Final Fantasy X, I'm up to Spectral Keeper. Please help me in preparing for the final battles.

Recommended Posts

Playing FF X. I'm up to Spectral Keeper. I've heard that after you defeat Spectral Keeper you can't go back and you can't train any more.

So I'm asking for some help in preparing for the final battles. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have your overdrives maxed and ready to use. Haste is also your friend. Spectral Keeper attacks the 3 platforms in front of it, so move your characters if they're in harms way. Personally I stuck to using Yuna and Tidus and switched between Lulu or Auron. After you beat the Spectral Keeper:

You have to beat another boss. I'm not sure if you can train in between the two fights, but after you beat the other boss your free to train before the Final boss

Start with a party of Tidus, Yuna, and Auron, and equip everyone with armor that has berserk ward or berserk proof if possible.

Cast Hastega immediately, so the characters can move out of the way. Move 2 characters behind spectral keeper, and leave the character with the most HP in front to keep the monster distracted. Get Yuna to cast protect on the front person, and let the front person attack. Spectral will counter-attack, and try to berserk you. Watch out for Glyph mines, and try to avoid them, because if you get hit by one of those it means certain death. Aeons only have one attack when summoned, so make sure their overdrives are full so they can inflict as much damage as possible.

Good Luck :D

You can. Once you defeat him, you can descend into Zanarkand's Fayth, and end up fighting another boss. You can train between the two, and even after, I've done it myself because I couldn't beat it in one shot, or two, or three.

Thanks for the help guys.

But I really need to know is there anything I should do to prepare before taking on these battles? Other than max out the overdrives of course.

Before taking on these battles, go to the Monster Arena, get the capturing weapons, and use them to defeat enemies. If you complete these tasks, you get rare items that can be used to make your weapons powerful. I thought they were just money-earners, so I sold them. Also, see if you can get the Magus Sisters.

Nah to get the Magus Sisters you need to have every aeon, but you cant get Anima untill you have the airship, which you get after you defeat Yunalesca. So to get the Magus Sisters you first need to defeat the next boss xD

You've still got a bit left after the Spectral Keeper.

Try to leak Tidus and Auron into each other's sphere grids. Teach them both Zombie Strike and Hastega. If you can, teach Yuna/Lulu/Rikku Holy. I found those to be extremely effective against the final boss.

You can try mental break and follow up with black magic/holy

You can use provoke with one of your characters to receive the damage instead of the others(i am not so sure about that)

Also good luck ,whenever i replay ffx and fight this battle i always found myself in a difficult position, its a pretty hard fight but with the right strategy you can definately kill him ;)

1. Have all your characters (and if possible, your aeons) with full Overdrive gauges.

2. The next battles ARE NOT the final battles, but they can be VERY challenging if you're not ready.

3. If at all possible, see if you can get Yuna to learn Holy. It's helpful and powerful, but not neccesarry either.

4. Have high HP, and prepare your healing items and Yuna as your white mage.

5. Have a TON of Holy Waters.

Wait, which one is spectral keeper? If you could describe him, I could help. I don't really know all the bosses names though.

Spectral keeper is the dragon boss with the circles and you had to move (Change circle) to avoid some of his attacks.Sorry if my description is not clear, but you can google it for more information.
