Lalalablah 1,538 Posted July 18, 2013 ***********Anyways back on topic, I hate when people call others "fake" just for applying extra stuff. For example, I hate when people call me fake for wearing wigs and fake eyelashes. Well, should I call YOU fake for wearing faux nails? How does it feel Besides it's not like my personality is fake or anything, I'm being myself. So why should you care? Wigs and makeup - that's just the image I chose for myself. I do it because it makes me happy. It's not how I express myself, it's just what I happen to like.I also hate it when girls think they're so cool for not liking makeup. Like, you don't need to like makeup. Not everyone does I understand that. BUT DONT MAKE PEOPLE LIKE ME FEEL LIKE SOME STUPID BITCH FOR WEARING IT. Of course I don't need makeup, it just makes me happy. Don't think you're any better than me just because you don't like it. We're all f*cking people.Yeah! I don't like when people judge others by appearance. It all boils down to personality. I think girls with nasty personalities have given the other nice girls who wear a lot of makeup and other things a bad name. And that isn't fair that people like you are stereotyped as "fake"
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted July 18, 2013 I don't see why debates have to be limited to the big stuff like politics or whatever. If anything, debates of any sort, whether over the internet or real life, usually won't do anything to convince the other side. When it comes to matters like that, it's unlikely that any debating in the world will convince you of much. The best you can usually do is to just get the other guy to see where you're coming from and make his views more well-rounded instead of narrow, "I'm right and anyone who disagrees can in no way be rational because my argument is the only rational viewpoint" mentality. Also keep in mind debates don't have to be about convincing the other guy you're right. It could easily just be a matter of getting the other guy to see where you're coming from, especially when it comes to things that matter to you. It doesn't have to be things like politics or religion that you can feel strongly about. Sometimes it's the little, ultimately pointless things but that aren't pointless to you. And in that case, I feel no reason for why they shouldn't make their feelings known when they see something that strongly resonates against them. If you feel passionate enough about something, you try keeping your mouth shut when someone disses it. Exactly. Which is why it's ok to post disagreeing opinions here as long as you don't try to force your opinion on others .You have every right to post your opinion as well on the subject even if you agree or disagree. It's just pointless to fight over it. 2 Demyx. and Ghost reacted to this

Some things I'd rather not debate over because I can't explain it, maybe I just hate something because I do and I WOULDN'T be able to debate over it, because I can't explain it. If someone's open to debate that's fine but some people really just don't want to argue

As someone who shies away from makeup in general, here's my own two cents. I'm not necessarily speaking for all makeup-haters, but I do see where they're coming from. In a sense, makeup to me is sorta... unsettling. I can't always describe it, but I consider it fake because it doesn't seem like you. It's like you're hiding behind something, using artificial things to boost yourself instead of relying on what you actually have. It's like you're not confident enough in your own natural looks, so you have to use something external to make up (heh) for it. Artificial things come off eventually, and people will eventually see the real you. It doesn't seem like it's worth the trouble. You may not use it to express yourself, but for many many other people, physical appearance is a handy tool for expression, and how you look often carries implications about you that might or might not be true. If I see someone on the street dressed like a slob, my first instinct won't be to assume that guy is a well-respected electrical engineer. I get why such a mindset is shallow, because it sorta is when you think about it, but at the same time, do we have any reason to think otherwise? Physical appearance is the first thing we see. Judging others for how they look isn't the problem; the problem is using physical appearance as the only thing to judge them by. But the primary reason I don't wear makeup is that it seems like a pain in the ass to put it on and maintain it. Seriously, I just wanna get dressed and go. Getting ready should not take more than fifteen minutes at maximum. Besides, I don't like things on my face.

