Yen Sid & Eraqus's Views on Darkness

Recommended Posts

tutti frutti. This is more to get everyone's perspective on how Yen Sid and Eraqus both view the darkness. For the most part I think that Eraqus was far too strict on Terra from beginning to end of BBS. As opposed to just bringing Terra down, he should have tried to get rid of the darkness inside of Terra. Yen Sid seems to consider more how the individual handles the darkness, along with how they go about using the darkness. What are some of your opinions about this topic?

I'm kinda wondering what Eraqus is going to make of Riku if he meets him and finds out how he mastered the darkness without turning from the light, because as you said, he was very hard on Terra.

Eraqus will see Riku and have a heart attack! It would be like: "Such Darkness!! How could Yen Sid allow this boy to be a Mas..." *dead*

Riku dealed (FAIL using the simple past!!) dealt with darkness very well. So did Terra. Eraqus is FAR TOO strict about Darkness.

And Sora who Eraqus would see as a Wonder Boy of light will fall into Darkness HAHAHA! So ironic!

Eraqus' strictness on darkness made me not like him (I actually think of Eraqus as an antagonist xD). In fact, I think that the way Eraqus acted towards Terra only helped his darkness grow.

tutti frutti. I agree with you there. Eraqus should have look at this more as an opportunity to help Terra as opposed to showing him the front door and putting him down like that. This pretty much came around and stabbed him in the back....(pun intended). Yen Sid saw that Riku was will to control the darkness in order to help Kairi, and eventually Sora. This showed that Riku learned from his mistakes about darkness, and to think about his actions and learn the consequences. Yen Sid more so seems to go on how the individual goes on their actions - example: Riku wanting to help his friends; MX wanting Kingdom Hearts and the X-Blade. I think Yen Sid made a great choice in giving Riku the benefit of the doubt.
