Cable smiled.

"This and that." he said. "I think Hope is where she needs to be, so I'm leaving her alone for now. I've been working on a little side project. Recreating a dream, shall we say."

He closed his eyes a moment, then reopened them.

"How many scents do you know from the Avengers?"

"Scents?" The thought didn't occur to her. After all, it's not like she walked around smelling people. "Let me think... Hawkeye, Stark, the Hulk... who could miss him?" She realized that it came out as a joke after she said it, but everyone always said that comedy just flowed. Maybe that's why she was never really good with it...

 

"Thor maybe... wait." She stood up straighter, her head tilted upward. She took a quick sniff, her instincts taking over. "And Captain America. He's here. Well... over there." She pointed down the dark street, rian visible through the dim lights that dotted the way. "It's hard to pinpoint him when it's this wet, but it's definitely him."

{Cable}

Cable nodded.

"Good." he said. "Cap will be a good man to get in touch with."

Cable glanced up at the tops of the surrounding buildings. he then looked at Laura.

"Alright, for now, we assume we are in enemy territory. We move quick and quiet. Keep a low profile till we understand the situation better and build up our numbers, if we can. Ready?"

Terra smiled to Xion before looking around. It was dark out while it started raining heavily on them as he became soaked. He almost went to find somewhere that was drier but then he heard someone or people not to far off. From what he could tell there was a young women and the other was still unidentifiable from where they where. "I think I hear others. Ven and Xion would you like to help me check it out?" With all of this going he figured out one thing: These events weren't by accident.

Laura let out a quick laugh. "I just tore a Doombot in half. Yeah, I'm ready." But she wasn't as certain as her words made her out to be. She, Cable, and apparently Captain America had been pulled into this... facsimilie; something that it looks like someone spent a good deal of time on. There had to be a reason behind it all, and the Doombots were pointing a pretty convincing finger.

 

"Come on. He's this way."

Lightning

 

One of them had seen her. Oh well. Lightning approached the group, examining them. The two younger ones were unknown to her, but the third-

 

"Xehanort?" She took an uneasy step backward, yet didn't summon her weapons. If these others were his allies, this was a fight she couldn't win. But how did Xehanort get here?

 

OOC: Xehanort and Lightning were both in a Dissidia RP I was in, and Xehanort had Terra's body then. I don't mean it as a plot device, just a case of mistaken identity, a stepping stone between characters, and a few spoilers to confuse Terra. ;D

"Xehanort!?" Terra sighed knowing how many people who had seen him when his body was possessed by Xehanort. The other fact being that his hair was forever a tainted silver/gray. He was shocked Ventus hadn't pointed that out yet but remained quiet in that little bit. "Sorry but that's not me. My name is Terra. Exactly how did you come to know Xehanort if I can ask and what's your name while where still around the topic of names?" He asked this calmly not liking to talk much of Xehanort because of what he did and the fact that he caused the outbreak with Terra's darkness.

Captain America waited and waited. But nobody came. Equally worried and annoyed, he decided he better start investigating the area on foot, and finding exactly where the hell he was. As he prepared to leave the alleyway, he suddenly saw two shadow figures not far off, headed his way. Reading his shield for battle at a moment's notice, he prepared to find out if they were friend or foe.

Zack continued to rush forward after what he thought to be Cloud. Cloud must have heard him, as he had abruptly stopped in the middle of the road. Zack leapt towards him, giving him a friendly tackle. But as soon as he made contact with him, he was immediatley blasted backwards by an incredible force. He shakily looked up from where he crashed twenty metres down the street, and what he saw made him quake in terror.

 

A long mane of silver hair, and an impossibly long sword.

 

Sephiroth.

Lightning

 

"Sorry. I'm Lightning." She visibly relaxed a little, still on edge. The similarity was uncanny; it couldn't be a coincidence. "There was a war, and we were both dragged into it. Unfortunately, I was removed from the conflict before I could strike that bastard down." Her voice was tinged with anger at the recollection of the memories. "He was trying to create something called a χ-blade... I'm sorry. I don't usually ramble like this."

"That's him." Laura took another quick sniff before dashing ahead, leaving Cable behind without thinking. She slowed down as she appraoched, watching as the blue figure prepared for combat. Was the enemy near? Laura stopped quickly, her claws extending with a snikt. If he was looking over here, then either he was looking at her or the enemy was right on top of her.

 

And she sincerely hoped the enemy was breathing down her neck.

Lightning story made sense as he smiled to her softly. "It's alright and I know what the asshole has done. Actually he's tried it once before I got caught up with losing my own body. He's caused a lot of problems for everyone but the only thing that doesn't make sense to me at this point is." He paused trying to think how he could word this and understand it himself. "Before I landed here he still had control over my body but then where did he go?" He sighed closing his eyes noticing something as opened them again. "So there yellow just like with the hair.............." He thought bitterly.

As Captain America waited in battle stance, the figures moved nearer. That was then he recognized exactly who they were. Laura of the X-Men and Cable. He yelled out to them so they knew he was here. He moved forwards to greet his friends, but stopped dead in his tracks. He felt a dark presence..and that presence was all too familiar.

