AnsemTheWise 1,114 Posted November 14, 2011 DeathNote's good. Fate/Stay Night is excellent, but you might be better off with the anime (It's hard to find the complete English manga). There's always Bleach if you don't mind reading until the end of your life.

Ivan 969 Posted November 15, 2011 Try reading Death Note, if you like it, go read Monster (also known as Naoki Urasawa's Monster). It's kinda like Death Note (in which where there's a guy killing tons of people and a detective), but definitely better. Here's a little synopsis that I copied off from mangareader: Quote Monster weaves the riveting story of brilliant Dr. Kenzo Tenma, a famous surgeon with a promising career at a leading hospital. Tenma risks his reputation and promising career to save the life of a critically wounded young boy. Unbeknownst to him, this child is destined for a terrible fate. A string of strange and mysterious murders begin to occur soon afterward, ones that professionally benefit Dr. Tenma, and he emerges as the primary suspect. Conspiracies, serial murders, and a scathing depiction of the underbelly of hospital politics are all masterfully woven together in this compelling manga thriller. Or you know, just skip Death Note and go straight to Monster. But seriously if you want to read Death Note go ahead. But seriously. Read Monster sometime. Do it. I'm sorry I just love this manga so much.

Space Cowboy 1,392 Posted November 15, 2011 For mangas, I would say Cowboy Bebop and .hack, but you might like watching the anime better, it's a better overall experience I think.

Odd that alot people think that because 90% of the time comics are better than Tv shows and movies that use what there base on in my opinion.
guillus 3 Posted November 16, 2011 I would give my sincere opinion about what mangas you should read, but if I did you would be here reading my post until next week. So here's a skim over some manga I've read over the years: - Bleach; - Katekyo Hitman Reborn; - Hunter x Hunter; - D.Gray-Man; - Hellsing; - Rave Master; - Fairy Tail; - Monster Hunter Orage; - Soul Eater; - Samurai Deeper Kyo; - Detective Conan; - And some others I can't remember... Those are the ones that marked me the most(except for Naruto which I will be criticized if I put it on the recommendations list).

Yeah I have the same opinion you have when it comes to that. I don't watch the anime adaptions of most of the manga I read because reading mostly gives off a better experience, but with Cowboy Bebop the anime is a better experience because of the visuals, and the music basically sets off the right tones, etc.
