KH3D Kingdom Hearts 3D soundtrack to be released on April 18

Update 2: Square Enix have created a placeholder website for the album. The website confirms all of the information we have learnt, that is, the April 18, 2012 release date, and the ¥3,800 (approximately US$48.86) price tag. It plays the Kingdom Hearts 3D version of Dearly Beloved in the background. Also, Famitsu have posted an article with what appears to be the cover art, or at least a placeholder cover art, of the album. You can view this below, in our gallery. 4Gamer.net have posted the cover art, but without the watermark. Enjoy!

Update 1: Square Enix have added the soundtrack to their e-STORE.

The soundtrack for Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance has been announced to be released in Japan on April 18, 2012. It can already be pre-ordered on Amazon, at a price of ¥3,800 (approximately US$48.86). It is a 3-disc soundtrack, where songs from Yoko Shimomura and also from The World Ends With You composer, Takeharu Ishimoto, will be avaliable. Thanks to Exodaze from KH13 and KHInsider for the tip.

Same here, just read about it a while ago. So this isn't really new to me. But anyway, can'ty wait for the soundtrack. Hope it's as epic as the other KH game's music we've heard so far^^.

Why would they post news they don't have a source to? It took over a year for the BBS soundtrack to get released, and the rest of the soundtracks took at least a couple of months to get released. I doubt that the DDD soundtrack would get released in less than a month after the game is released. Until an official source is named I, I wouldn't trust this. Whenever the soundtrack is released though, I know that it'll be epic.

Edit: Never mind, they posted a link in the thread as a source....but it's not on the homepage. Okay.

What Space Cowboy said.

And anyway, BBS had a pretty extensive soundtrack, and it only took up two discs. Sure, some of the extra Final Mix ones were thrown on the third, but still...I doubt 3D would have THAT much new stuff.

One thing that should be noted I suppose is that this is the 10th anniversary of KH, so maybe Nomura and SE are deciding to be nice about releasing it that soon :)

It's also quite possible that the soundtrack could be included in the 10th anniversary box.

Not likely since the 10th Anniversary box will be released on March 29th. But this is good news as Nomura won't be lame and just give us music for the magic box xD I think I'll get the soundtrack even though I won't be playing the game until the NA release :P

haha pretty true yeah, but I was thinking more along the lines of "Hey KH fans you can get the soundtrack with the box, or you can wait and get it on its own"

but, despite all the technicalities, it's coming :)

hopefully

I wish the soundtracks weren't so expensive. I saw the days/bbs/coded one at an anime/game store and I couldn't buy it because I only had $30 on me at the time. I think they should be max $30.

Well, a rumor is a rumor. Nothing more nothing less. I don't see why they can't release the CD soundtrack along with the game and 10th anniversary box. Seems like a great idea if you ask me.
