Introduction: “Well, they say that all worlds are connected by one big sky.” ( Riku in BbS )

 

I was thinking a lot about that sentence. So, does the world of that big sky exist? I made up one, from the help of one comic I found on the internet.

 

World of the big sky is similar to the Heaven where angels live, but only the white winged. The black winged live in the lanes between, because they’re angels of death. They follow people just before they die and bring their soul into emptiness, when white – winged ones have a far more different job. There are Star Keepers and Guardians.

 

Stars are very important, because they decide birth and live. Every person has a star of live. If the star has a circle, it means that he has brother or the sister. If its star is connected to another star, it means that it has a friend. Angels have stars as well and they are born directly from it. They have no parents, only Guardians, who take care of them.

 

The main job of Guardians is to take care of the young ones and teach them to use their powers, until they’re old enough to join the Up Side. Heaven haves Up and Down Side. On the Up Side are stars and living places of the Star Keepers. Down Side is the place for the young ones and their Guardians. The whole area is actually a training ground and young ones are not allowed to leave it until they learn to control their powers.

 

In our story we meet Aqua as the Guardian, who takes care of four young angels: Sora, Riku, Kairi and Ven. All except Riku are 4 years old (Riku is 5 years old). They are all a very good friends and Aqua is like a big sister for them. Their lives are peaceful, until two black – winged angels decide to use one of them for their goal: to get a control of the Up Side. Black winged angels cannot enter nor the Up or Down Side, because of the wall shield.

Chapter One: Black Feathers

 

Aqua: Sora, Riku! Can’t you fight outside? You’re just gonna make a mess here!

 

Two boys looked at her with those cute big eyes.

 

Sora: But Aqua. It’s ten times cooler in here than outside.

Riku: Yeah, there are no obstacles outside.

Aqua: Fine! Then no cookies for you two.

 

They quickly ran outside, to continue their fight with wooden swords. Aqua smiled. Those magic words always worked. Kairi and Ven loudly laughed in the kitchen.

 

Aqua: What’s so funny?

Kairi: They would do anything for cookies!

Ven: Yeah! And in the end Sora will eat them all.

Aqua: Well, better go back to work if we wanna do some cookies.

 

Ven already made dough for cookies and Kairi rolled it. The only thing left was their favorite part. Making shapes with cookie cutters! In the end cookies were in all sorts of shapes. Aqua put them in the oven.

 

Aqua: Now we only need to wait for an hour or two.

Ven: That long?

Kairi: But what should we do till then?

Aqua: Draw something nice for me, while I clean the kitchen.

 

Kids happily went to the living room, where their paints and papers were. Kairi starter drawing in the moment she got paints in her tiny hands.

 

Ven: What should I draw? I don’t have any ideas.

Kairi: What about the Sun Fall? They’re so beautiful.

Ven: Good idea.

 

He started drawing, when he heard Riku’s shout from outside.

 

Riku: Aqua! Come quick outside!

Aqua: *worried* What’s the matter?

Riku: Something’s wrong with Sora!

 

She quickly ran outside. After some time passed, she returned with Sora who was crying. Kairi and Ven were confused. That wasn’t the Sora they knew. Usually, Sora was loud and cheerful, not such a crybaby.

 

Aqua: *to Riku* What happened?

Riku: We had a sword fight, when my sword simply flew away. I went to picked it and when I returned Sora was crying.

Aqua: But from what?

Ven:*shocked* What is that?

 

His finger was pointed into a black, sharp thing in Sora’s wing. Aqua tried to remove it.

 

Sora:*screams from the pain* No… it… hurts!

Aqua: Jeez, I gonna call Eraques . He’ll know what to do.

 

She quickly took her Wayfinder device, to contact Up Side.

 

Up Side Center: Here’s the Up Side Center, who is calling and who do you want to speak with?

Aqua: It’s Guardian Aqua and I wish to speak with Eraques. And can you hurry? It’s an emergency!

Up Side Center: Please, wait a moment

Eraques: What’s the matter Aqua?

Aqua: I’m not sure, but it looks very bad. Can you please come? I don’t know what to do.

Eraques: I’ll be on my way.

Aqua: Thank you.

 

Meanwhile Sora still cried. Ven tried to cheer him up.

 

Ven: Come on Sora, you’ll be alright.

Sora: *still cries* But it hurts!

 

The whole time Riku was quiet. Kairi sensed something just isn’t right with him. He was looking a way more serious than usual. And his eyes were trying to hide something.

 

Kairi: Riku? What’s the matter?

Riku: *surprised* What? No, nothing’s wrong.

 

She didn’t believe that, so she quickly looked at Riku’s back. He also had a black shard in his wing. Kairi now realized how hard was for him, to hide that pain.

 

Kairi: Why didn’t you tell Aqua about this?

Riku: I didn’t want to make her worry.

Ven: *sees a shard* But that will make her worry even more!

Aqua: What will make me worry? *sees a shard in Riku’s wing* Oh, Riku, why didn’t you tell me about this? And how come you’re not crying.

Riku: Sora got this shard in a very sensitive part of his wing. I didn’t, but it still hurts a bit.

Aqua: I can’t do anything right now, but Eraques is coming.

