Men vs. Women

Recommended Posts

OK I guess I'll put my 2 cents point this thread.

I'm a woman so I am fragile or too weak card

The whole "Oh I'm female and since I'm weak and all so very fragile so I need help and can't handle things myself." Come on now it's 21 century women have become to have power and stand strong. Women have also become independents in many ways but still there are so many that play "I'm a girl so I'm weak card" way too much in all honesty.

I mean for example, I go to college and our college is a two floor building, You would be amazed on how many females I see waiting for the elevator. I'm like "OK so you're telling me that you can't walk up two flights of stairs to get to class so you wait 30 seconds to a minute for the elevator which you could have been up the stairs in less then a 30 seconds?" That's just being lazy. Now granted I do see some guys do that numbers of times. But it's almost most of the time females.

Men and women intelligence

The whole "Men are stupid and women are smart or vis versa bullcrap" I can say pisses me off. Let me tell something both and women are just as equally smart or stupid, trust me. Sometimes I'm amazed on how stupid of question or w/e I have heard from either party.

I swear one thing that some women which I find extremely stupid is this. Say you're in a place near a heater, could be in class or the bus w/e and you're hot. You put down the window some, not too much just enough to get a cool breeze. And then some girl has to say this ever.single.time. "Put the window back up it isn't summer." Oh really!? I didn't f****** know that!? O_o I thought the stuff falling form the skies and landing on the ground was just cotton. And the ice cold breeze was coming from a super giant fan from the sky. Thank you for enlighten me Miss captain obvious. :D

Thing a guy says that I find stupid is like anything wonder why women would be made you. You said something out of place moron. You can't think of some girls as one of the guys some are very sensitive. Thinking oh were really cool so I can say this. No, no I have done that before when I was younger and I learn that no some things shouldn't be said.

Men only want one thing

OK now this stereotype has been said so many times. But the sad thing is there are guys like that. But to bunch ever single guy like that because of maybe a past relationship or what you hear from your friends or what have is bull. There are plenty of men that no alternative motive to wanting to get to know a girl. Wanting to get to know cause he likes her, Enjoying her company. Sometimes sex is far from my mind. Granted that like ever human in the world that has gone through puberty, urges do come up. But we learn to hold them back and fine a "ways" to get rid of the sexual tension. Also there are women who want just sex as well. It's not only men trust on that. Women can be just a sexual as men, or more.

Putting hands on each other

Alright now these topic I want to say is that no it's not right hit women. But if it's self-defense it's ok. Just hitting her because you're mad or some crap like that is not acceptable. And the same can be said for women.

Now me I'm gentleman, I hold the doors, let ladies go first, treat them with respect, never put my hands on them, and if I do anything wrong I will fully apologize.

edit: I like to touch or more things but I think some things have been said. But still I think I said for what I can say at the moment.

amen dude

I'd just like to point a couple of things out:

First, women are not yet treated completely equally to men. There's still some discrimination in the workplace. When going in for an interview, she might get asked her marital status, whether she's pregnant, and get denied if she gives the "wrong" answers. If a woman tries to "act like a man" in the workplace (e.g. she's a manager and gives firm orders, fires those who aren't doing their jobs properly, etc., just like a male manager would do), she's generally not admired for it, but seen as a b****, because apparently women are supposed to be nice and care about people's emotions all the time, and not about whether the job gets done.

Another thing that a lot of men don't think about (I didn't even think about it until it was pointed out to me, and I'm a woman) is that it's almost impossible for women to go out at night, and therefore get night jobs. If a man goes out alone at night, his biggest fear is usually just being mugged, if even that. If a woman goes out alone at night, she has to constantly watch her back, because she could be mugged, raped, and/or kidnapped a lot more easily. In the eyes of many, if a woman goes out alone at night, she has to expect to be taken advantage of by a pervert--after all, it's her fault for being so stupid as to not stay home after dark, right? Some people (which includes lots of women, who do these things subconsciously) don't even realize how much women have to avert their eyes from men to avoid an unwanted confrontation, make sure they dress "properly" in public (because if her dress is just a little too short or tight, someone might think she wants to be taken advantage of), etc. I could give lots more examples, but do you kind of see how women's daily lives are still so drastically different from men's? If a woman wants/needs that night shift because there are no other jobs available for her, she's putting herself at far greater risk than a man would be if he took on the exact same shift.

