Zola 3,038 Posted October 7, 2013 Why does it seem like almost all lyrical music nowadays has to be about some stage of a relationship? RoxSox 3,593 Posted October 8, 2013 Why does it seem like almost all lyrical music nowadays has to be about some stage of a relationship?I think more people should get creative and write about something different and intelligent for a change. Nah. It's not even close to being "all". A LOT of it yes. But ignoring that music like that only really makes up the Billboard Top 40, let's actually take a moment to accept that music is and always has been about love and relationships. If you go back to music from back then, a lot of it is the same kind of relationship/love/sex jargon. So... not really a "nowadays" thing and it's easy to avoid to boot. I'll accept that challenge. What was even remotely acceptable about it pre cut? The duel part was really kind of rhetorical, my friend. I have absolutely no desire to argue about it, especially since I know that nothing I say will you get you to understand or accept my opinion, so there's no point. Sometimes it's best to stop an argument before it starts.

Xiro 3,468 Posted October 8, 2013 People who say "Everything that happens, happens for the best." are lying. Things may not happen for the best, but they still happen. And it's not like we can do shizz about it. So I guess a more accurate saying would be "Everything that happens, happens." Oh wait. I think the actual saying is "Whatever happens, happens." But you get my point. Not really an unpopular opinion or anything, but I just wanted to go off on a little tangent. 4 mosokisa, Col.Random, Sora and 1 other reacted to this

I don't really think a song made for the purposes of comedy by people who have a talk show is really an example we can use here. 2 EpiXauce and Col.Random reacted to this

Yeah, you're right. :] I did say seem for that reason. I know that there's a lot of good stuff out there that isn't all about relationships (wooo enya). I suppose that by "nowdays" I meant that at least least in the thirties they could be poetic about their musical love poetry. 2 RoxSox and Ghost reacted to this

Varnish 319 Posted October 10, 2013 Princess Elise (from Sonic 06) may not have been a particularly interesting character, but she was not a bad one. I do not think that she deserves all of the criticism that she receives. As for accusations of bestiality, Sonic the Hedgehog was originally supposed to have a human female as a girlfriend, so those accusations cannot be made. Paranoia 494 Posted October 10, 2013 The definition of misogyny has been redefined. The definition of it that I'm familiar with is "To think think less of women, based on the fact of their gender" (Paraphrased). If a guy uses a woman for the sole purpose of sex, and sees no value of the woman's contribution, then he deserves to be called misogynistic. A situation (remember, in my opinion) where the word misogyny shouldn't be involved in is video games. To put things in perspective: A military game should not be called misogynistic because the female soldiers have less protective gear that the males. To be rather honest, I'd love to see a game that a woman is fully protected and can carry the 100+lbs of equipment that a man can. I'm not saying it cant happen, but a regular sized 5'8" tall woman with an average build and little to no physical training would not be able to carry the same equipment that a man can and still be combat effective. Also, if the game was truly misogynistic, then the women wouldn't even be soldiers. 1 RoxSox reacted to this

Also, if the game was truly misogynistic, then the women wouldn't even be soldiers. If a woman is trained for it then I would hope she can, or else all that training would have sorta been for nothing right? It's true men are generally on average physically stronger than woman, mostly in the upper body. But there are a lot of things woman can do then men "can't", those being advantages due to our center of gravity. And if two people have the proper training, regardless of gender I'd assume they would be able to hold their own. I don't see that as misogyny but you're absolutely right - a normal person, even boys whether you agree or not, could not do certain things WITHOUT the proper training. But it's dependent on the training as well as genetics. Some people have genetic advantages over others, male or female that enable you in extra ways than others. For example, flexible and/or double-jointed people. Sure they could train, but they sort of haver head start with why genetics gave them. But if that's what someone wants to do, if they want to put the effort into training, exercising, and being an overall healthy person then there's nothing they can't do (:Just stay away from the use of steroids. The bad steroids. Don't abuse them. Please :cAgain I'm not educated on this and such since it's honestly not something I go looking for, but yes many average people could not do what some amazingly tough people do every day. I don't see that as misogyny, saying that men are naturally stronger than women - just as it isn't misandry to say that women typically have stronger lungs. That's just my opinion tho. And it's sad that a lot of girls aren't aware that our center of gravity (hips), unlike males' center of gravity (somewhere around the shoulders idk, def. upper body region) can't do, and vise versa. Each have their pros and cons, and it's up to the individual to decide what they wanna do 1 Paranoia reacted to this

Anonn0000 3,525 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) Some of my excuses to wear dresses all the time are pretty weird. One is "So i'll look like a flower!<3" which is semi-weirdish-ish as i'm not sure anyone but me has said it. But I think dresses look....extremely flower-like. O_o; No srsly I do. Like look at this; http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/215/8/f/refrence_5_by_darklord20-d6gis14.jpg TRY TELLING ME SHE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A FLOWER. *twitch twich* It also feels like wearing an over sized blanket sometimes. For me, this is, apperently, very compherting, since I kinda always wanna be in a partial rem state, it seems... Also, sometimes, I find pants so uncomphy, it feels like i'm on the edge of a fever while wearing them.....But I don't seem to mind shorts so much though. Annnnd my skin seems to tollerate tights better than pants too o_O;; Yeah tis ends my post now......my quirkiness has no end, does it? ; Edited October 11, 2013 by ~DawnStar2004~