 

 

 

On a hollow world, two dark – winged angels met. One of them had pretty weird feathers.

 

???: So, what did you find? It better be a good one.

???: Two boys… With my feather shards, I can feel their memories, their personalities, their lights…

???: Then you did found out a way how to enter Down Side.

???: I can’t, but my feathers can.

???: What did you found out about those boys? Are they perfect for our plan?

???: I don’t know exactly. The first one is very cheerful, kind and funny, but when I hit him with a feather shard, he started crying.

???: Pathetic! He isn’t good. I need the one who can handle a pain!

???: The second one has kinda cold, but he has a cheerful personality as well. And the shard didn’t do much pain to him.

???: Well, this one could kinda do… but, no! If he’s a cold, he can turn against me. Are here any others? I heard that Guardians can have more than one young angel.

???: If I recall correctly, there are also one girl and another boy.

???: No, I won’t use a girl! Found out as much as you can about that other boy!

???: Yes, I’ll do it.

 

With those words he raised his black wings and flew towards the Down Side.

Chapter Two: Sun Fall

Soon after Aqua called, Eraques arrived to their home. He was quiet, while he was looking on the shard in Sora’s and Riku’s wing.

Eraques: Those… I haven’t seen in years.

Aqua: But, what are those?

Eraques: They’re actually feathers from black – winged angels, who were effected by Metal spell. If they’re effected by this spell, their feathers completely transform into the metal ones. Some of them can even shot with feathers, like they’re arrows. Even the hardest obstacles can’t stop them.

Aqua: Why would they shot on two young angels?

Eraques: That I cannot answer.

Aqua: I see… anyway, can you take of those shards from them?

Eraques: It will be very painful, so I’ll cast Sleeping spell on them.

Aqua: Ok, you just tell what do you need and I’ll help.

After that Eraques took Sora and Riku into their room. Ven and Kairi were about to go in too, but Aqua shook with her head.

Aqua: No, you two wait in the living room.

Ven: *sadly* Will they’ll be alright?

Aqua: *puts her hands on Ven’s shoulders* Don’t worry, Eraques will heal them.

Kairi: Can we at least go watch the Sun Fall? *makes a cute face* Please?

Aqua: *sighs* Alright, you can go, but stay away from the wall shield and…

Ven: … don’t talk to the strangers and don’t do anything unusually stupid.

Aqua: Yeah, that’s it. And don’t stay outside too long.

Kairi: No need to worry, we’ll be back just after the Sun Fall.

Kairi and Ven went to the bench that was outside their house. For some time they were just staring into a sun in the sky. Their favorite part was just before Sun disappeared. In that moment it started changing its colors like a rainbow. Unfortunately they didn’t see much from their house.

Ven: Let’s go to the wall shield. Maybe we’ll see it better!

Kairi: But we promised Aqua that we won’t.

Ven: We’ll be back, before she’ll notice.

Kairi: Ok…

After all she didn’t have much choice. It was hard to convince Ven into something else, when he was for something. Now they were standing right in front of the wall shield. They both never had seen a sun that big before. Sun already started changing colors. First was Riku’s favorite – green. Then golden yellow, Sora’s favorite. The third was bright blue, Aqua’s favorite. It was followed by Kairi’s favourite – pink and the last one was red. Ven never truly understand why is red his favorite color. Maybe, because it’s the last and only one who is seen by the people of other worlds. Maybe because it’s the one who travels the farthest.

Kairi: Ven, we need to go. Aqua will be worried.

Ven: Ok.

He couldn’t shake the feeling that somebody is watching him all the time. But every time he looked back, none was there. When they got home, Eraques was about to leave.

Aqua: Thank you so much. I really don’t know what I would do without you, sir.

Eraques: *smiles* You don’t need to, after all that’s my job. *Kairi and Ven come in the house* And watch over this two too. You’ll never know what it will happen next.

Aqua: I will.

Eraques: Ok, goodbye then.

Eraques flew back to the Up Side.

Aqua: So, anyone wants cookies?

Ven and Kairi: Me!

She smiled and brought a plate with cookies, which were still warm. While they eat them, Aqua looked at their drawings. Kairi drew Aqua with bright blue wings, even thought she had white ones and Ven drew a Sun Fall in all colors. She really liked them.

Aqua: Ok, time for bed. Let me know when you’ll brush your teeth.

Ven and Kairi: Ok.

While they were brushing their teeth, Aqua checked on Sora and Riku. They were both sleeping like little bears. She also checked their swaddling bands on their wings. Why did that dark – winged angel hurt them? Her thinking was broken by Kairi and Ven, who came into room. Aqua needed to help them put their pajamas on, because they were still unable to move their wings. She took Kairi’s and gently pushed her wings through the slots on her pajama. The same was with Ven. In the end all her little angels were in beds.

Aqua: Ok, good night you two.

Ven and Kairi: Good night Aqua!

She turned off the lights and went to sleep.

 

Outside of their house someone talked to the Dark Wayfinder device.

???: So, did you manage to found out more about that boy?

???: I did. And I think he’s the perfect one. I didn’t need to use the shards, because I could feel his personality.

???: You mean, you’re in Down Side?