Also, along the lines of what Goddess Koko said, feminists generally want equality for all (including people of different races, sexual orientations, disabilities, etc.), and not for women to dominate men. There are some extreme "feminists," and these are the ones who get the most attention from the media, and therefore give feminism a bad rap. It's funny because most American women will say stuff like, "I'm not a feminist, but..." and then they say the believe pretty much all the stuff that true feminists believe. But, like I said, there are so many misconceptions about feminism, so most people don't want to associate themselves with it.

I consider myself to be a feminist, but I'm not offended by what you said, because pop culture portrays feminism as a bad thing, so most people don't know what it truly is. I thought feminism was a bad thing before I learned its real meaning and intentions. It just happens with most people.

So, I don't entirely disagree with what you said, and I'm not mad, I'm just hoping I was able to broaden your perspective a little. :D

This....and also women still only get 75% of the salary a man would get for the same job and same experience/ qualifications...This is a FACT. People should be paid equally regardless of gender... Also alimony can be paid to either spouse based on WHO was making more ..Men get alimony too.. There are also plenty of men ( not all) who are deadbeat dads who dont think they should pay the mother of their children child support as if she made those kids all by herself. There are women who are deadbeats too but there are far more men . Anyone who has custody of the kids, father or mother should receive child support..Just like if a women made more money during the marriage she would be paying Alimony..Look at Britney Spears ffs..... There are a lot of stereotypes going on in this thread and im personally offended at the ignorance of some people..

So we were talking about military in US History today (studying WWI), and I learned two things. First is that women aren't forced to sign up for the draft; and second is that they don't put women into combat. For the first one, I suppose it doesn't really matter, since I doubt the US will do a draft anytime soon. Though, I still see it as unfair. Second thing, that is really unfair. So it is okay for men to put their lives at risk for their country, and not for women? I am sure there are some military women who do want to go into combat, and some who don't, same for men. At least give those that want to the option, no matter the gender. :

There is a reason for this.. and its not bc women dont want to. The military feels that men tend to want to risk their lives to protect women and if there were women on the front line it would be a distraction and possibly causing more casualties..( according to the military that is) I grew up a military brat . Furthermore, there are some situations where women are in combat such as female fighter pilots..Women didnt ask for this policy , it was put upon them.

I'm going to dispute this one. Women are allowed to do almost anything in the military, with the exception of infantry. Women can be Military Police, truck drivers, Civil Service Officers, and the special women's negotiations. These are ALL combat roles, and there are even more I didn't list. While I agree we should be allowed to serve in infantry, too, for now we're really not very restricted. A girl can do basically anything she wants.

Also, on the issue of the draft. That was written up and extremely long time ago, before women fought. There's no point in changing it now, though, because we don't plan on calling on the draft again, or at least not for a very long time. It's pointless to change now, basically. And on a certain level, if both the mother and father of a child/children are fit for the draft, how fair is that to the child? But, again, this is kind of a moot point considering we won't use the draft, so it doesn't matter.

The thing is with drafts is that those rules were and are made by men, not women. If you think about it I'm sure you can think of why. Spoiler: it's not discrimination to men. (and as stated before me, there's no point in changing it now if the USA no longer wishes to draft.)

I didn't say women asked for the policy, I said that it was rather unfair that they are forced to follow it. And that men want to risk their lives to protect women, well I would hope people would be willing to risk their lives to protect someone regardless of gender. Whether or not women are a distraction, I have no clue.

Valid point in the top, I should have been more specific in my post. To the bottom, I believe I already said that I knew that there it was highly unlikely they would do a draft. As my History teacher put it, "I doubt the have the guts."

Yes I can, and yes I know.

I hope people realize men and women are equal soon enough...

I've had a few experiences with the whole "man shouldn't do this and should do this" shit.

Last year (backstory is long and complicated so I'll skip the details), a girl basically was talking shit about me and all in my face. I said something back to her, and next thing you know she's hitting me in the face and shit. I shoved her away so she would stop hitting me and she fell onto the ground, and I'm the one that almost got expelled. That pissed me off so much. I did nothing to start the fight, I didn't even hit her and the principle wanted to kick me out. I agree that abuse is wrong, but abuse can go both ways.
