hatok 6,413 Posted October 11, 2011 They could have made this game alot better if they made it like Birth by Sleep so everybody could have there on abilities and moves and also not have the whole game in a mission based format Considering the game predates BBS, was made in about a quarter of the time as BBS, made by a team who had never made a KH game before, and was on the DS, what we got is probably about as good as it could have gotten. 4 MarluXia777, SoraKH, waytothexdawnx and 1 other reacted to this

RoxaSoraXIII 40 Posted October 12, 2011 The game is very good. Changes aren't necessary.
MAtgS 70 Posted October 12, 2011 No its not. Yes they are. The game was an exercise in how much repetition they could get away with. Worlds we've already been to in past games we're now going to over & over in this one. Mission types are done over & over. The same heartless are recycled in different colors over & over. Even the super-powered bonus boss is a palette swap. After completing story mode you can replay the exact same missions again in multiplayer. There's literally no new content in multiplayer aside from characters. They cut the Pinochio world because story mode was getting too long, why not make it multiplayer exclusive? Same missions with the same heartless designs in the same worlds over & over. Over & over. Combat is barebones, not much better than KH1 & a huge step down from KH2. The same team on the same handheld pulled off the command deck why weren't they doing it for Days? The main crutch of the gameplay is playing as different characters, which doesn't happen in the story mode. would've been great to have missions for other org members but nope, Roxas only. Disney elements were wasted. Characters barely appear, they rarely interact with Roxas & there's almost no Disney bosses. Why no Hook fight, or Hades, or freaking Gaston? This would've been the perfect time for Gaston to finally appear but no. Why does Beast listens to a word Xaldin says? Would've been nice to learn how Xaldin won the Beast's trust but apparently that wasn't important to cover in Beast's Castle. We end up learning more about the org in BBS than in their own game. We spent 4 games building up to the Roxas/Riku fight only for it to be anti-climatic & overshadowed by the Xion fight.
riku1123 11 Posted October 12, 2011 I think that it was a game that doesn't need to be changed at all
roxas-rei 24 Posted October 12, 2011 I also agree that it was a darn good game. Yeah, the missions did get a little bit repetitive, but I was mostly interested in the story line and watching all of the cut scenes. It's actually the first KH game I ever played, and it is still one of my favorites after played both Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. The only thing that they could improve on is the graphics in the cut scenes... but overall, the story line was great. I didn't mind the fighting style at all. 1 Kinode reacted to this

Even the super-powered bonus boss is a palette swap. So every game has to have completely new mission objectives for every mission? Seems a bit ridiculous to me. Mission based games are usually about facing harder and harder versions of the same mission type. Never mind that most of the missions are very different from one another, some of which have never been seen before. Each world has new places to explore as well. About the heartless, on a handheld like the DS, in order to save space, palette swaps are common. There's no way around it. Would you rather fight a bunch of palette swaps, or the exact same enemy? After completing story mode you can replay the exact same missions again in multiplayer. There's literally no new content in multiplayer aside from characters. They cut the Pinochio world because story mode was getting too long, why not make it multiplayer exclusive? Same missions with the same heartless designs in the same worlds over & over. Except, you know, the multiplayer had the whole crown thing, and all the enemies are tougher. And there are restrictions etc. The Pinocchio world was cut for an unknown reason. Square never really mentioned it, people just found the data inside the DS cartridge when they extracted sprites and such (And then Nomura talked a bit about it and that was that). It is heavily implied that the Pinocchio world was cut becuase there was no time to finish it. Gee, it's almost as if this game is being made on a less powerful system or something. Beyond that, the team that gave us the command deck was the Birth By Sleep team, the team that made Day and Re:Coded was H.A.N.D. Disney elements were wasted. Characters barely appear, they rarely interact with Roxas & there's almost no Disney bosses. Why no Hook fight, or Hades, or freaking Gaston? This would've been the perfect time for Gaston to finally appear but no. Models take up space. My guess is that Days didn't have the resources to have Disney villain models made. There's also little chance of a new Disney villain appearing in an outsourced game. Also, it's not like there's no plot excuse for this. Why does Beast listens to a word Xaldin says? Would've been nice to learn how Xaldin won the Beast's trust but apparently that wasn't important to cover in Beast's Castle. We end up learning more about the org in BBS than in their own game. I do agree here, I was hoping this game would do more than foreshadow the REAL new stuff we'd find in BBS. We spent 4 games building up to the Roxas/Riku fight only for it to be anti-climatic & overshadowed by the Xion fight. That was the best fight in the ga- Wait, what? Spent four games building up to Riku/Roxas? Wait a sec... KH1- previews the fight CoM- Never says anything about it KH2- References the fight Days- Has the fight So what four games are you talking about? Comments in bold. Kishira 2,854 Posted October 12, 2011 I didn't like this game, it was repetitve as hell and overly dramatic. A game focusing on Roxas and more insite on the Organization? Pfft, no. Shoulda just advertized it how it was, a game about Roxas and a puppet they shove room for...oh, and Axel's there too.
Obi-wan 411 Posted October 13, 2011 I think it was a game that didn't need any changes at all. I liked the challenges and how it was set up so quit complaining about it.
dusk 910 Posted October 14, 2011 yes, battle style werent best what have been in KH but its story is good and mission mode with friends is fun to play.
Lu Xun 2,069 Posted December 7, 2011 Particularly, I did not like 358/2 days fighting system much... I prefer the ones in KH1 or KH2.. But I guess they like to change it? Missions were fun, in a part. It was something complete new to the series, so it was not that bad.
replika13 455 Posted December 8, 2011 i agree, but i think they didnt have enough good ideas to fill main plot of game.
King Riku 2,063 Posted December 22, 2011 The game is great as is. It's the first kh game I saw/played, and if it wasn't I wouldn't be here right now. It's just a filler, it doesn't have to be perfect, just good enough to explain what happened. I actually liked the fighting style more than in kh2, especially how you can see combos without hitting an enemy.
