August had arrived just in time to watch the house get crushed under the massive weight and impact of the meteor. "Something tells me that this isn't a coincidence," he thought. "Ya think?" Vaan retorted sarcastically. First things first, August needed to check and see if there was anyone nearby who was hurt.

OOC: I didn't realize his character was in house as well.

 

"Mariah? No I don't know her. But I'll see if we can find her. I'm sure she's fine especially if Tifa's inside of her. But first we should probably get you to the hospital or something. Hold on for a sec." Sara said and turned around as Victoria and Paul ran up to them. "Hey guys. I thought it was you who called but I was a bit busy. Do you think with your famous status and all you could find a girl named Mariah? She has Tifa inside of her. I'll get this guy to the hospital." She was kind of surprised at how calm and cool she was acting. Well, it's because I'm helping you stay calm...Can't have you freaking out now can we? Balthier told her.Right, whatever. Sara said.

Paul ran up to August. "August, we have two people who fell out of the house here. We might need help. Victoria and I came running as soon as we knew that something was up." Paul told him and lead him to where the two people were.

"Wait Sara, does this person have a phone on them. If they do I have a tracker and might be able to find them." Victoria told her. 'Why is it that I am playing as a helper here?' Victoria asked in her mind. 'That would be cause of me. I was a helper too.' Lightning told her.

Joy only heard about the hospital part. He stood up, wincing. "No, I'm fine. Really. I just need to rest." Trying to walk away, he just fell to the ground in a heap. He groaned, trying to push himself up. It was hard, and he just gave up, lying there. Are you happy now? Clouds voice said. Loud enough probably to be heard by everyone here. You took me out, and now your body is useless. And that, boy, James, got away. Who knows what he might do! 'Shut up' was Joy's reply. "I tried to help the girl. And I don't want to be taken over by you." Cloud scoffed. And now the Buster Sword is gone. Trust me, I'm gonna look to see If I can find another body to latch on. Joy grinned sadly, knowing that wasn't possible.

"A number of them are over there, including two very specific targets of mine," spoke Judge Gabranth into Scardigne's mind. "Are you sure?" responded Scardigne inwardly. "Positively," answered Gabranth, "that meteor was the product of their power. A power that does not belong in this world." Scardigne could, for the first time, the importance of his mission. If this is what they were capable of, these "Inhabiters," then he would have to rid this world of them before innocents suffered. With new found determination, Scardigne headed that way.

"Sure," answered August to Paul. "Whatever I can do to help. Just tell me what you need me to do." Vaan groaned at this, but knew that these people needed help. As a general principle, however, Vaan liked to be more offensive than defensive.

Sara helped the guy who was inhabited by Cloud up. "Look, I don't think you're in the best condition to be saying whether your fine or not. You can barely stand up. And there looks like a hundreds of burns all over you. Victoria is going to find out where Mariah is. But first, do you have her cell phone number by any chance? Cause it'll be easier to find her if you do. If not, well we'll figure something out." She looked back as she saw Paul return with August. "Hey guys, a little help here..We need to get this guy to the hospital." She looked back that the guy who she was helping. "Um what's your name?"

Joy looked at the girl. "I..I don't have her number, no. And my name's Joy." He smiled his nice smile, but then it disappeared. "Where is the nearest hospital? What's your name. Who's your Inhabiter?" Joy said this all in one breath, hoping for any sort of answer he could get. He was also worried sick about Mariah. He never gave the signal to her like he promised. Not only that, but now his weapon was destroyed. His prized Buster Sword.

Chuck Lions came rushing over, gunblade in hand. He had seen the smoke and then the meteor falling, so he came rushing over. "What happened here? Is everyone alright?" he asked. "I'm Chuck Lions, Squall is my Inhibitor."

OOC: Dinner. c: I may or may not be back on later. Have tons of homework and such to do. So if I don't come back someone can play as Sara/Balthier until I get back.

 

"Okay...well like I said we'll figure something out. Oh right, I'm Sara. Um, that would be Balthier. Sort of a pain having him chose me but what can you do." She looked around trying to remember where the closest hospital was. "It's not that far from here but it'll take us a while with traffic. Think you'll be alright until then?" Sara asked. It had been awhile since Balthier had spoken to her at all. Um you still there Balthier? She asked in her head. Of course, I'm still here...I just don't feel the need to constantly comment on everything you do or say.. Balthier replied quite annoyed. Really? Well, I didn't think that was possibly. I thought you'd never shut up. She smiled slightly. Hmph.

"Okay I dont think I can find her, but I will get my people on it. Now lets get him to the hospital." Victoria told Sara. "Oh, and you should know me and Paul. Ours are Lightning and Zack Fair." Victoria told him.

