KH2 IGN gave KH 2 a 7.6/10?!?

Okay guys i know i can be the only one who this this is absolutely ridiculous. i was looking up a guide on ign.com and happen to come to the review page for Kingdom Hearts II, at first i thought that their must have been some kind of mistake because kingdom hearts deserves nothing under a 9. This review must have something against the series or something because re:coded recived an 8/10. im pretty sure that we can all agree that this guy need to re review it. I dont care how old of a title it is

They just be hating but really they try to show the weak parts of the game. plus if anyone knows the game is gr8 if they give it more of a chance.

Hes going on about how you don't need to use magic, but if you're actually playing the game in a higher difficulty mode, then it would be quite hard to not use magic. Magic and summons makes the game a lot easier, so hes just probably not using common sense and using new magic skills when he gets them

edit: oh my is he slow. The game isn't that linear. you can go back to any world whenever you want. sure the story like follows one path, but it doesnt mean you can't go back. jeez.

Exactly. I only play on Proud or Critical, but I use magic all the time. It's essential.

 

But if you're on Easy or fighting random enemies on Standard, then yeah. Just run around mashing that button. But you can't say something like that about a game without looking at it from all angles.

true but some of the points he made did not make sense to me at all, like when he was trying to claim that it wasn't an RPG. the series is so great it deserves it own freaking genre!

thankyou. My first game file has 400 hours of gameplay (i left it on a lot c' but i got through almost everything. after i beat the game, i had a lot of fun actually just getting to level 99, and getting those extra keyblades.

i guess square enix didnt pay ign enough for that one lol

 

seriously though, i dont take any of their ratings seriously anymore. when was the last time you saw a blockbuster game (call of duty, halo, gears, uncharted, gta, etc) get below a 9 on most of these review sites. granted most of them deserve it, however some do not. the only one i remotely respect is famistu, and they are getting bad too. we'll see after i play ff-xiii 2 if i still respect them, since they gave it perfect score.

Does it really matter? If I'm interested in a game and I think it looks fun, I'll buy it. I like reading other peoples' reviews, but unless a large majority of people claim that the game is horrible (which is far from true with KH2 ), I'm still gonna get the game if I'm interested in it.

i dont really know of anywhere i can go in my area to rent games and yes i do because usually they give a good prediction on how i will feel about the game but this review is far off of what im sure most people would rate it

*shrug* Their opinion. And if the game is not to their taste, expect bias in the rating. KH2 wasn't perfect, but it deserves a higher rating than that. But hey, sales speak louder than their stupid 7.6

tutti frutti. Much like what Kelvy stated, i usually go by my own interest and perspective of a game. I'm beyond the point of believing ratings. The main reason why I look at reviews from critics like IGN, GameInformer, etc. is to get an idea on what's in the game. For KHCoM for example, I didn't care for the card based battle system, but the story is what made for that from my perspective. Other members on this site may have different views on CoM. Though a majority of the time I will rent a game, or get it used. That way I can at least get a more hands on experience on the game. KH2 definitely deserved a better rating than a 7.6/10. Though there's really nothing we can do about. I stopped taking ratings and reviews seriously.

We all know IGN is biased and that they favor Xbox the most and that a large amount of their community are Xbox players, but smart people know that that review was shit. I mean one minute of his review was talking about how you open the game and then your not interested. Another 2 minutes was random babbling about how the game is great, but he gave it a 7.6. Im sorry, but IGN is full of shit nowadays. Of course people talk about their own interests and thats how they make a decision, but thats how I operate too. The only reason I rage is because alot of people take reviews from IGN and decide not to get a game because of it. As a last note if the game became a Playstation Greatest Hits why would it have a low rating Nuff said.

First off different people reivewed different games so the opinion on seires will very.IGN is also not biased they have playstation team, Nintendo team and xbox team.IGN put this game on top 100 ps2 games list so calm down.But it's pointless putting in argue when you are closed minded that someone didn't like game as much as you.Also 7.6 means it's good game they didn't hate it.This comes in my list of worst threads put on kh13.com(why argue about old review with critic that no longer works there)

it was just something to talk about, if you were not interested in the thread you didn't have to read it, or even comment on it for that matter. that is the point of this whole site, to discuss things about the kingdom hearts series and I'm sure this falls under that. I was surprised to see such a low rating on a popular gaming website so i posted it on this forum to see others opinions on it. sorry if what i find interesting isnt to you. but i can still respect your opinion of what i post http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png