???: Yeah, I used my shards to make a hole in the wall shield. But I can’t use them for the Up Side. Its shield is a way too protected.

???: Then bring me that other boy, so we can complete our plan.

???: I can’t right now. I’ll do it tomorrow, when can I use my Shadow spell. If I’ll kidnap him without Shadow spell, they’ll found out what are we planning.

???: Ok, then hide and wait till the next night.

???: You can count on me, Xehanort.

Chapter Three: Runaway

The next day was a way more peaceful than usual. It usually began with loudly Sora and Riku, who wake up first and began to making noise all over the house. But today they didn’t wake up because of the Sleeping spell Eraques used last evening. Those effected by it slept for exact 24 hours. Ven and Kairi woke up and went to the kitchen. Aqua was already there, making pancakes.

Kairi: Yay! Aqua you’re the best!

Ven: Pancakes for breakfast!

Aqua: *smiles* Glide you like it. Kairi? Could you please put plates on the table?

Kairi: Sure.

Aqua: And Ven? Could you go in the cellar to get marmalades and chocolate syrup?

Ven: Yeah.

After some time passed, they were eating their breakfast. Aqua read the newspaper, while Ven and Kairi watched TV.

Ven: Can we watch “Sephiroth – The Legendary Angel”?

Aqua: What kind of movie is it?

Kairi: I think it’s an adventure, nothing serious.

Aqua: Ok, but don’t fall in the movie too much.

She went to the kid’s room, to change Sora’s and Riku’s swaddling bands. Wounds seem better then yesterday. Suddenly she heard screaming voices from TV.

TV: You can’t hide from me! *screams* I will revenge my friend’s death! *fighting voices* Give up while you can or die!

Aqua: What are you two watching?

The dark – winged angel on TV was about to stab a white – winged one with his long sword. Aqua turned off the TV.

Kairi: Why did you do that?

Ven: Yeah that was the best part!

Aqua: I think you have enough TV for today. Let’s go dress up and go to the garden.

Ven and Kairi: *disappointedly* Ok…

Aqua needed to help them dress up. She dressed Ven into a white jumper with black star and grey pants. For some time, Kairi was just deciding what to put on. In the end she chosen pink dress and red jacked. When they were all ready, Aqua squatted that Ven and Kairi could climb into her lap. She raised her wings and flew towards the garden.

Outside of the house was a shadow, waiting for them to leave. He quietly went into the house and searched for the kid’s room. And there it was. Yellow walls were covered by many drawings and pictures. Shadow looked at the pictures in detail. On one was that guardian, holding four small baby angels at once. The second seem a bit older. On it were that kid who cried and a girl making a drawing on the paper. But the third one seemed the most interesting. There he was his target. Shadow looked around the room to find a paper and pencil, when he found another drawing. On it was a Sun Fall with barely readable words: From Ven, to Aqua.

???: It will be hard to make a false message…

He kinda copied Ven’s writing on paper and put it in his pocket. Now all he needed to do was to hide and wait for Ven. He looked around to found a perfect hideout. In the end he hid under Ven’s bed. Effected by Shadow spell none could see him, only his shadow was wondering around. It was a late afternoon when he heard voices from the outside.

Aqua: Time for your afternoon rest.

Kairi: Can’t we watch TV a bit?

Ven: Yeah, we haven’t watched “Lighting’s Adventures”.

Aqua: You’ll watch it tomorrow, now you need to rest a bit. You were pretty active on the playground.

After that, girl and boy came in the room. Girl fell asleep in the moment she laid on the bed. Boy didn’t seem to be tired. But soon he was. He fell in a deep sleep. Now it was time for shadow to begin his work. First he checked on the Guardian. She was resting in her room with receivers in her ears.

???: *quietly* Perfect! That stupid bluebird won’t notice a thing.

He sneaked back into kid’s room. His target was deeply sleeping. From his pocked he took a white cape. It wasn’t the usual one, but perfect one for kidnapping. Slowly, he put it on the boy, who didn’t feel a thing. When he was about to leave with Ven, Kairi suddenly woke up. She saw a floating Ven in the air, covered by white cape.

Kairi: *hides her head under the pillow* That’s gotta be a nightmare! Maybe if I’ll sleep back it will disappear. *falls in sleep again*

???: That was a close one.

He took a paper from his pocket and left it on Ven’s bed.

Ven still though he’s in bed. Usually he woke up if someone took a blanket from him. But this time he didn’t, because of the cape.

Shadow carried him outside, where he got rid of his shadow spell and reveal his scary metal wings. While he was swinging with them to fly, they began to make a very loud noise. Noise that woke Ven up! He truly opened his eyes when they went through the hole in wall shield. Unfortunately, Ven had a fear from highs.

Ven: *screams* Where are you taking me? My home is in that way!

???: *hits him* Shut up, you little brat! And trust me; you don’t wanna know where you’re going.

Ven : *tries to get off of his grip*

???: Try not to struggle kiddo. If you do, you’ll fall in the lanes between.

That was the main problem. Dark – winged angel kidnapped him to use him for something. Ven

didn’t want that. Because of the cape, he was unable to move and yet if he’ll get off of darkwing’s grip, he couldn’t run away.

Ven didn’t know how to fly.

