Think Pink 1,967 Posted November 30, 2011 My church has one and I go every week~ It's fun and I just like to be able to sit down and talk openly about stuff without anyone judging me. And it's definitely easier than trying to open up to my Dad. Does anyone else go to a youth group? (It doesn't have to be a church one like mine) Has it helped you at all? Mine definitely helped me overcome anorexia about a year ago. I love the idea of the support system and how everyone gets along so well.
kingdomlanelover 494 Posted December 1, 2011 I go, but my church is the complete opposite. They judge everyone, but i've learned that you can't go for other people, you have to go for yourself.
wayfinder823 477 Posted December 1, 2011 Yep! I love it! I go every Tuesday night, and we do different activities, and you're right, it's a great place to go and make friends that have similar beliefs. I love my Youth Group, though we call it Mutual. D: Maybe you should find a new church. They don't seem to really understand what their religion means if they're treating you that way. ://

Think Pink 1,967 Posted December 1, 2011 no my dad would get mad, hes a hard core catholic and would probably disown me if i became another religion lol Not another religion, I just meant maybe a different Catholic church. A lot of towns/cities have more than one of the same denomination. It's so rude of them to act that way, especially in church of all places. Church is supposed to be a holy, happy place where everyone gets together to learn, not a place where people are mean. Maybe you could explain that to your Dad. You should be happy, not having people be down on you. (:

JesusFreak 41 Posted December 1, 2011 I go to a youth group. My dad is actually the youth pastor because our old one started college and ditched us for a internship at a larger church. Anyways, it's a lot of fun! We have ours every Wednesday. Yesterday, we just played games because my dad was busy working(he has two jobs) to get a lesson ready. We had beach ball volleyball in the church. My team won twice. Ha, ha but yeah it was a lot of fun. Next Wednesday we're going caroling and then having a Christmas party afterwards. I love youth group...it helps me a lot.
