This. For some reason, I think the Volcano Lord from KH2 was Axel's Heartless, and the Blizzard Lord was Vexen's. Though I'd really like to know how/why Vanitas is coming back as well as Ansem SoD and Xemnas, though it is the Dream World, so that may explian it.

Noruma stated in an interview when he first revelled how a Somebody comes back after becoming a heartless and Nobody that Sora must have destroyed millions of heartless. It wouldn't be surprising if some of the Organization's heartless had been killed along the way. He was referencing this point, that some of the Organization members have come back as Somebodies, although I've gotta say I wasn't expecting Ienzo or Aelus. I think there might be a lot of reappearances.

It's possible that Vanitas, Ansem SoD and Xemnas are nothing more than illusions, like Ansem SoD was in COM. We really don't have enough information on the dream world to know if being in the dream world causes them to become into being or not. For all we know, their appearance is simply Yen Sid's way of really testing them.

yup!! it's because of sora. with ven's heart still in him he could most likely see the people with that heart especially since he's in the dream world so your more likely right about that. Sora "might??" see ven too but that part is a guess with vanitas it's a theory. as for Ansem and Xemnas just remember what Yen Sid said it's a dream world,. they'll see people that they will meet and have already met. =D

So I think, as Lea, he's going to help the hero's to try and help Roxas and Xion. Do I foresee some Ventus-Lea friendship in the future? Perhaps.

 

Also, we've seen Lea, Aeleus, and Ienzo so far. How many others do you think are back? And if there are more, do you think any of them will be the yet-unamed Somebodies?

I don't know about that. I got the feeling that Lea is working for his own side, much like he did in Castle Oblivion. We don't even know how much Lea will be like his nobody. Will he have his memories from being a nobody, and how much of his emotions going to play in changing his character? DDD may answer these questions for us.

Possibly, but not necessarily. When we saw Ienzo and Aelus, neither had on an Organization cloak, suggesting they had lost the ability to control darkness. We don't actually know how Lea became Axel, the majority of the theories were that he lost his heart during Maleficent's take over of Radiant Garden, but it's possible he lost his heart due to practising in darkness to become stronger. As for his chakrams, they're a weapon, being able to summon them isn't a particularly surprising ability. Of course, he's lost his fire abilities, because he's a Somebody. But really, I think he has all his memories from being Axel.

Personally, I think it's dumb, he really doesn't fit and mesh well with the other protagonists and his involvement in the games after Kingdom Hearts 2 feels forced.

If anything, they plopped Xion in Axel and Roxas's friendship. Axel and Roxas were friend before Xion came into the picture, as stated in the begining of Days, and KH2.
