I hope you realize that this is the UNPOPULAR opinions thread

I have every right to voice my own opinions, and I'm not taking anyone else's right to voice their own or force them to change their own.

And frankly, people get offended over every opinion. No one's going to stop voicing them, no one's going to stop getting offended. If one opinion affects them so much, then they really should think about what they are doing.

 

I wasn't even talking about this thread I was referring to the 9/11 thread which I stated in my previous thread. All I'm getting at is that it's up to you to differentiate when and where your opinion is appropiate to post, at your age you should be able to recognize which situations are the best to be more sensitive in your opinons. This is especially so if you expect people to be sensitive in situations that are meaningful to you.

 

Ze didn't take anyone's rights. And people shouldn't be affected by hir post. I mean when I see everyone talking about this day and how sad it is, I don't change my opinion/ to suddenly feel sorry for what happened due to how another person/group of people feels.

Anyway when she posted that comment she took away their right to mourn. I've noticed that when a veteran on this site is popular, people on here will change their believes to parrot the veterans, I've seen this mutiple times (on this very thread included). When she wrote that comment she took away that right because now people question if what they are doing is appropiate. Even if was appropiate people will consider the fact that it's wrong because a veteran who in their mind know better insinuated it was. It may not have been the intent of the comment but the implication is there regardless.

I felt like you didn't even read what I wrote and just jumped in to defend her otherwise you would have realized that was what I've been saying all along.

I didn't do anything off topic or wrong, i didnt offend anyone and if i did im sorry, but i didnt go in and type this long essay about why im indifferent. its silly to get mad at me because of what i posted in another thread. I really actually should delete these posts because it's borderline arguing with you just kind of arguing with me. Don't bring discussions from one thread into another. You really should've told me this privately if it was so important.

Actually, this makes me think of something that happened at the beginning of school. When I told two of my friends I was bisexual, they said, "Okay, we don't care but don't crush on us either." Um, thanks, guys? Now I'll be labeled in their minds when they see me and that really insulted me.

I think that it's somewhat stupid to have genres such as K-pop and J-rock etc.

Those are rock and pop as any other rock and pop. I don't see any reason to put them on their own genre. Biggest reason for making genres like these is probably because of their singing language (but if so: why doesn't genres like Finnish-metal and Swedish-pop exist?).. And naming genres like these sound kinda racist anyways.

Like for example, I do that with my American friends or even friends from other countries. I listen politely and am somewhat intrigued when someone describes to me what's going on in their nation because they feel like talking about it.

How come, when I want to talk about it, nobody offers an ear? It's okay not to care but it would mean a lot if you could listen to me ramble about it or even feign interest for the sake of politeness. Because I don't just want to talk to my Canadian friends about it.

And the fact that people do ignore it makes me question Canada's self-worth, like we don't matter to the world and that people honestly don't care about us.

But hey, it's probably just me. I'm also expecting this post to be ignored, like the rest of them are.

I am misinformed on Canadian issues/politics/etc. since I never really heard one (even though there is some).

I am usually only interested in politics when it revolves around me or when it's about a big issue.

I don't think that people are ignoring you at least not on purpose. Nine times out of ten you bring up the topic when american politics are being discussed hence people overlook it rather then ignore it. I would suggest making a thread or status about it when there are no political discussions going on that way it gets maximum attention.

Why judge by gender if you don't know what she's capable of? I get laughed at all the time by my dad because I ENJOY Playing video games and his opinion, video games are "only for males" I just get so annoyed by that! NOTHING is for males or females, its just an activity I love to spend time on.
