Why the hype over KH3?

Recommended Posts

Some consider any game thats not on a main console a side game.Heck i call them side games..However, i also pointed out that i consider them just as important for the many reasons i already stated and i sure as heck played every single game in the series and think it'll be firetrucking hilarious to see all the lost people who didnt deem them important

It's also not even hard to see the games without playing them. It's called YouTube. Wallthroughs? Video productions? No? But then the people are like, "O NOES ITS NOT THE SAME AS PLAYING IT". Gee willy, then buy the systems? No money? That's the real world, you don't get what you want. Like how you don't get KH3. Sell your bodies on the streets? Mickey would be disappointed.

I think that's my only complaint to them. People just make things harder than it seems lol.

To be honest, I've been wondering this too. I don't know what the big firetruckin' deal is with KH3. According to annoying YouTube users, they say that Square Enix is milking the series dry, rant about how they hate it, that the people who buy the handheld games are idiots who grovel at Square's feet and aren't true KH fans, how KH3D and BBS are just filler titles, they want a game on an uber powerful console with realistic graphics, etc. It's so annoying. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png

Dost thou know why KH3 hasn't come out yet? Because the KH team is working on Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Would you rather wait 6 or more years for another installment in the series (for this "KH3")? I didn't think so. BBS and KH3D are on-par with KH and KH2 - they are console-quality titles. Shouldn't that be what you want? Does it matter if the game is displayed on a giant firetruckin' screen? No, it does not. These so-called useless games have been adding to the story, making it more awesome and complex, and gaining new fans from different platforms. Rather than tell Nomura to rush and give us KH3, we should tell him to take his time. I wouldn't mind more handheld titles if they added to the storyline and made the conclusion of KH3 that much more satisfying.

Don't get wrong, I'm as anticipative of KH3 as the next guy, but some people are just so firetruckin' ignorant. Firetruck. Ambulance.

Okay, I know that Birth by Sleep doesn't have a number in it's title, but for all intents and purposes it is Kingdom Hearts Zero. I believe that Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories (or Re:Chain, if you prefer), Kingdom Hearts II, and now Kingdom Hearts 3D to be the major games in the series, with the others serving valid gameplay and storyline purposes, the weakest of which (storyline wise) was Re:Coded.

I am eager for Kingdom Hearts 3 for one reason: To know the truth about the mysteries in the story.

Not that I want this game to end but I want this series to continue with fresh stories, one that Nomura doesn't make up as he goes along. I think my biggest issue about the series is that, there is no plan ahead. I think it is a story-as-we-go-along type of story which I hate.

And who said that KH3 will reveal any mysteries? Seems to me that all the games bring about answers to old questions, and new questions to be revealed later, or already revealed in other games. But they can always end the series like LOST. Leaving many questions unanswered.

I really dont think the story is made as they go along. Everything seems too consistent. Granted they may have changed a few details, but overall it seems to me that it was all planned out.

I've stopped waiting for KH3 for 2 years now. You have to understand that the team that worked on KH1 and KH2 is busy with Versus XIII. If DDD is anywhere as good as BBS and Days were, then I'm very satisfied. I love how these games are adding to the story. Believe me, I do want a KH3, but I still want to play DDD before I play KH3. Besides, I would just love to see the look on some players' faces when they play KH3 and have no idea what's going on because they skipped several important games. Then people like me will say "Don't blame me. You should've played the other games (or watched youtube walkthroughs) when you had the chance."

Nope I totally disagree that this was all planned out. Why? because there are bunch of holes in the series, if I put list of them, it would take me ages to do. There are things left unexplained and perhaps, never got to explain. Another reason is that, game developers aim is to take people's money. Do you think they'll stop making them if this game makes them cash? No, so Kingdom Hearts for them is a gold mine and they'll keep adding stuff to the series whether you like it or not. No person can flat out plan a game series that could last 20 years.

I am eager to see KH3 in hope that questions will be answered. It has been a nightmare for me to understand the series and I know some people agrees with me.

Since KH3D is coming out, I have to live with that for now. I don't think any of the KH games are fillers. I think it is up to individual to decide. And I am totally satisfied as to what KH has been.

Look, if they wanted to, they could release all the games on one or two systems, not 5. Furthermore, re:Coded was entirely empty and unnecessary. I care almost as much about BBS and DDD as I do about the numbered titles. That goes for CoM and Days to a lesser degree, as well. Story-wise, they're all fantastic and incredibly relevant. The part that bothers me is that they divide them between as many different game systems as they possibly can. And I really don't think any of them (the ones that matter story-wise, at least) should be on portable systems.