And yet he knew that he needs to return back home or something bad will happen. He strongly bitted darkwing’s finger.

???: *yells from the pain* Why you little!

Ven: *bites his finger again*

This time it hurt some much that he released Ven. Little angel prepared for crush on the unknown world. Dark winged angel tried to catch him, but he couldn’t fly that fast duo to his metal feathers.

???: Great! Xehanort’s gonna kill me!

 

Back in the Down Side, Aqua finally took off receives and decided to check on the kids. Kairi deeply sleep on her bed, with head under the pillow. But when she looked on Ven’s bed, she saw only a paper. Ven wasn’t there anymore. She tried not to panic, so she checked all other rooms. And still she couldn’t find him. She also looked on the paper. On it was something written with Ven’s writing.

I’m sorry to tell you that, but can’t be here anymore. I decided to leave that house and live somewhere else.

Aqua: *confused* What? Why would Ven run away from home just like that?

Chapter Four: Friendly Stranger

 

Another working day was over. Terra was about to leave the lab, when Even stopped him.

 

Even: So, did you find out anything new?

Terra: I’m not exactly sure. The artifact from the last year is pretty mysterious and yet, I haven’t found out where it came from.

Even: Well, we’ll see tomorrow in the morning right? Or you have something else to do?

Terra: Don’t worry. I’ll come to help you study that thing.

Even: Goodbye then.

Terra: Bye.

 

He sat on his motorcycle and drove towards home. His work in the lab was hard, but interesting. Every day he found something new and he studied that, until he found out everything about it.

His thinking was broken by the big explosion in Outer Gardens. He quickly turned his motorcycle in the direction that smoke was coming. Could it be a meteor shower or a shooting star? Even and Terra even wrote a book “What can fall from the sky?”

 

Terra: Well, worse than try.

 

Fontana in Outer Gardens was completely destroyed by something that crushed in it. There was still some water in it along with some white things. Terra took one of it. It was a white feather that was incredibly soft and bright. Was bird the one who crushed in it? Slowly, he stepped closer to something that was laying in Fontana. It seemed like, that something was covered by white cape. He took it in his arms and carefully removed its hood, to reveal its light ruffled hair and unusually big closed eyes.

Terra was holding a very small boy who seemed injured. His face and arms were covered by several cuts and bruises. Terra removed the cape from him to see if he has any injuries on his back. But when he did, was shocked.

Little boy had wings! So, boy is an angel who fell from the Heaven. For some time Terra just didn’t know what to do. Boy seemed in a very bad shape, but how to get him to his apartment without being noticed? Without a second thought he put the boy on his motorcycle, right in the moment Even came.

 

Even: Wow, have you seen that?

Terra: Yeah, but right now I need to go home. A friend of mine needs help.

Even: Ok, see you tomorrow.

 

Luckily it was already dark, so Even didn’t see a boy on his motorcycle.

Terra’s home was just a simple apartment with four rooms and a bathroom. When he came inside, he carefully put a little angel on sofa. He turned on the lights to look over his wounds.

It turned out that boy’s condition was worse than he thought. On his cheek were two big cuts that were both still bleeding. His left arm was blue, because of the bruisers. The chest was completely covered by cuts and bruises. And yet, the left wing seemed to be broken. But that wasn’t all. Boy was burning up!

 

Terra: Oh, great.

 

He washed up the blood and put sticking – pesters on the cuts. Around the wing, he put swaddling band. He didn’t know if it’ll work out, but he wasn’t able to do anything else. In the end he finally covered him with a blanket.

 

Terra: Sweet dreams, kid.

 

Before he went in bed, he phoned to Even.

 

Even: What’s the matter Terra?

Terra: I afraid that I won’t be able to come for a week or two. Friend’s nephew has a fever and I need to babysit him.

Even: Oh, well… that’s too bad. See you next week then.

Terra: Ok.

 

While he was trying to fall asleep, he thought a lot about that little angel. How did he come here? And why?

 

 

 

Eraques: I don’t think he’d run away just like that. It’s in the nature of the young angel to stick with his Guardian until he’s older enough.

Aqua: But, what happened then?

Eraques: I’m not sure, but it looks like something took him. It could be the same thing that attacked Sora and Riku.

Aqua: *bursts out crying* If I would be a better Guardian, that wouldn’t happen!

Eraques: Listen! Every Guardian makes mistakes, even I did. Aqua?

 

But Aqua didn’t listen. Her mind was traveling back in her memories, when she just becomes a Guardian. Two days after that she got her wards. Eraques was there to, standing beside a playpen. When she looked in it, she thought that’s the cutest thing she ever saw. In it were Sora and Riku who were playing with each other’s hair and Kairi who was just smiling.

 

Aqua: *takes Sora in her arms* Aren’t you the cutest thing?

Eraques: *smiles* This one is Sora.

Aqua: Nice to meet you, I’m Aqua.

Sora: Ak…uu… waah.

Aqua: *smiles*

Eraques: The other two are Kairi and Riku. Sora and Kairi were born on the same day and now are exactly 3 months old.

 

Angels needed to be at least 2 months old when Guardian takes them.

 

Aqua: But why Riku looks some much older?

