animemylove 439 Posted February 9, 2012 As we heard from the latest interview a little while back, a big part of this game will be based around the phrase "darkness becomes light, light falls into darkness" from what you can see in the box art Mickey has a desperate look as he tries to catch Sora while he's falling and Riku is seen staring up into the heavens behind him. Could this be proof that Sora will fall into darkness as he tries to withstand the memories of Roxas, Xion and Ventus like Namine predicted in Re:Coded? What do you guys think? 4 P50L, Robbie the Wise, KingdomKatherine and 1 other reacted to this
bambii 34 Posted February 9, 2012 Been thinking this for a while. It's not unlikely, and perhaps even necessary in order for Sora to confront the many hearts that are supposedly seeking refuse within his - to fall inwards. Riku's role in subsequent titles may be even more important than it'd previously been. I'm excited. 1 Kello reacted to this
TheKingdomkid 1,194 Posted February 9, 2012 i think that just shows that you know how you will be switching between sora and riku in the game, i think that just shows that its time to play as riku and sora is just well dropping or napping idk what they do when you swich lol
Azure Flame 670 Posted February 9, 2012 Personally, I don't think so, just because Sora has been the posterchild for Light in this series. No matter what has happened to him, his Light prevailed, even becoming a Heartless didn't dim his Light. I think it would be a bad move if Sora, who has shown us how strong the Light can be, would fall to Darkness. 8 TheApprenticeofKingMickey, Matthew, Kello and 5 others reacted to this
Kishira 2,854 Posted February 9, 2012 Well he did tell us to expect the unexpected.....so if we're expecting Sora to fail.....maybe something completly different will happen. >3>

TheBucket2 114 Posted February 9, 2012 Maybe that's the "shocking" ending. Sora using dark powers. Eh, who knows. We'll just have to wait and see. But I will agree with what everyone has been saying; the phrase is definitely shown in the art. Personally, I don't think so, just because Sora has been the posterchild for Light in this series. No matter what has happened to him, his Light prevailed, even becoming a Heartless didn't dim his Light. I think it would be a bad move if Sora, who has shown us how strong the Light can be, would fall to Darkness. This makes me take back what I said... Although, look even closer, you can see that Sora's eyes are closed (his pose is even similar to when we see someone going to their Dive to the Heart) and Riku's are open. Maybe instead of Sora falling to Darkness, necessarily, he'll fall even further than the Dream worlds and begin a sleep within his Dive. Maybe that's where he'll meet and "help" those connected. Ven, Roxas, maybe even a ghost if Xion. 1 Kello reacted to this
Kinode 3,056 Posted February 9, 2012 http://andriasang.co...kingdom_hearts/ "Continuing with the mysterious responses, Nomura touched upon what he wants to do with Kingdom Hearts 3DS and the themes he hopes to convey. Regarding the things he wants to do, he said 'A KH you can touch, a falling Sora, and a flying Riku." Regarding themes, he said "Trust." More specifically, he said that the game will show how by trusting others, you achieve things that you just couldn't do on your own." Herm, I'm guessing Mickey and Lea will touch upon trust. Tsunamo 62 Posted February 9, 2012 I don't really think so, people that aren't big fans probably wont look at it as spoiling the game because they probably wont know the tagline or look into the coverart and its meaning that much plotwise. Besides that, we don't really know the circumstances for Sora falling into darkness or what Mickey will do to try to save him. If anything it leaves more mystery to it, rather than spoiling anything. TheApprenticeofKingMickey 3,689 Posted February 9, 2012 I think of this as more of a sacrifice. Like Azure Flame said, Sora is the poster child of Light. My assumption is that Ventus, Roxas and Xion's memories will be a lot to digest for him. I think he'll be so hurt and understanding of their pain that he'll do everything in his power to save them. And by letting Ventus, Roxas and Xion exist on their own again, he will fall to darkness with the effort. I don't think Sora will ever succumb to darkness. Even if he falls to darkness, it will be the effort exerted to save to those he believes should be saved and those he cares about that will ultimately make him end up there. Edit: And think about this. Nomura said it's always hard to bring back Sora to Level 0 at the beginning of every game without a legitimate excuse. Perhaps this is it. Sora will fall to darkness and he has to get out of it in KHIII. Obviously, these are assumptions but they are (to myself) the most plausible assumptions. 7 PrinceWatermelon, Akihiko, Kishira and 4 others reacted to this

