Deadshot 666 Posted January 31, 2012 I don't buy used games I like to support the developers making the games but i understand why people buy used games.
Khrulesbbs 574 Posted January 31, 2012 For ps3 used games are as good as new because it takes a lot to screw up a ps3 blueray disc
Leaxel 178 Posted January 31, 2012 I only buy used games when it is a present for a friend(to save some money of course). I don't buy used games for myself, to support the developer of course.
AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted January 31, 2012 I'll occassionally buy used. It's really only if I kind of wanna play the game, but not for sixty bucks.

Queen Tery 4,591 Posted January 31, 2012 i like to support the developers, too. i typically pre-order and buy games new. but, if its an older game or they only have a used copy then i buy that.
lizzie1238 538 Posted January 31, 2012 Many used games are too expensive. If there's only a $5 difference between used and new, I'll buy the game new. If the used is a lot cheaper, then I'll buy it.

Tsunamo 62 Posted January 31, 2012 I only really buy used games when they're old ones and hard to find, along with being in decent condition. I also don't really think they hurt game developers much despite what people say, they already have had a sale from the used copy of the game in the first place, so I don't really consider them lost profit to the developers. For everything else I like to buy them new and unused because I like to try and keep my games as mint as I can for aslong as possible.
Uncle Dolan 963 Posted January 31, 2012 If the store only has used or it's a bigger discount ($10), I'll buy it used. And also, there's a way you can get a new copy of a game you broke for the low cost of free. I'll be making it into a thread and then link it once it's up in this post. EDIT: It's up!: http://kh13.com/foru...y-via-gamestop/
Ligh in the Darkness 29 Posted January 31, 2012 I buy used games for ones that aren't available. As long as they are lower priced but in good condition.
Zenithia 305 Posted January 31, 2012 tutti frutti. I will buy used games if I get into a series that I haven't played before, to save money, or if the game is hard to come buy. I will buy new games mostly to support the developers of the games if I like the series well enough. Though I mostly go to gamestop myself for used games for in case I don't like the game for whatever reason I can take it back for something else. Kelvy 60 Posted January 31, 2012 I only buy used games when someone in my family gives me a GameStop gift card, and GameStop almost never has the types of games I'm looking for (though I did get Eternal Sonata there once :'D). 1. I hate used games. They're usually in bad condition. Though if the game is very old and is no longer in print, then I'm forced to buy it used. 2. GameStop is probably the only game store that I know that sells used games. And I don't like to support them because they rip people off >_>.

Think Pink 1,967 Posted February 3, 2012 Honestly I wouldn't want someone else's game. I'm one of those clean freaks who would prefer to have my own copy, touched only by myself or my brothers. 1 Sora96 reacted to this
Sora96 17,256 Posted February 4, 2012 I'll be the odd one out and vote for "No". A lot of the companies lose money, the store selling it ends up making quite a bit of money out of it. I'm sure consoles don't like playing used games. Comparing time: Person holds food and damages food in the process. Someone purchases the food. Person who held the food is getting a bargain while the purchaser gets bad food and wastes their money.
Deadshot 666 Posted February 4, 2012 Only for older games which are hard to come by. This is the only reason to support used gaming and buying games that out of print. In the future we won't have ability to buy used gaming since it will become digital media like what steam is doing now. Another thing bothers me about people who buy used are the ones who complain if the game as online pass and since they bought it used they should have right to it.Which makes little to no sense. Then there's one who say developer/publisher wants money "Developers are employees of studios that are funded by publishers. Whether or not developers "should" or "want" to make money (and trust me, they do), publishers MUST make money AND see returns, or they will not make similar investments in the future." People can buy used if they want but they have no right to complain about their used copy missing something from the new copy. 1 MarluXia777 reacted to this