Eraques: He’s 1 year and 2 months old.

Aqua: You mean he’s been here for a whole year? Why?

Eraques: Well… we did have some problems with his personality. He used to be very aggressive and cold, so none wanted him. But then he met Sora and completely changed. Now they’re like brothers.

Aqua: I see… they’re so sweet.

Eraques: Now you can take them home.

Aqua: Sure… *sees something* Hey! What’s that?

 

Her eyes were pointed in a something obstructed with curtains. She went closer and pulled them. There was a small bed with another angel with light ruffled hair. He didn’t look well and yet he was deeply sleeping.

 

Eraques: *sighs* That’s Ventus.

Aqua: Why is he here and not in a playpen with others?

Eraques: He was born by sleep.

Aqua: What do you mean?

Eraques: He was born on the same day as Sora and Kairi, but he never truly woke up. We don’t know why.

Aqua: *sadly* Poor thing…

 

She couldn’t help herself from taking him in her arms. His little body was warm. While she was looking at his face she sensed something. Like something blinked deep inside him.

In that moment his eyes twitched. His eyebrows moved a bit as his eyes slowly opened. Aqua was surprised as well as Eraques was.

 

Aqua: Can I take him?

Eraques: *still surprised* Why… sure! It looks like he chose you to be his Guardian. But you’ll need to be extra careful with him.

Aqua: Don’t worry, I’ll watch over him the most. I promise you that!

 

Now she stood outside her house, thinking how she broke that promise…

Chapter Five: Where am I?

 

Terra couldn’t sleep. All he could think of was wounded angel who was laying in his living room. What will happen when he’ll woke up? Will he’ll able to go home? Thinking of which, does he really live in Heaven? Terra’s mind was full of questions, when he finally woke up. He went to living room, to see that angel was still there. Angel hasn’t moved from yesterday’s position. Terra went closer to see angel’s condition. In fact it seemed worse than yesterday. Boy was heavily breathing duo to his fever. Terra quickly opened one of his books where he found a salvation for that.

 

If someone with a fever, heavily breathes, that means his throat is dry. To get this problem solved, it needs to drink something warm.

 

Without a second thought he made some tea and put it a mug. But boy wasn’t able to drink it, because he was still deeply sleeping. Terra sighed and started looking for a box that Even borrow him, when he was babysitting his nephew, Ienzo. He finally found it in his wardrobe. While he was poking around the box, he tried to assessed angel’s age. His size was unusually small, so he was about 4 or 5 years old. Maybe he’s even younger.

Terra finally found a baby bottle he was looking for. He felt a bit like a nanny (stupid), but there wasn’t any other way how to let him drink the tea. In the end he was holding him in his arms, while he gave him to drink from baby bottle. After that his breathing seemed a bit better. He even opened his eyes!

 

Terra: Well, hello there little guy! It’s good to see that you’re awake.

Ven: *stares, doesn’t say a thing*

Terra: You’re not very talkative are you?

Ven: *still stares*

Terra: Hey, it’s ok, I’m not gonna hurt you. In fact it looks like someone did.

Ven: *sadly, looks around his wounds*

Terra: Could you at least tell me your name? Its ok, if you don’t want to.

Ven: … Ve… n… tus…

Terra: Ventus? That’s kinda long name for you. Mind if I call you Ven?

Ven: *shakes with his head*

Terra: Nice to meet you then Ven, I’m Terra.

Ven: … Te… rra…

Terra: *smiles* That’s right, Terra.

 

Ven still seemed to be very tired, so he put him back on the sofa and covered him with a blanket. In the same moment he fell asleep.

 

Terra: Ven….

 

 

 

In hollow world, magic spells were flying all over.

 

Xehanort: *angrily* Is the metal only thing in your head? How could you lose an angel that can’t even fly!!!

Braig: *frightened* I’m sorry master… it looks like he’s much stronger….

Xehanort: Or you’re more stupid than I thought!!! *casts another spell*

Braig: *dodges the spell* But he bit me.

Xehanort: *laughably* So, you’re saying that you released him just because he bit you?

Braig: Yes… but I can find him, before others can! He’s still alive.

Xehanort: He better be! Or we’ll never finish our plan.

 

 

 

After Ven fell asleep, Terra decided to write his own report about Ven. Maybe he’ll learn more about him if he’ll write down his thoughts. He went in his study and started writing:

 

Terra’s Report 1:

 

I still can’t believe what I found in Outer Gardens. An angel, who fell from the Heaven! Well, I’m not really sure if he’s from there, but I’ll found out.

It looks like something attacked him. But what could hurt so young angel? Anyway, he’s in a very bad shape right now. Cuts, bruisers, wounds and even his wing seem to be broken. I did the best I could to heal him and yet, he has a fever. I don’t know from where. Maybe he was already sick or he became ill when he fell in that Fontana. Water in it is very cold, especially in the night.

Today I found out his name, Ventus. I really think that’s too long name for him, so I gave him a nickname, Ven. It suits him a way better than Ventus and he also didn’t mind it.

