pokebobhearts 22 Posted January 19, 2012 Honestly, I am happy that Disney Channel is changing up their ways. In the movie Lemonade Mouth Olivia (Brigit Mendler)'s dad got arrested which now-a-days you see everywhere. So why keep children in the dark about it? I think it is perfectly fine. Also, on Shake It Up I am quite happy Tinka (Caroline Sunshine) hinted towards puberty. It is something we all have to face whether we want to or not. Most people are used to That's So Raven and the innocence of how the world used to be. Also,Lizzie McGuire was another perfect example of an out-dated life. I think us Americans should suck it up and embrace our world. What I think is to far is them talking about sexual intercourse, which I am yet to see. Do you agree or disagree. Also, explain why. Junko 2,815 Posted January 19, 2012 Yeah, i agree, although i never thought about that. Like stuff having to do with arrest, that's stuff you'll see everywhere, so it's nothing new. and puberty, everyone is bound to hit is at some point, so why not know about it now. kids find out things like this for themsevles is bad, so why not show a piece of the real world to them from shows they watch everyday? 1 pokebobhearts reacted to this

Kingdom Sora 464 Posted January 19, 2012 I remember "Good Luck Charlie" and when the mom said "Well when your father and I started dating we didn't talk much." and Gabe asked why. Then the awkward silence hinted it and then she came up with "Played checkers ... lots and lots of checkers." I started laughing because Disney finally hinted toward sex with parents when they were dating. I think they are maturing to the point where they're not hiding as much things anymore. Maybe they'll come up with better lines now since kids are become more mature every minute.
_The Door To Light_ 1,507 Posted January 19, 2012 Well, I guess you're right. But this should be shown on other channels, maybe Nickleodeon. I miss the Disney Channel that had magic to it.
pokebobhearts 22 Posted January 19, 2012 To me Nickleodeon wouldn't seem fit seeing that a good percent of their shows are animated. But I do understand what you are staying.
Xaryjex 2 Posted January 22, 2012 Its great the the channel is growing up alittle. Of course there Audience is full of different ages. Stuff that is ok for 10 to 15 year old to see might not be the best for 5 years old, its awesome when they hint at stuff, it makes it more enjoyable for all ages. pokebobhearts 22 Posted January 22, 2012 Well then parents honestly should consider switching up the schedules after a good Handy Mandy change it to Sprout lol. When u make those decisions, to me, it's basically saying "I know what's best for my child and what's not." Also, it depends on the time. Sometimes kids shows end earlier than usual then go to the more preteen & teen shows so staying on a schedule would make a stabler environment for your kid(s).