For many reasons, most of which aren't really "justified" and only make sense to those with similar thinking:

1. Because a different team makes the numbered titles.

2. Because a number seems to make a game more important.

3. Because they just need their games on their home consoles because "Lulz handheldz suk. im gonna go play a gam on mi consle later n00bs"

4. Because the first KH games were on Sony consoles, Square Enix is a Japanese company, Sony being the main Japanese videogame company that's not Nintendo (because Nintendo is "just so childish with colorful graphics and cute characters"), KH attracting fans of Japanese products due to its highly anime-esque graphics. Basically, this leads to fans of Japanese products, which include PlayStation and KH, along with number 3, leads to people not accepting any KH game that isn't on a "true" console, which is made by KH's "true" company.

5. People just like to complain. Fans especially like to complain. Complainers are more vocal than those who aren't complainers.

6. The TL;DR mentality people have (because it is just so hard to actually read something, right?) means people tend to ignore logic, which takes a bit more than a sentence or two to express most of the time.

7. People think the console titles are better, even though Days and BbS both had better story than KH II, and BbS and Re:coded both had better combat/gameplay systems than KHI (and arguably KHII). *This one is more my opinion*

Yeah, generalization and all that. But really, plenty of people fall into at least one of those categories.

EDIT: Oh, thought of more.

8. Because consoles have better graphics. While true, KH is so stylized it will look virtually the same as it did on PS2, only with less jaggies and hopefully less blocky-ness and fishmouth. But really, look at DDD, it is the best looking KH game yet.

9. Because it has been so long since KHII. 6 before releasing a game with a III at the end after the one with II. Again, its the number=important and console>handheld mentality.

I think it would be really funny if KHIII is not actually called KHIII. Like maybe called KH: Rise of Darkness (just a random title, I know it isn't that good), would be hilarious, me thinks. I will also be laughing when people who refuse to play the side games get really confused.

Well, not many people really care about the side stories... Besides you're not the only one, i was just recently talking to a friend and replied back to me as like this on youtube:

yea man i saw a few of them, looks really sweet just kinda disappointed that its for the 3DS and its another branch-off...id just like the next game in the actual storyline to come out

Besides, Tetsy won't be working on the final saga to KH3 anytime soon until he gets FFXIII verseus and some other projects off his shoulders. So, let's hope luck onto that.

I did want to mention that I am VERY glad I didn't skip BBS and Days becuase those two (along with KH2) are on my list of top 3 KH games. Seeing as how satisfied I am with the series, I'm in no rush for KH3. As long as the name of the upcoming game is Kingdom Hearts, I'll be excited for it.

tutti frutti. KH3 is definitely a game to look forward to, along with any game/series that are deemed with greatness by our own standards, but the truth is that it will get here when it gets here. To me the only game that felt unnecessary was re:coded, but even so all of the games have their own handful of information to help us better understand on what's going on in the series, such as somebody missing, defeat of a character, gaining abilities, etc. When I first got my hands on KH2 I expected the game to pick up where Sora and co. were in the pods. Though when the game started with Roxas I was like "Whose this guy?" and KH2 revealed some on Roxas, while KHDays revealed the rest of Roxas and what he went through leading into KH2. Much like a number of others have stated, if we didn't youtube/play the games ourselves we would be lost on what was going on in the series. Plus if KH3 was rushed, then the game as a whole wouldn't be nearly as good as what we would be expecting it to be. And then those same people who are complaining about not getting KH3 would be complaining about not getting a great/amazing game in their hands.

Dont forget Days..It answered Questions about Roxas, Axels friendship with Roxas and bond with Sora due to Roxas and even Axels and Isa's friendship being destroyed and what led to Axel going rogue and why he was acting the way he was. Also it showed us why Roxas left the organization.. How and why Riku took Ansems form...Because of this, i consider Days to be just as important

Guys, great idea.

I suggest Kingdom Hearts 1.314159. This game will explain the details of how Sora's adventures in the grassy plains, exploring the dangers of little thin pieces of grasses as he fights with Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. The game will last all the way up to getting to Castle Oblivion. Ah man, that game will just be sell out. I can see it already being better than KH3. I mean, it's a number title, it's got numbers in it. Who's with me?

Because Nomura teases us. You know how epic BBS, KHI and KHII are. Add the fact we've waiting since 2005 for KHIII, along with the secrets endings and what do you get? Impatience and dismissal. I guess some people aren't as bothered by the teasers as the majority of the fandom is.

It is because people these days think they are worthless to the series. It is sad they did not even give a chance to Birth by Sleep and probably not even to DDD.

I just cant wait to see their posts during or after Kh3 story xD

I agree with both of you. BBS, KH, KH2 Were epic and important. But 7 years and we still waiting for kh3....Isn't that a bit too much?

lol. See this is my whole point. Its been 7 years and we've had 3 games, soon to be a 4th. So we can't complain, there have been games in that time period. They just dont have a number on them.