Even would probably kill me if he’ll found out that I have an angel in my house. He’s such science freak if you ask my opinion. But I still think he’s kinda smart and kind. The only thing that’s wrong is his obsession with work. Since I began to live here, he’s working in his lab, trying to found out anything new. He practicality lives in a room that’s next to his lab, along with his nephew Ienzo. That kid seems to be at the same age as Ven, about 4 or 5 years.

I still wonder how he got here. The book I wrote with Even, *What can fall from the sky?* is also about angels. Well, only a few pages that is. Those pages are about creatures that live in a world connected to all other worlds, Heaven. Even believe anything about it, so I need to be extra careful. I don’t want him to become a test sample. Especially not right now, duo to his injuries.

I think that’s enough for one report, so I wrote the rest on the second one.

 

When he finished it, he looked through the window. Rain was slowly falling on the town and lightings started to appear all over the sky.

 

Terra: I wonder… are they really up there?

Chapter Six: Kid’s Thinking

 

After Terra wrote that report, he heard mysterious whispering from the living room. He slowly went in. Ven was tossing and turning on sofa, while he was saying weird words.

 

Terra: Ven? Are you ok?

 

But there was no reply. Suddenly he started breathing very loudly, like he just run a mile. Terra could now understand some of his words.

 

Ven: … let … me… go! … I’m… sorry… Aku… ah So… ra … Kai…ri Ri… ku.

 

Why he was saying all that? Did he dream about something? Without a second thought, Terra brought some more tea. When the warm liquid touched Ven’s mouth, he began to calm down. For some time he was just slowly drinking the tea. Then he finally woke up.

 

Terra: Did you have a nightmare?

Ven: *sadly nods*

Terra: It’s ok, you’re safe here. And after all, it was just a dream.

Ven: No, this was real…

 

Terra surprisingly looked on the boy in his arms. He just said the complete sentence!

 

Terra: How do you mean it was real?

Ven: Because, that really happened… just before I got here.

Terra: What happened?

Ven: It was just after I had afternoon rest. Someone took me from my bed and brought me in the lanes between. He was taking me somewhere, but I didn’t want to, so I bite him and he released me. Then I woke up here and… and…

 

He couldn’t say more. Terra understood. Being taken by something and then waken up in unknown place would scared him too.

 

Terra: You mentioned some names in your sleep. Are those your family?

Ven: Yes… and no.

Terra: Why no?

Ven: We’re not related, but our stars are connected.

 

Suddenly Terra heard a noise. He thought who is making it, but in the end he found out that the noise was caused by Ven’s stomach. Ven was hungry.

 

Ven: *blushes*

Terra: *smiles* Don’t worry I’ll make something for you… by the way what angels eat?

Ven: Anything’s ok…

Terra: Ok, now you wait right here while I’m cooking. You still have a fever, not to mention injuries.

 

Just in case Terra looked again in that book.

 

The best thing for ill person is warm soup.

 

Terra: Oh, come on. To make a soup for a kid? I got a better idea.

 

While Terra cooked, Ven stared in the ceiling. There were a lot of things on his mind. Like, who’s that Terra, where he was and how will he get home… Tear drop slipped down to his cheek while he was thinking about it. Terra noticed that.

 

Terra: What’s wrong?

Ven: *sadly* She will be so mad at me…

Terra: Who?

Ven: Aqua… my Guardian…

Terra: Hey, you don’t need to cry… as soon as your wing recovers, you can go back home.

Ven: *cries* But I don’t know how to fly. I don’t even know how to move my wings.

 

In that moment Terra felt so sorry for him, that he simply took him in his arms and hugged him. Terra was never that close to anybody. Well he did hug some of his friends, but never so close that he could fell their heartbeat. Ven’s heartbeat was very peaceful and pure. Even though Ven was very warm duo to his fever, Terra held him until his tears dried completely.

 

Terra: Listen… I’ll take care of you until you’ll heal up. Then we’ll find a way to get you home and I’ll do anything to help you.

Ven: Thank you… Terra… for everything that you did for me.

Terra: Now let me do that thing for you.

 

He got back in the kitchen and soon returned with a big bowl of milk rice pudding. Boy tried to take a spoon and eat it, but in the end he was unable to, because of bruisers on his arm. Terra sighed and started feeding him like a baby. Ven really liked it, especially because Terra put a lot of chocolate in it. When he ate it, Terra asked him about his family.

 

Ven: Well, I have a Guardian. Those are the ones who take care of the young angels, because we don’t have parents. And I also have three very good friends, who’s Guardian is the same as mine. There are Sora and Riku who are always together and Kairi. *sadly* I missed them…

Terra: That kinda reminds on something… *thinks* *Smart kid.*

Ven: So, how’s your life?

Terra: To tell you the truth I’m not really sure. I lost some of my memories.

Ven: How?

Terra: I don’t have an idea. Four years ago, I was found here. I wasn’t sure where I came from or why I was here, but I met a friend Even who worked in the lab. I kinda liked it and started working there.

Ven: Lab?

Terra: Oh, that’s a place where we are studying unknown things.

Ven: Will I be able to see it?

Terra: No, until you fully recover. *covers him with a blanket* Now you need some sleep.

Ven: Ok, night’.

Terra: Have a nice dream.

 

Terra was now back in his study, writing the new report.

