kalnet 1,198 Posted September 14, 2012 Wii U Will Let You Plug A Three Terabyte Hard Drive Into It While the Wii U only has between 8 and 32GB of internal storage (depending on your model of choice), Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime, says that you can plug your own three terabyte hard drive into the console if you want to.Fils-Aime shared: “The reason we did it that way is that the cost of that type of storage memory is plummeting. What we didn’t want to do is tie a profit model to something that’s gonna rapidly decline over time. We’ll let the consumer buy as much as they want, as cheaply as they want.”Source : http://www.siliconera.com/2012/09/13/wii-u-will-let-you-plug-a-three-terabyte-hard-drive-into-it/ I say this is a very good plus. Like the PS3 and the Xbox 360 Slim, you will be able to insert a bigger hard drive storage into the Wii U.
Hei 3,233 Posted September 14, 2012 I wonder how much game data will take up, hopefully it's pretty small. That being said, first game I'm getting is Pikmin 3, the enviorment is so realistic

Spectrum of Life 188 Posted September 14, 2012 I'm gonna get you, standard edition! I was pleased with the modular data storage.(900 GB, hohoho!) I wish that people will chill out over Bayonetta 2. SEGA screwed PG over massively with Anarchy Reigns, so it was either make the shift or get kicked in the moneybags repeatedly until the company keeled over. They can't catch a break. King Riku 2,063 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) We think that Wii U’s price points are appropriate given likely demand from Nintendo’s core fanbase, but believe that pricing will be too high to sustain demand given current competition from other consoles and tablets. In our view, Nintendo was smart to introduce the Wii U at higher price points in order to maximize initial sales from its core audience. We expect 1 – 1.5 million Wii U units to be shipped into the US by the end of GameStop’s fiscal year (January). We expect demand from Nintendo’s core fan base to remain high through the end of its March 31 fiscal year. Once initial demand begins to subside, we expect Nintendo to lower prices. We don’t expect a price cut until summer 2013, at the earliest, but do expect a cut prior to holiday 2013. Any prospective price cut will depend largely on competition, which we expect to materialize in the coming weeks. Source: http://www.nintendol...e_cut_next_year So what do you think? Could the Wii U get a price cut like the 3DS did? I don't plan on buying one anytime soon, it's a lot of money. I do plan on getting one eventually though, so if a price cut comes along, even if it's a small one, that's probably when I'll get mine. EDIT: This has nothing to do with the actual system since it's not confirmed, it's technically a theory. This is the reason I didn't post it here in the first place, I really think it has nothing to do with a topic that tells you things about the system we know to be confirmed. Tails 6,690 Posted September 15, 2012 A number of readers have emailed to say that GameStop is expecting limited amounts of Wii U Premium consoles in the United States. Several store managers have told people that the Premium is limited due to stock, and that they are gonna stop accepting pre-orders for it very soon. The Basic set would be the only one available to pre-order when that happens. One of the store managers said those that are interested in the Premium package should pre-order it now. Kirux 1,224 Posted September 15, 2012 There's nothing on it that I NEED TO PLAY yet. It wasn't until the special edition 3DS for LoZ 25th anni that I even got a 3DS, and still only have 2 games for it.

Tails 6,690 Posted September 15, 2012 It's been in the OP since I posted it, looks like you didn't bother to read it. Then you won't be playing any Wii U games until most like 2013.... Shame. You can't spare an extra $50 for a game and some awesome bonuses? Well, now that the Wii U is sold out in pretty much every store I don't think I'll be able to buy a Wii U at launch. That, and also the fact that there are too many games coming out this year that I am buying. there's Resident Evil 6, Assassin's Creed 3, Pokemon B&W 2, and Paper Mario: Sticker Star that i need to buy first. Then there's next year when I'll be getting Luigi's Mansion 2, Sly 4: Thieves in Time, and Metal Gear Rising: Reveangence. So I'm not sure when i'll have the time to save $350.00 for a Wii U. The earliest i can see myself saving up for it would be in march 2013. Plus, the Wii U will be really hyped when it comes out so it would probably be best for me to wait until all the hype fr it is down. Though if I hear about new stocks of the Premium package then I'll reconsider and save up for it. Though I am hoping that the Wii U has a great library of Wii U games. because I remember how hyped the Wii got but didn't have a very good library of Wii games. That's what I am mostly worried about because Nintendo don't really bring a lot of 3rd party support for their consoles. I don't want the Wii U library be full of games that you can also get on other platforms.
