KH3D Sora's Braggng

I Don't know if there already is a post like this, but it maybe has some kind of part of the plot of the game in it.

In an earlier post I made, I said that I was thinking about the epic ending and one of my thoughts were: that Sora didn't pass the Mark of Mastery test. I have heard some other people also say this.

 

Today I was watching the Tokyo Game Show trailer when I got irritated again by the bragging of Sora. Then later on I was thinking about it and realized that Nomura never does something without a reason. I think and hope a little bit that Sora will be defeated (that will cool his bragging). I really really hope that somewhere in around the middle of the game there is a down point where Sora is defeated. Riku then will still fight at the moment Riku also nearly loses Sora will hop back in and still pass his test with Riku. This would be awesome, because the bragging of a super hero isn't a good thing and Sora will still pass the test.

I was also surprised by Sora's little, "No one can beat me! >8D" in the TGS trailer....but, I dun want bad things to happen to him because of it. I lub joo Sora. But it would be interesting to see what happens. O3O

Sora turns to the darkness and KH3 is Riku, Mickey, and Aqua (who came back from the Dark Realm, duh) on a quest to defeat the darkness that once was the key of destiny.

I don't see it as him bragging myself. If he were bragging he would make it sound as though he were better than everyone, which Sora would never do. I think what he's expressing is his determination to overcome any obstacle. Sora has strong self-esteem, which is not a bad thing.

I want Sora to fail the exam and Riku to pass it even if Sora is my favorite I just think it would be more interesting if it happen like that it's time for Riku to be in the spotlight for once.

Oh please, that was the caption by the magazine. Those captions are always extreme like "Sora thinks he's superior to Mickey?!!!???!!?!?!?!11?!!?" They're always like that, but it doesn't mean that is what's happening.

I would actually be very uncomfortable with any kind of heel turn regarding Sora. What makes KH one of my favorite games is that Sora as the protaganist is just, well, nice. So many RPGs and games feel that they must have some kind of anti hero, or heavy angst, or make things edgy in one way or another. And very rarely is it even necessary, in my opinion; it seems to be edgy for the sake of being edgy. Sora is a hero you can root for, because you know that he would bust his tail to try and save you, or anyone else in danger, and do it for the right reasons. His positive energy is what makes him unique in a post modern world that hates anyone who is happy, and to tarnish that would really hurt the entire franchise. So I'm going to hold out hope that any kind of bragging or bravado is just an assertion of ability and expressing confidence.

tutti frutti. When I saw that I had the feeling that it may have been a trait from Vanitas, mostly since he always had that overconfident attitude until the end of BBS. Though I understand Sora's determination and willing to take on any and all challenges that come his way, but at the moment he should go through something that would teach him about failure and ways to prevent something like that from happening again.

That's pretty much Sora's problem - so if Riku loses his little problems then so should Sora do it as well.

I don't think that Sora will fail the exam in the end - however during DDD there is part where (near the end?) it seems like it and then in a klischee´d way Riku will help him and then something happens that will bring us to the "surprising end" - tada.

Kinda makes sense since he pops up in the time when Mickey was still...well, green. I pretty sure all these translations are making his comments seem a bit more arrogant than it really is, but it would be pretty interesting if they did play against his confidence.