 

Terra’s Report 2:

 

There’s something very sad about him. It looks like that it wasn’t his choice to come down here. He was forced, taken by unknown man. I still don’t get a point. Why did that person do that to him?

He told me all that and I was surprised by it. For the first time he truly talked and he’s so smart for a 4 year old kid.

Something about him feels so familiar, but I don’t know from where. Did I saw somebody like him?

Anyway he also told me something about angels. Interesting… they don’t have parents, only Guardians. I wish to see one of them someday… along with all other thing up there.

Ven mention that he doesn’t know how to fly or even move his wings. Well, that will be a problem. How will he got home or… will he stay with me? NO! That’s stupid! He belongs in Heaven not in some Radiant Garden world. I’ll keep looking for an answer, which will help him home.

And I was also surprised that he liked my cooking!

It’s getting late (actually it’s the middle of the night) so, I’ll finish for today.

Chapter Seven: Looking for an Answer

 

Terra’s Report 3:

 

It’s been a week, since I write here… and Ven is getting better. He’s still a bit scared, but I think he trusts me.His wounds are almost completely healed up. As for the wing… it’s still broken.

Every day seems to be normal and yet, Even didn’t report anything suspicious. He did say that he’s going to study the place where Ven crash landed, so I’m some sorta worried. Why if he finds out about Ven? I won’t let that happen! No way, Ven’s going to be Even’s test subject!

And there are all sorts of interesting things too. He told me that they are two different types of angels: white - winged and black – winged. White – winged like him live in Heaven and black – winged wonder in the lanes between. I don’t know why, but every time I think about them my head hurts. Maybe that’s because I’m tired or because I’m… scared… Don’t know where that came from…

Anyway one of black – winged is also the reason why’s Ven here. That creep kidnapped him for unknown thing! One more reason why I need to be careful! Not only Even, but him too. Man, why is the world like that?

I need to finish now, Ven’s hungry… again.

 

Terra carefully rolled the paper and put it in the box that was under his bed.

 

Terra:*thinks* Just in case…

 

Then he went to the living room, where Ven was watching TV.

 

Ven: Is it lunch already?

Terra:*smiles* Not yet, but it will be soon.

Ven: Ok…

 

Noodles were almost fully cooked, when Terra began to make a sauce for it. While cooking, Terra thought a lot about a phone call that he had with Even last night.

 

Even: Come on Terra! It’s been a week since we last meet. I need you in a lab!

Terra: But the friend’s nephew is still sick. I can’t just leave him.

Even: Not even for an hour or two?

Terra: If it’s really for an hour or two then…

Even: Then, you’ll come tomorrow afternoon?

Terra: Ok, but don’t be mad at me if I’ll go home sooner.

Even: Right!

 

That conversation was pretty weird. Why does Even needs him? His thinking was broken by the sauce that was ready. He put plates on the table and food on them. When he was about to put noodles on Ven’s plate, he thought about something.

 

Terra: Maybe he’s better than yesterday…

 

Ven usually eat on the sofa, duo to his illness and injuries. Since the day Terra found him, he hasn’t moved from that spot. But maybe he can move to the table.

 

Terra: *goes to Ven* Eh… Ven?

Ven: Yes?

Terra: It’s just that I been wondering… can you stand up… or maybe walk?

Ven: *unsure* I don’t know… but I can try.

Terra: Just don’t do it too fast or you’ll hurt yourself.

Ven: It’s ok, I can do this.

 

Little angel carefully touched the floor with his tiny legs. It was kinda strange to feel it, since he was laying for about a week. His legs were still flabby, but he was leaning on the wall.

 

Terra: It’s ok, you’re doing great. Just a few steps and you’ll come to the chair.

Ven: *walks towards the table and smiles* Yay, I can walk!!!

 

But his smile soon disappeared. Just before he reached the table, he stumbled and hit the table with his head.

 

Terra: *worried* Ven, are you ok?

Ven: It hurts…

 

Terra quickly ran to the fridge and took some ice from it. He put it on Ven’s bump and carried him to the chair.

 

Terra: You need to be more careful.

Ven: *sighs* I know… Aqua told me that many times. *smiles* She also said that sometimes I’m such a lubber and yet she didn’t really mean it.

Terra: What do you mean?

Ven: I was always the one whose Aqua watched over the most. I don’t know why, but she said I wasn’t born like others.

Terra: *carefully listens*

Ven: Sora, Riku and Kairi… they all awake the same day that they were born. I didn’t. I was sleeping… three months… since I was born. None knew if I’ll wake up. But one day Aqua came to pick Sora, Riku and Kairi everything changed. Just before she left, she saw me. I don’t know why, but in the moment she touched me I woke up.

 

After that Ven just stared in the ceiling, like he was trying to reach Heaven. Terra stared too. In Ven’s unusually big and shiny blue eyes.

In the same moment Aqua stared in the lanes between.

 

Eraques: Are you sure about this?

Aqua: Completely!

Eraques: I know that you are but… it’s been a week since… you know what. And others still haven’t found him.

Aqua: They didn’t look on the right places and yet they don’t even know if he’s alive. That kind of landing on any world would be a lot for him. Why if he’s seriously injured or maybe something even worse?

Eraques: I understand. Just try to act calm and don’t think about it.