Besides, I don't like things on my face.omg another discussion ahhhhhh im gonna go watch yugioh nowYeah but it's still not fair to me that people are rude to me just because I like something. Like sure they don't like how I wear makeup but the fact that some people refuse to look past that? What happened to not judging a book by its cover? Not everyone has to like it but I find it extremely rude when people legitimately talk behind my back like it's some sort of sin. I do what I do for me, not for other people. And if they can't accept that then well, guess it's just one less person I can't befriend due to a stupid reason. That's fine you don't like makeup, I know for a fact that it's not everyone's thing. I actually used to hate it back in elementary school, when everyone was giving eachother makeovers I just despised makeup with a burning passion. Makeup is just the image I choose for myself. That's why Dolly Parton is my hero and I love hanging out with drag queens xDBut for me maybe it's because I had a sort of touching experience with it, this girl who was always poorly dressed and had a soft voice, I thought she was creepy. But after I got to know her (through the same club we were in) I found out she's actually the sweetest, most gentle person in the entire school. Literally like nothing bothers her, she's always willing to help others even on her worst day.Okay I'm done with discussions for today I just wanna babysit and watch yugioh lol 3 HarLea Quinn, Koko and mosokisa reacted to this
HarLea Quinn 26,501 Posted July 18, 2013 As someone who wears make up sometimes i don't see how it's fake . I will go days or even a week or more not wearing any so obviously i'm fine with physical appearance. Xaon thinks I look fine either way and claims he doesn't even notice much difference lol . Make up isn't necessarily something people use to hide anything. Sometimes it's just for fun or to express themselves. Sometimes you feel like dressing up and styling your hair and make up. Judging someone solely on looks is wrong no matter how you cut it bc wolves hide in sheeps clothing all the time . You can have a poorly dressed person who can truly be a great person and you can have a well dressed person who inside could be a monster . 4 Robbie the Wise, Demyx., VisitJoan and 1 other reacted to this
Caity 3,946 Posted July 18, 2013 Living in a sectarian country where there has been violence and bitterness between protestants and catholics I have the (considerably irrational) opinion that those with bitter and cruel intentions who are going to pass them onto their kids so it never ends, should be sent away to one land/country and be allowed to die out there in time (opposed to forcibly stabbing them like). There's just some people who won't accept the past and keep the bitterness and hatred strong through generations, so kids who are 6 and had nothing wrong done to them, end up bottling someone else because of their religion/sexuality/background whatever based on the hatred they had drummed into them as a child. Idk if someone already said this, but when people I know die, I rarely get sad. 2 kids at my school passed away and I had to pretend to be upset just so people didn't think I was insensitive. The only time I remember being sad over someone's death was when my grandpa died, and that was 9 or 10 years ago I'm the same, only I don't pretend to be sad, I monotonically offer my condolences. I can feel sympathy but I don't see how anyone could expect me to be sad that someone I don't know/rarely talk to/hardly see died (the case happened with me where someone in my English class committed suicide). There was a lot of people who barely knew him who started acting really upset when they never did anything to hang out with him. Even I could tell he was depressed, he hung around with my sort of people and we were all firetrucking emos/scene/metalheads with varying degrees of self harm, and they ignored him until he died and then used his death for attention seeking purposes and to make themselves look good (oh look at me, I'm so considerate caring for him, I'll upload a memorial pick every day to facebook for likes). As of yet I've never had a death close to home that's affected me yet, I'm not close with my fathers family (they're in my country) and my mother's family are in England. And that's when it had good stuff. Now all the stories are lame and the people there are annoying. Ugh, no kidding. It'd help if the people writing them knew how to be scary. Or write. In particular, video game creepypastas grate on me. They all sorta blend together after a while, and authors seem to equate creepiness with weird, realistic graphics, or sad characters or black/bloody eye sockets or whatever (find a creepypasta that doesn't include at least one of them. You won't find any). Yeah, in general I'm not impressed by the vast majority of them. 1 Shazzam reacted to this

Cyber Shaman 990 Posted July 19, 2013 I'm not silencing them I'm just saying don't argue. It's as simple as that. Don't like somebody's opinion, then move on and get over it. There's no need to start a disagreement that can easily be avoided. If you know that the other person has a different opinion than you, why would you try to convince them to change that? It's pointless fighting over opinions, unless of course the opinion is of significant value (eg. Pro-life vs. pro-choice). But I haven't seen any of those opinions recently here.<3All i can say 1 Lalalablah reacted to this

Shulk 8,623 Posted July 19, 2013 FFVII isn't the best Final Fantasy ever. Heck, it has a lot of flaws. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, but it's honestly my least favorite of the first ten FF games. The characters are boring, Sephiroth's a mama's boy, the design of the areas makes it tough to tell where you can or can't walk at times, the materia system is a huge step back from the Espers in FFVI... I just don't see how it's worth all the hype of being called the "Best FF ever" or the "Best JRPG ever" 1 Queen Tery reacted to this

I just don't see how it's worth all the hype of being called the "Best FF ever" or the "Best JRPG ever" This Years Hipsters choice final fantasy game goes to: Final Fantasy VI! I think at this point ff6 is the most overrated. It's apparently cool to hate Final Fantasy VII now because people think it's overrated. At this point there are more haters for the game than there are people who like the game. Final Fantasy VII is awesome. People who like it don't like it purely because of nostalgia or because it's 3d. It was the first final fantasy game that created that kind kind of atmosphere and characters. It was one of the first games to make a player cry. It was one of the first games not to have a simple save the world story. Final Fantasy 7 was one of the first games to have a 40-50 hour gameplay time. FF6 had a lot of characters but they weren't developed enough for me to really like them.