"Captain!" Lauara retracted her claws, trotting to the Avenger. It had been years since she saw him last. Of course, he had arrested her then, but everything had worked out. She glanced back to be sure that Cable was following, stopping when she reached Cap. A chill ran through her body, as if something was watching them. All of her senses went wild, yet she had nowhere to direct them. "What is that?"

 

Lightning

 

It was then that she felt it. Like a wave of darkness rippled through the air, carrying with it a presence that she hadn't felt since the last War of the Gods. She looked to the pink crystal by her side, a faint light pulsing. "Terra, I'm sorry. I have to go. There's... someone I know needs my help, I think." Lightning took the crystal orb in hand, turning away from the others. "I'm sure you understand. I... hope we meet again." The crystal shattered with a pink flash, Lightning mounting the ivory steed before her. "Come on, Odin!" The Eidolon reared back with an otherworldly whinny charging through the Land of Departure before vanishing.

 

They reappeared in a dark city, rain pouring down around them. The heavy feeling was becoming stronger.

 

'I'm coming, Zack.'

{Cable}

"Staying in one place to long is a bad idea." Cable told Captain America and X-23. "Continue this conversation on the move."

Cable felt what the other two were feeling. He didn't like it one bit.

 

{Xion}

Xion looked after Lightning's exit.

"Should we go with her and help?" She asked Terra, turning to look at him.

"I'd say alright but exactly where do you think she went? I believe she also mentioned Zack. I remember him from the Olympus Coliseum when he got took over thanks to Hades. " He say this quickly before shivering. Something wasn't right at all and the feeling of Darkness was starting to become stronger. "I think we may want to get out of here............ The feeling I got isn't to terribly good right now something Dark is getting closer.............."

Captain America moved along with Laura and Cable, glad to be in the company of allies. He took in his surroundings as he walked. It was a dark, morose city, with a sense of great evil and danger in the air all around. Speaking of evil and danger, he wasn't looking forward to meeting the presence he felt. One of the most feared forces on this planet, and he was sure many others. Sephiroth.

Zack began saying his dying prayers in his mind, as he knew he had no chance here, not only because Sephiroth was far too powerful, but that he wouldn't stand a chance with his injury. As he prepared for his inevitable death, the silver mane coming ever closer, something bright leaped from the shadows. An Ediolon! Odin, to be exact. And riding it, an all too familiar face. Zack smiled a smile of relief.

Lightning

 

Lightning leapt off the the steed, Odin transforming out of its Gestalt form. Her shield and sword flashed into her hands and she ran in front of Zack. By the look on his face, at least he remembered her. "Long time..." She said, watching as the silver form crept closer, the dim lights around them occassionally gleaming from its blade. "We've got you." But her words brought more bravado than her blade did. She had never fought Sephiroth, but she had heard of him from Zack and Cloud. Odin may help lift her odds, but she wasn't sure if that would be enough.

 

"Sephiroth." The words cut through the rain as thunder crashed overhead. "This is not our conflict, whether it be the will of the gods or another force." But she knew her words held no meaning to him. All she could really hope for was to buy some time until reinforcements arrived.

 

If they would.

"Doom can't be doing this alone, can he?" Laura asked out loud, to herself more than anyone. "And even then, why do it at all? Why would he pull in heroes from wherever they were just to fight some robots?" She didn't mention that presence. Every time she thought about it, it filled her with an unknown dread. It was best left unspoken. "And also: why us? Why not the Fantastic Four? And also-"

 

'Why am I talking this much?' The question turned and reeled through her mind. She was never one for conversation, but she was a fountain of words right now. Was she... nervous? Afraid? Logan acted this way sometimes when he was under pressure. She let out a quick laugh. Maybe it just runs in the family.

Terra heard Luara and went to a wall not far from her and the others as he listened. "Interesting..............." He thought as rain fell on him. He summoned Ends of the Earth as it slightly lit the area as it appeared in a white and brownish light. He carefully hid it behind his back as he felt the Dark presence not far off. "That's some nasty darkness if I can feel it from here.............." He took a deep breathe not liking the thought as he heard foot steps not to far off.

{Cable}

Cable watched the roof tops as they went along.

"It might be a test of knew technology he invited or found." Cable suggested. "Draw in some other heroes before moving on to his more hated enemies."

Something occurred to Cable. Dr Doom was also known to use magic as well as science. Maybe he used that to transport Laura, Cap and himself to this place. Cable grimaced.

"Or worse." he thought. "He found an ally on another plane."

 

{Xion}

Xion followed after Terra, unsure of what to do. Hearing the name Xehanort had put her on edge. That was Xemnas's whole self. But she didn't feel that Terra was Xehanort. She resolved to do what her heart was telling her, and that was trust Terra.

When Terra summoned his Keyblade, Xion followed suit, summoning the Kingdom Key.

"We can deal with the darkness." she said. "And if we can find Lightning and Zack, we should be able to handle it easier."

"I feel like I've seen this guy before but I don't know why or how I saw him if it was even me..............." He said this quietly and in a Xemnas like fashion. His expression was focused as figures came into view. Zack was the first seen, next he saw Lightning, and then Sephiroth with his long sword. "I remember him. Zack I faced him at the Olympus Coliseum." His expression hardened as he walked next to Lightning holding his keyblade to the side. "I believe you need help am I right?"