Beta 102 Posted February 9, 2012 I think I might be completely wrong here but don't you think maybe it has a connection with why Mickey was in the Realm of Darkness in BBS FM's secret episode?

VentusRoxas 73 Posted February 9, 2012 I think I might be completely wrong here but don't you think maybe it has a connection with why Mickey was in the Realm of Darkness in BBS FM's secret episode? I was thinking similar to this. Yes, Sora has been the poster child for the realm of light. If Sora falls to darkness wouldn't it be like Aqua in bbs, she fell into darkness but didn't succum to it. Iamkingdomhearts1000 1,170 Posted February 9, 2012 I think a tragic end to Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance might happen in order to continue the story on in Kingdom Hearts III since i think it kinda gives off that feeling among all of the light and cheery feelings in the game compared to the dark and broody feelings of Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep but i really, really do hope that Riku is not the main, primary protagonist in Kingdom Hearts III since i want that role for Sora and Sora alone, i mean yeah like Roxas in Kingdom Hearts II who was only the main, primary protagonist for the beginning of it, if they were to do the same with Riku i don't mind as long as they get Sora to be playable for the rest of Kingdom Hearts III soon afterwards and hopefully will both Sora and Xehanort meet for the very first time ever and the conflict that is meant to happen between them WILL begin and who knows what the outcome will be? Ventus_XIII 50 Posted February 9, 2012 Maybe their suppose to switch role. something happens to sora and he falls. or maybe he needs to so he can bring back the others
lizzie1238 538 Posted February 9, 2012 Sora is falling and he has his eyes closed, like he's sleeping. Riku is wide awake and not falling. Mickey is reaching for the falling Sora. I think this may mean that Riku makes it out of the dream world but Sora becomes trapped there. 1 Kello reacted to this
Matthew 74 Posted February 9, 2012 Namine predicted that in Re:coded/coded? I didn't remember that! then again its been a while since I did a whole playthrough of that, and I did only ONE! BUT NO,doubtful, just because its un-reasonable and a bit TOO shocking.its just UN-likely. Sora is falling and he has his eyes closed, like he's sleeping. Riku is wide awake and not falling. Mickey is reaching for the falling Sora. I think this may mean that Riku makes it out of the dream world but Sora becomes trapped there. For goodness sake people ITs JUST BOX ART,I don't think it has any meaning to it >_< just you wait... you will see when KH:DDD comes out...

Yeah, the only time boxart sorta mattered was how the heart-shaped moon in the KH1 boxart was revealed to be Kingdom Hearts in KH2. 1 Matthew reacted to this

Wolfgang 735 Posted February 9, 2012 "So many are still waiting for their new begging, their birth by sleep... even me, and even you" (Ansem the Wise) For some reason i feel this just really connects to KHDDD
KingdomKatherine 272 Posted February 9, 2012 Yeah!!! I was thinking the same exact thing!! There is Riku looking up into the light, and Sora is falling into the darkness.
Wolfgang 735 Posted February 9, 2012 And I just noticed that mickey & sora is wearin the same thing! hmmmm That is what King Mickey wears regularly, and each Riku and Sora get new outfits. Its interesting though how Sora gets a outfit that is mostly red... Red is a color with one of the highest emotional hues. It could mean passion, action, blood and life, self-will, etc. It could also mean the "energy" to change or innovate our life. Its very interesting.
