Amon 4,279 Posted January 2, 2012 With more and more people changing names it's getting harder to remember who is who. Especially if you take a short break and come back to people who have changed their identities. Could there be a name history implemented? I like how on Steam even if you change your name it will show the original on the profile... for example if I changed my name to "Poopyface" it would come up as Poopyface AKA Fredfredbug4 Just something like that to view on peoples profiles. 12 JesusFreak, TheApprenticeofKingMickey, Uncle Dolan and 9 others reacted to this
DragonMaster 1,166 Posted January 2, 2012 I kind of like that idea as well. I don't know if it is possible, but it would sure help. It took me a week to figure out that Think Pink was butterflylexi, and there are others that I would have never figured out if they hadn't posted it. 1 Khrulesbbs reacted to this

Icarus 161 Posted January 2, 2012 True, it is going to get a little awkward when we don't know/remember who we're talking to and stuff. 1 phantomhive reacted to this

DChiuch 5,773 Posted January 3, 2012 It's impossible, sorry. I mean I can keep the login names constant forever, and let people change their "display name", and then we can display a history of display names-- however, this becomes a mess as people change their display name wayy too often, and also, it won't let people change the name they login with. So yeah idk, thats not really suitable.

It would be for a set/reasonable amount of time so most get used to the name change.

A better option would be they just put it in their "About Me" section on their profile.
DChiuch 5,773 Posted January 3, 2012 I agree, perhaps it would be good to require people to state this in their About Me profile...
Obi-wan 411 Posted January 3, 2012 I'm all game for that if I can be able to know if I already know them.
Aaron 579 Posted January 11, 2012 I agree, perhaps it would be good to require people to state this in their About Me profile... This. Anyone who changes their name should just put it in the about me section. Kinda up to you guys to do tho.
