AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted January 21, 2012 Name: "Resident Evil: Revelations" Platform: Nintendo 3DS Developer: Capcom Rating: Mature Players: 1 DLC: Most likely not Release Date: Japan- January 26, 2012 Europe- January 27, 2012 United States- February 7, 2012 "Where am I?" A good question, Jill. You begin the demo in a rather elaborate bedroom, which Jill describes as looking as if she were in a mansion (and even admits to some deja vu...). After finding the key to your first puzzle, you're also "treated" to your first enemy. These BOWs (called the Ooze) are unlike any kinds you've encountered before; they're more human like the majini, although they lack coordination and real strategizing ability. They more swarm you, which is all they need to do in the cramped corridors of the ship. A few rooms later, you find the Item Scanner. Essentially, it acts as a dowsing machine. You aim and scan, the machine revealing hidden items around the room. Another newer feature is the ability to move and aim simultaneously, introduced in Mercenaries 3D and returning in both Operation Raccoon City and Resident Evil 6. And this ability is a wonderful addition to your arsenal, allowing you to round the corner so you can at least see when you will be mauled. The demo introduces you to not only the handgun, but the shotgun (a survivor's best friend) as well. Again, jabbing opponents with your knife is fun, but I found it predictably unreliable. The real fun of the demo comes in when you choose "Hell Mode" after finishing the demo once. If you finished Resident Evil 5 on Professional, you'll find yourself putting on your big-boy boots again as enemies become twice as strong as items become terribly scarce. Even worse, the enemies change position. Near the end of "Hell Mode", I ran out of ammo. I had no Green Herbs. The screen was bleeding a deep red as Jill clutched her abdomen, and an Ooze nipping on my heels. This was easily the most stressful situation the demo had put me in. Iknew that of I made it to the elevator, I would be saved and the demo would end. I had just opened the door, when... Five Ooze piled out of the elevator, knocking me to the ground. Jill propped herself up on one elbow, firing the three shots I had left before pulling herself up. I promptly ran for my life, backtracking to scavenge for ammo. I found just enough to kill the Ooze that were in my way, although I had to put myself in a terrible situation to ensure my accuracy and power. Those who played Mercenaries 3D will find themselves right at home with Revelations, as the control scheme is basically the same. Even veterans of Resident Evil 5 will find it rather easy to re-hone their survival skills. So what do I think of it? Well, I already set my phone to go off on February 7th at 10am. And I don't have school on Tuesdays... All-in-all, Resident Evil: Revelations brings a full Resident Evil experience to the 3DS, and is even a main-series game. Played the deom? Leaxel 178 Posted January 21, 2012 Good preview! I really can't wait for Resident Evil 6!
Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted January 21, 2012 I played the demo, and I wanted to give a 'preview' for it, but it seems you beat me to it. Still, I like your review, and agree Revelations will be a great game.

Sora96 17,256 Posted January 21, 2012 How long is the demo approx? I've downloaded it but I've hardly played it yet.
lizzie1238 538 Posted January 21, 2012 The demo was good, but I don't think RE games are for me, because I have such terrible aim.
AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted January 21, 2012 How long is the demo approx? I've downloaded it but I've hardly played it yet. On both Normal and Hell, it took me maybe an hour or so. But I really took time to poke around. I played the demo, and I wanted to give a 'preview' for it, but it seems you beat me to it. Still, I like your review, and agree Revelations will be a great game. I tend to be pretty quick with these things.

And what's up with that? I've never been limited to the number of times I can play a demo. Not to mention that by the time you play it 30 times, the full game'll be out anyways. Nermal 12 Posted January 21, 2012 I just dont like limitations....And i will never beat demo with those 30 plays.....Each time i die i turn off the game to have a break....And i wont buy full game so having this demo with limitless uses would be great.....
