A:TLA - "The Promise" Leaked Images

Ever wonder what happened to Zuko's mother? Where the original Team Avatar went afterwards? Her is where everything is explained! The book that is the "bridge" to A:LTA and LOK!!!

 

Everything left untold in the Avatar the Last Airbender series in going to be told in a comic book with the name "The Promise" there apparently is more than one part, and the first will be released on Jan. 25. A fan has managed to obtain a copy of the book, and speculation has been circulating around on whether or not these images are legit. The first one was the panel below which was very Zutara-centric:

 

 

 

 

Then a Kataang one surfaced:

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER- THE PROMISE PART 1 NEWWWW INFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The comic begins very similarly to episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender, but with an extension: ”…I believed Aang could save the world. And you know what? I was right. With the help of his friends, Aang defeated Fire Lord Ozai and ended the hundred year war. Zuko, Ozai’s son and our ally, became the new Fire Lord. Together with Earth King Kuei, Aang and Zuko promised to restore the four nations to harmony.”

This means Kuei will most likely make an appearance. (That means Bosco, too, and we all love him)!!!!

Additional plot details were also released: ”The Promise takes Aang to a Fire Nation colony in the heart of the Earth Nation, (sic) where tensions between neighbors threaten to shatter the world’s newfound peace— putting the Avatar on a collision course with one of his closest friends, Fire Lord Zuko!”

The Promise Part Two will come in May. The flavor text for Part Two reads, “What does Zuko learn from Ozai? Can Aang prevent the return to war? Will Sokka find a cure for his “oogies”? Find out in…”

This means we might not find out about Ursa until Part Two. I have no idea what “oogies” are, but I guess we’ll find out in Part 1.

So what are your thoughts? Would you have preferred this to be their next season instead of a new series or are you satisfied with a comic book? I myself don't mind, but another season of the show would have been nice. >:

I would have vastly preferred this to be a new A:TLA season. Legend of Korra looks good, but they could have put that off and released this as a show first. Whatever, though. If I can find it I will get it.

Although I think The Legend of Korra will be awesome, I can honestly say I would much rather prefer to have the story continue where it left off.

 

And there better be more Kung-Fu Nazi's (fire nation soldiers) in this comic.

The writer said something along the lines in some video on youtube that quickly got removed that the character designer wanted to re-design each character for the book with mild changes.

However the writer wanted Zuko to have a re-design that was a visual indication of his temptation to become the type of Firelord that his father which implied that throughout the comic book series Zuko will be struggling between keeping the peace and taking after his father. He doesn't want to be like his father, but yet in the end he would eventually seek out advice from him.

 

In Legend of Korra, the result of Aang and Zuko's long lasting peace can be obviously seen with the metropolis city which they might be planning out when they're looking at fire nation colonies on the Earth Kingdom map in an early comic panel so I'm betting he does eventually turn around.

I doubt that they would really kill off Zuko. He has no rightful heir since this is not too long after the TV series and that would leave everything open for who takes his place on the throne and that would cause more conflict too since Azula is somewhere in this too. If anything Aang would beat some sense into him, or Zuko does something he'll regret doing and would see the error of his ways.

 

I have no preference in pairings though. The whole "Sweetie" thing is incredibly annoying though and I wish they chose something else for their pet names because Aang and Katara sound like an old married couple when they do that. >: --- But Since Tenzin is their legit future son I'm just moving on with it. :U