As Captain America walked along musing about the dangers the Sephiroth would pose to them all, he also began to think about his fellow avengers. Thor, Hulk, Stark, Hawkeye.... Where were they? Were they someone in this city also caught in this mess?? Almost as soon as he thought that, his communicator began to go off. Freezing along with his other two companions, they gathered around to see who it was.

As Zack watched Lightning have a face-off with Sephiroth, He noticed two other figures come from the shadows, rushing Lightning's assistance. One was a short, black haired girl.. with a keyblade? And the other...No way..Terra! Zack smiled happilyn at finally seeing his old friend after all these years. The black haired girl rushed to his side, taking a look at his injured hand. She seemed to have some medical exprience, as she quickly healed and set his hand. She then gave him an elixir, to bring back his energy and health. Zack slowly got up, and joined Lighting and Terra, along with the new girl, to face off Sephiroth.

Lightning

 

"This is it, Sephiroth!" The former l'Cie pulled har blade back, thrusting it forward with all of her might. Thunder magic rocketed out, the streetlights around them shattering in a shower of sparks. Odin bent over Zack and the others, the glass harmlessly bouncing off of the Eidolon. Lightning stood in the aftermath, panting. She had never used an attack of that magnitude before, and most likely wouldn't again. But it would be worth it if-

 

She raised her shield reflexively, falling back onto the slick pavement. She rolled to the side, barley glimpsing the shining blade as it sliced raindrops in two. Sephiroth spun around, the katana's sleek tip pointed towards her. Lightning pulled herself up as her opponent moved again. She hopped back, blocking one blow after another. His attacks were gaining speed. It was beyond human ability. Lightning stumbled back as she felt the sting of the blade across her cheek. It burned like fire in the cold deluge. How much longer could she take this?

 

X-23

 

"Another Avenger?" Laura peeked at the communicator, and then lifted her nose to the sky. She couldn't detect any of the other Avengers; at least, the ones she could identify. Then again, the rain wasn't helping either. Spider-Man was an avenger, right? He'd have a lot to answer for if it turned out to be him. Then again, so was Logan...

 

"If there are more things out here like whatever we were headed towards, then we need to find this guy first." She pointed to the communicator. "There are five other scents with that heavy one, and something bad's happening. I can just feel it. I don't think this guy's safe alone."

{Cable}

Cable occasionally glanced at the communicator as he kept up a consent look out for enemies.

"Agreed." he said. "If we are going to survive, we need to stick together. Cap, get a location and fast."

Cable concentrated and listened to the Infonet, trying to pick up on the radio signal himself to back trace it. He hadn't ruled out the possibility of a set up just yet, but there was still hope the call was what it was suppose to be.

 

{Xion}

After making sure Zack was okay, Xion got ready for battle. She charged in to take some heat off of Lightning. She blasted a beam of light at Sephiroth, which he dodged easily, but it got him distracted from Lightning. Xion moved closer and made several jabs at Sephiroth that were blocked.

It suddenly clicked for Xion were she had seen Sephiroth before. Sora had battled him at the Olympic Coliseum, just like Terra had. If her memory served her, Sora beat him. She smiled slightly at this knowledge and pressed in with her attack more. If Sora could beat this guy, the she should be able to too.

Terra decided to put his endurance and strength to use as he got in the way off Sephiroth blocking the attacks so Xion and Lightning could attack with little trouble. "Okay you two how about you try now to get a good shot!" He knew he had some item's that if needed he could activate the Dark Impulse command style with the Big Bad Pete ice cream to even the odds against Sephiroth.

{Xion}

Xion dropped back and threw a elixir at Lightning.

"Best heal up." She said.

She fired a few shards of ice at Sephiroth.

"I might have to use my limit on this guy." she thought as she prepared another spell.

Team S-E

 

"Thanks." Lightning caught the bottle. She crushed it in her armored hand, the revitalizing wave surging through her body. This was more like it. "Odin!" The Eidolon leapt back from the fight as Sephiroth's blade shaved across its shield. "We're ending this."

 

The Eidolon nodded, passing its massive blade to its master before fading away in a flurry of pink petals. Zack slashed down, his foe sidestepping the attack with ease. If Sephiroth was here, could Genesis be as well? Not a pleasant thought, especially right now.But maybe Angeal...

 

The SOLDIER was knocked out of these thought as he flew back, the Buster Sword clanking in the dark distance. That wasn't a good sound. Lightning jumped over him, spinning as she swung the Zantetsuken with a mighty shout. The legendary blades clashed, a wave of power surging in all directions. Sephiroth twisted his wrist, Lightning responding by twisting her weapon. The massive blade dug into the ground, taking the Masamune with it.

 

"Now! Finish this!"

{Xion}

Xion activated her Limit Break, Event Horizon. Light gathered around Xion as she charged forward at Sephiroth, her Keyblade hitting the One Winged Angel. She darted back and forth, slashing at Sephiroth as she went.

"Drop!" She yelled at Sephiroth.