Joy closed his eyes, pain in his chest. He heard someone talking, something about Squall, but he was too tired to listen. He heard Cloud's voice. Are you really that weak? Joy shook his head. I don't have time for this, Cloud. If you don't have any suggestions, just shut up. When he heard Zack Fair's voice, his eyes shot open. "Wait, Zack Fair? Wasn't he Cloud's friend a while ago?" Joy was listening, but not really in the conversation. He needed to find James, and quick. It wasn't about revenge anymore. Sephiroth was planning something to do with Jenova, and that was not good.

Scardigne arrived at the scene of the catastrophe, his swords already drawn. "Who among you is a host to an inhabiter?" he shouted to them all.

 

August had no idea who this guy was but he looked like bad news. "Gabranth!" shouted Vaan within everyone's mind. "You know this guy?" asked August aloud, aware that everyone could hear the conversation anyway. "He's a long time enemy of Balthier and mine, and he's responsible for killing my brother."

 

"So I see that you're here. However, it is insignificant," replied Gabranth, speaking through Scardigne's mouth. "Your life will end here." With that, Scardigne charged, blades directed straight towards August's chest.

Paul jumped up and blocked the attack with his sword. "You will kill no one on my watch." Paul said as he stood his ground.

OOC: Sorry Azure Flame. I noticed him, but I was already setting up the Scardigne thing and I was afraid that if I waited much longer the characters would all move someplace else. Would you mind to help August/Vaan fight Scardigne/Gabranth to buy the others time to get away and to defend them?

(BTW, I might not be on as much over the weekend. I'm telling you in advance so you don't get mad at me. Also, I noticed Chuck, but Joy isn't in a mood to talk to random people right now.)

Joy's eyes followed to the man charging. Not another one. Joy was about to draw his sword when he remembered it was gone. So he didn't do anything. He had enough for today. He felt tears rolling down his eyes. So, he was turning into Cloud. He always hoped it wouldn't happen. He only noticed that someone protected the man. And Joy smiled. Joy was tired. He felt his eyes close, and slump into unconsciousness.

August summoned a Greatsword into his hands, letting most of the movement fall to Vaan's instinct, and launched himself towards Scardigne in efforts to strike him and potentially blow him away. "Get the wounded out of here!" shouted August. Scardigne simply parried the blow and brought the other blade around to slash at August's open side. Vaan took hold at the last moment and dodged the attack, jumping back out of reach. This was going to be one tough fight.

Mariah woke up on the grass in a park, still about a block away from the house she had been trying to get to. Wait...woke up? She had been knocked out? What had happened? Tifa? No answer. She slowly wobbled to her feet, dazed and light-headed. Why had she been trying to get to that house? She remembered a few guys she had met earlier, but couldn’t put any of the pieces together.

 

She stepped forward clumsily, and in doing so she kicked something solid. She looked down to see a chunk of charred brick on the ground, and it came back to her: James, Marcus...Joy! She had fallen behind Marcus as they were running toward the house. The next thing she knew, there was an explosion in the place she was headed for, and shrapnel was flying everywhere from the site. And, apparently, she had been in the wrong place at exactly the wrong time. The last thing she remembered was something solid soaring right toward her head--this chunk of brick at her feet.

 

But never mind that, she had to find Joy! She knew that he had told her to stay where she was, but Tifa had persuaded her to go after Cloud. And, somehow, she herself had gotten the resolve to make sure that Joy was safe. Still unable to run, she slowly made her way to where James’s house had once been, hoping to find someone--anyone--still there.

Balthier spoke to Sara quite urgently. Quick! Let me take control. Vaan and I can hold him off while the others take Joy to the hospital. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up a second. I didn't agree to this at all.She said as Balthier took control of her without waiting for her. Balthier! She shouted. Balthier spoke through her to everyone else, "I'll will help Vaan hold him off. The rest of you, go get the kid to the hospital." Then, with Balthier controlling her body, Sara took out her gun and ran to stand by August's side. "Just like old times." Balthier spoke through her to Vaan ready to fight.

Joy's dream was a mix of strange things. He saw Sephiroth burning down a village, Cloud, and Tifa. BUt every time a memory came to him, it was gone by the next second. After it was over, he woke up. He seemed to be out only a little while. He pushed himself away, hurrying down the street, only one thought in his mind. Find Mariah. And then he saw her. Down the street. He felt a rush of joy, but his voice was still weak. He hoped she wouldn't react too badly about his horrible injuries. He croaked. "Mariah, I'm here. I'm alive."

Mariah could feel herself gaining strength with each step she took. She could feel Tifa waking up.

 

She felt a presence and her head snapped up. Joy! He was badly injured, but he was alive. She felt her eyes water and, with a sudden burst of energy, her dizziness gone, she ran to him.

Joy saw Mariah running, and grinned. "So, you're happy to see me huh?" He then took on a serious face. "I'm sorry. I never should have gone alone. After all, Sephiroth is now gone, my Buster Sword is broken, and I'm badly injures. So, what's up with you?" Joy just felt this feeling of happiness around her. Was it...love? Was it because of Tifa? Joy didn't know nor care. All that mattered was that he was back with Mariah. If he was with her, everything would be fine.
