in the new trailer you can see riku facing off with Ansem SoD. Ansem picks up a sword that was lying on the ground and i thought, why the hell would ansem need a sword to fight riku? he could just summon his guardian, so that got me thinking, and now I've come to the conclusion that Ansem SoD isn't a heartless anymore, but has now become a human, be it with a very dark heart and has seperated himself from xehanort. I did however watch the trailer again and can see that he does however have the heartless emblem on his chest but it might just be a necklace that he kept for old times sake

Um...no. Just no. I'm sorry I might come off as a bit of an *** during this but it's just because after getting a lot of plausible theories, I read something like this which doesn't make any sense at all.

 

How the heck can Ansem SoD split himself from Xehanort?! He was destroyed and the heart that he was created from returned to Kingdom Hearts. Yen Sid has already confirmed that Xehanort has come back to life as a Somebody. Besides that, being human wouldn't mean that he couldn't summon his Guardian. When Riku tapped into Ansem's powers, he used the guardian is his battle against Roxas. He was still human though. The reason that Ansem is using a sword is to probably make it seem more dramatic. The Ansem SoD we see in the dream world is a dream or an illusion. Those are the only two options.

I agree the scene with the sword is odd... but nothing about your theory is valid.

 

Rather than answer Riku's question of 'What are you doing here?!' he just calmly picks up the sword and points it at him. I don't think he's going to fight him with the sword, lol. I think the sword has actually been taken from a guard or someone who just got killed/eaten by darkness/whatever. I think it'd be a good moment for Ansem to take the sword, turn it back around and put it into the the ground before saying something along the lines of "I could ask you the same thing. Do you even know what side you want to be on in this place?" in the most casual/friendly way possible for someone whom Riku absolutely does not get along with.

I think it is a nightmare or illusion sent by Master Xehanort. And Ssceles said, he probably picked up the discarded sword for dramatic effect. I'm pretty sure if Ansem wanted to fight Riku, he would use more extreme measures.

Anyone else think Ansem SOD looked wimpy with that sword? He is tall with bulging muscles, yet he picks up a plain little sword