Aqua: Right!

 

Since the day that Ven disappeared, she was preparing herself to find him. She also called Eraques, to watch over her wards while she’s gone. Now she was preparing to leave.

 

Sora, Riku, Kairi: *come in the room* Please, don’t go. We don’t wanna lose you just like Ven.

Aqua: *gives them a big hug* Shhh, it’s alright. I’ll be back in no time, along with Ven.

Kairi: *starts crying*

Aqua: Hey what’s the matter?

Kairi: *in tears* It’s my fault that he was kidnapped!

Aqua: What are you saying Kairi?

Kairi: I saw how some strange shadow took him. I thought it was just a night mare and went back to sleep. I’m so sorry.

 

For that moment everything stopped. So there was really someone who took him, he didn’t run away. She couldn’t blame Kairi for that. Kairi is just a young angel who didn’t understand what was going on.

 

Aqua: *hugs Kairi* Listen, the only one to blame is the one who took him in the first place. Not you. Not anybody else.

Kairi: Please come back safe.

Aqua:*smiles* I will, don’t worry. I promise!

Kairi: *takes the thing from her pocket* Take this. It’s a lucky charm that I made along with Ven. Maybe it will bring luck.

Aqua: Thank you Kairi.

 

With those words she raised her wings and flew into endless lanes between, to find the world where Ven landed. Her wards were sadly looking at her until she fully disappeared in fog.

 

Meanwhile Van and Terra already ate their lunch. And as usual Ven liked Terra’s cooking.

 

Terra: Eh… Ven? Could you spend some time alone?

Ven: Why’s that?

Terra: I really have to go back in lab and…

Ven: Can I come with you? I want to see it!!!

Terra: But you’re still a bit sick.

Ven: Come on, please!!!

Terra: Okay, but you’ll need to hide your wings or Even will take you as a test subject.

Ven: What’s a test subject?

Terra: Something that you don’t want to know it.

 

After that Terra brought one of his coats and wrapped Ven in it. Coat successfully hid both of his wings. When they both got out, Ven weirdly looked in the sky.

 

Ven: Why are stars falling down?

Terra:*smiles* Those aren’t starts. It’s snowing.

Ven: What is snowing?

Terra: That’s a nature phenomenon that happens every winter. It will be Christmas soon.

Ven: What’s Christmas?

Terra: That’s… well… I tell you that next time. It’s kinda hard to explain.

 

They were already in front of the giant castle doors. There were also two guards, who stood still like a statues. Terra confidently entered, while Ven shook.

 

Terra: Hey, what’s wrong?

Ven: Those guards were so scary.

Terra: Actually they’re real nice and… oh, hi there Even.

 

A man with long light brown hair came, holding a bunch of folders.

 

Even: So you’re that boy who’s Terra been busy with.

Ven: *hides behind Terra, shaking*

Terra: Can he wait in Ienzo’s room, while we work?

Even: Of course! I bet Ienzo will be happy to finally have some company.

Terra: Ven? You see that door in the end of the corridor? You wait there until we finish with our work.

Ven: But what about the lab?

Terra: You’ll see it after we finish. For now just wait there.

Ven: Alright. *goes towards the door*

 

When Ven left, Terra and Even went in the lab. While Terra was getting in the lab coat, Even arranged all the folders he held.

 

Terra: Why do you need me here?

Even: Well actually I really wanted to show you something.

 

Even opened one of his folders and took some photos from it. On them were different positions of the ruined Fontana from Outer Gardens. Almost every detail was caught on photos.

 

Terra: You have been studying the thing that crashed the Fontana? Maybe it was just another meteor or…

Even: Wait! That’s not all.

 

From the drawer, he took a plastic bag. Terra was a bit shocked when he saw white feathers in it.

 

Even: Since when meteors have feathers?

Terra: Maybe it was a bird.

Even: Already checked that, but those feathers don’t match any bird from our world. Feathers are a way too soft and bright for usual bird.

Terra: What do you think then?

Even: Our birdie came from another world and that’s not only thing that bugs me.

 

He took another plastic bag from the drawer. In it was a piece of white fabric.

 

Even: Birdie was wearing something, when it landed.

Terra: Are you really sure about this? You know it could be just a piece of someone else’s cloth that was blown to the Fontana.

Even: Hey, don’t you remember our book?

Terra: Even, if you want to tell me that you think those are…

Even: … feathers of an angel!!!

Terra: … you’re terribly wrong! Creatures like them don’t even exist! They’re just a fairy tale.

Even: But haven’t you said that you believe in them?

Terra: I used to… but not anymore.

Even: Suit yourself! I’m gonna study that until I find an answer.

Terra: But soon it will be Christmas! Aren’t you gonna have a vacation like every year?

Even: I will. *thinks a bit* By the way, how’s that boy doing?

Terra: You mean Ven? He still needs some rest. The only reason why he came here it’s because he wants to see the lab.

Even: Cool, then I’ll show it to him!

wow this is good, just a thought though i have a funny feeling tht sooner or later Even will learn that Ven is an angel (whether thats when he comes into the lab and somehow Ven loses his coat that conceals his wings or something i dnt know). Anyway cant wait for next chapter
