Grimmjow 839 Posted December 11, 2011 I am watching Tom Yum Goong for the third time now and got the idea for this thread. Do you like Martial Arts movies? If no..why? If yes: What are your favourite Martial Arts movies? I love sooo many but I think I will just name the favorites of each MA actor I idolize. Tony Jaa - Tom Yum Goong Jackie Chan - Drunken Master II Jet Li - Kiss of the Dragon and Fearless Bruce Lee - Enter the Dragon and Return of the Dragon http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=USlnfTGlhXc 1 animemylove reacted to this

Grimmjow 839 Posted December 11, 2011 I really loved those very old Wing Chun movies at the beginning of Jackie Chan's career and I wanted to train it but it wasn't really practical in a real life situation so I did Muay Thai for 2 years sicne I couldn't find a place for Muay Boran until i broke my arm and shoulder so bad that I couldn't do any sport with my arms for a year but I really start finding interest in Jeet Kune Do lately. I like Bruce Lee's philosophy about it... I just need to find a place to learn it.
Nweintraub 630 Posted December 11, 2011 My favorite martial arts movie is Avatar: the last airbender (live action). But I don't understand why everybody lashed out at it for leaving stuff out? Like it was a rip-off? Just because they left stuff out or something, doesn't mean they should lash out at it & make it one of the worst movies! I wish they would do the complete opposite! M. Night Shymalayan worked hard on it, & you guys should give him credit, not just lash out at him! I liked that movie a lot! I just don't understand some things... It is bad that you even consider it a martial arts movie. The fighting scenes are badly choreographed and sloppy and ineffective in real life.. everybody who learned martial arts can tell you that. Also not to forget the priority was the bending. And the film IS bad. Is is made so sloppy. Clearly Shyamalan never watched Avatar. Aang's personality has nothing in common with the one from the movie. And the necessity to have fire near you to fire bend???? It is just a disgrace for the animation. But I don't want to discuss this further. This thread is for real martial arts movies.

What the heck, SoraWillPrevail! It is not bad that I consider it a martial arts movie! You-you know what's bad?!? To consider it's effects & his work bad! If I were Shyamalan, I would sue & arrest everyone who would hate or lash out at the movie! It's probably a disgrace to him that you don't like, or lash out a big hate at him for making that movie with maybe not very good affects! It's not the worst movie ever! I like it! It is.. since it is not a real martial arts movie. I don not consider the effects as bad work. The effects are good. But no matter how much work he spend in this project, the end result is bad. With what right would you sue and arrest people who dislike that movie? Ever heard of freedom of speech and criticism? We can insult this movie as much as we want. Critics are payed for insulting this movie . It is not the worst movie ever. But it is bad and as an live action adaptation of the animation it is horrendous. Well if you like it like it. It is your opinion my friend.
