KeyOfVentus 90 Posted December 29, 2011 Okay so I have this history project due on January 3rd. It's on World War II. My only problem is, he(as in my teacher) is letting us do it on anything related to WWII. So the subject is too big. I've narrowed it down somewhat, like I don't want to do anything pre-war or post-war. I want to do something that has to do with the war itself. I don't want to do anything Holocaust related, that stuff depresses me. What I'm asking for, is some very specific ideas, and maybe some websites to accompany the ideas. If you guys can do this for me, it would be a life saver, I plan to work on it for three days, and it needs to seem like I put a lot of thought and effort into it. Please I need your help here! It's an Honors Class and I'm barely hanging onto my A here, I have four weeks until the end of the marking period and I haven't been able to thing of anything except of mapping out the whole freaking war. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

echo 69 Posted December 29, 2011 You could focus on the technological advancements made during the war such as, the introduection of airplanes as a fighting platform. Even though they didn't really make an impact on the war itself they made alot of improvements on the idea of the aircrafts. This topic is a pretty good way to avoid the holocaust. Grimmjow 839 Posted December 29, 2011 You should write about the mutated zombie Nazis who tried to get out of their catacombs to conquer the world but were barely defeated by Nathan Drake in a ruthless pursuit. True story. 2 Icarus and Queen Tery reacted to this
KeyOfVentus 90 Posted December 29, 2011 I know but it's not my best subject and I've been stressing about college since fourth grade, so I'm kinda paranoid. I missed getting an A by two points last marking period. Plus if I don't have a topic then I don't do the project and I systematically fail. And thank you for that one. depending on the other responses I'll definitely consider it.
Weedanort 8,786 Posted December 29, 2011 You could focus about the veteran's story about it.
Icarus 161 Posted December 29, 2011 Focus on the economic statuses of the countries involved and how they got/bought all the resources they needed. You can also research on how the people (citizens) assisted their own countries, or if they were oppressed into not doing anything at all. Did something like this in 7th grade. 1 wayfinder823 reacted to this
Oishii 3,987 Posted December 29, 2011 If I had this project, I would focus on Japan's involvement in the war (obviously because I'm obsessed over the country ) There was a lot of tension between Japan and the Western countries, mostly over trades with China. And then, of course, there is the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the atomic bombs. Just the sort of thing I would be interested in. Also, you should try to use what grades you have to figure out what the minimum grade you need on this to get an A. For instance, for my finals I found out I needed at least a C or D to pass two of my classes (one class I need 21% or above on the final ). Figuring that out helped to relieve a lot of my stress about my grades. 2 Sora96 and Queen Tery reacted to this
VentusRoxas 73 Posted December 29, 2011 Have you researched what pushed each each country into the war? Like in the u.s. pearl harbor just pushed us into the war but there were other factors that could have eventually pulled the u.s. into ww2. If you already have, sorry but honors classes are similar but cover everything differently. But I think the economics is a very good idea.

wayfinder823 477 Posted December 29, 2011 Jealous! I love WWII. (I know, I'm a nerd.) A topic that has ALWAYS interest me is the Germans. WHY did they believe and even like a man such as Hitler? Why would they allow a man like Hitler to be have power? How was Hitler considered a "Savior"? etc. Another interesting topic (for me at least, and maybe you'll find it interesting too) research the groups who were anti-Hitler, like Valkyrie, or the White Rose. (There's tons, really, but those are the main two I can think of.) The White Rose, in fact, is a group of teenagers. Well.. young adults. They just started college. But it's a brother and sister (ever heard of Sophie or Hans Scholl?) and a few of their friends who distribute anti-Hitler leaflets, but one day, they got caught... and... well I don't really want to spoil it... you can research it if you'd like! The story is amazing! (I actually really encourage you to do this one, it's really interesting. I promise!) If you decide to do the anti-Hitler one, or the German's perspective of Hitler, I'd love to help you. I know of a few books that can help you in your research Just PM if you want:)
echo 69 Posted December 30, 2011 Got another idea you could talk about the steel mills in Pittsburgh and how they supplied all the armor for the tanks and aircrafts. It was a big part in helping supply the U.S troops to lead to thier victory.
Think Pink 1,967 Posted December 30, 2011 You could write about the shift and how women took on a lot of "men's jobs" Trench warfare itself and the complications A specific battle, such as Iwo Jima, Guattalcanal, or even the landing at Normandy. Why the Axis Powers lost [and in contrast, why the Allies won] A chain of events sort of thing, like how it got to the point of war Sorry, that's all I can think of off the top of my head. 1 Paranoia reacted to this
