, 2012 Yes yes im sure she ran till she died bc she wanted to ..Are you serious? If you read the article you would know this punishment was indeed forced not voluntary and the neighbors who reported this even said she was indeed running for 3 hours. That's not what I meant. What I mean is she ran of her own power without the ones punishing her directly "forcing" her to. If she was scared of what her step mom and grandmother could do to her if she chose not to run, but they weren't directly behind her chasing her or hitting her or something like that, then she wasn't truly forced to run (which isn't really possible). Its her mental state when it comes to her step mom and grandmother that made her run. Her neighbors didn't really find anything out of the ordinary about what she was doing. Only one even had a whim that something was wrong(out of the ones interviewed). Trust me when I have done interships within the divison of youth and family services and this is indeed child abuse. It is possible they attempted to give her water after her return. Remember, the media isn't given all of the details of these incidents, nor do they print all of the facts that they do have. A person should be able to run for three hours without severe damage to the body. She didn't die on the spot, it was a while after the run she had a seizure and died in the hospital. I do believe the two women in this incident should be charged, but not with murder unless they find effective evidence to suggest that was the intent. Manslaughter and/or neglect are much more realistic charges based on provided information.
