gothamninja394 92 Posted September 8, 2013 Reminds me of a quote from Over the Hedge when one of the characters points to a car and says, "Humans ride around in these because they are slowly losing their ability to walk". Its true. Technology......although it has truly helped us a lot, has also robbed us of the value of hard work.
Ghost 1,857 Posted September 8, 2013 I posted this on tumblr because that's where the majority of hate is coming from in the first place, but decided to post it here too. If you hate somebody just because they were born a certain way, you’re a firetrucking asshole. If you hate someone because they’re a firetrucking asshole, then there’s totally nothing wrong with that. Look, can people please just stop hating on others for what they take pride in? This includes weight, religion, ethnicity, race, social status, sexuality, etc. If you’re going to hate somebody then hate them because they’re an individual and not a whole group because you know the firetruck what, out of a group of people there are always the INNOCENT, DECENT ones. Insulting somebody because they're overweight MAKES YOU A DICK. Insulting somebody because they're really skinny ALSO MAKES YOU A DICK. Insulting somebody because of their race, no matter if they're white, black, blue, yellow, green, I don't care, MAKES YOU A DICK. Insulting somebody because of their sexuality whether they're gay, straight - ANYTHING - ALSO MAKES YOU A DICK. Look, I don't care WHAT you're insulting somebody for, I don't care if its a firetrucking majority or a firetrucking minority you do NOT INSULT PEOPLE BECAUSE THAT MAKES YOU A firetruckING PRICK ASSHOLE FSGGOT MOTHERfiretruckER SON OF A BITCH PATHETIC LOSER. ughh sorry I'm just SO MAD RIGHT NOW because thre is SO MUCH HATE AROUND LIKE STOP. Tigerruss 576 Posted September 8, 2013 Its true. Technology......although it has truly helped us a lot, has also robbed us of the value of hard work. While ultimately I do agree it is due to technological advances that we don't value hard work as much, it isn't the technology itself. A lot of it comes from us now having more free time giving us the ability to think and over think things. Which has led to a change in the philosophies of the people. And because of that, parents might not tell a kid that they HAVE to work through some pain. Or that they can't just abandon a task mid way. For they believe it is better to be "kind" all the time, than to force kids to work hard. But that only is part of the problem, and I do believe there are lots of parents do know a good mixture of toughness and coddling. A different problem is that hard work isn't always rewarded. For me, a lot of the time I simply can get by doing as well or better than other people by putting the minimum effort I can live with putting in. So, it becomes what's the point? It isn't hard work that is rewarded, it is results. And technology didn't make that so. Now you maybe wondering, do I value hard work? Yes I do, and I think what I can get away with is unfair to the others that worked harder and performed worse. I am just trying to say that in my opinion it has more to do with philosophies than with technologies for how we value hard work. And at least for me walking I will never consider walking obsoleted by cars. Now if there were functional teleporters stationed at every building, yeah, walking in the outdoors would be obsolete for all those who don't need to explore/work outdoors. Now if there were functional teleporters stationed at every building, yeah, walking in the outdoors would be obsolete for all those who don't need to explore/work outdoors. I wasnt saying that its completely because of technological advancement. But look at how things are. Hardly anyone ever writes things down anymore, and I mean the old fashioned way, with paper and pencil/pen. Though everyone will make up the excuse of the lack of trees, but when did we start worrying about that? And why? Not that typing is bad, but people hardly even know how to spell these days, its pathetic. They'll use spell check, which isnt completely reliable. People are becoming lazier and lazier by the day, and that causes creativity to decline. Creative ideas leads to new products that consumers want and or need, which brings in money. Take out creativity, and you shut down product ideas, meaning no money and disastrous results. But this isnt the fault of technology. It is we the people who are at fault. Even if we're not cheating the system, if we dont do anything to help then we're just as bad if not worse as those who are. And I know, you'll probably ask why I'm not doing anything about it. Here's the thing: One person cannot tackle this gigantic problem alone and expect results. It requires the collective efforts of others along with the one to accomplish such a task. The hatred turns people into monsters, who in turn terrify other people, specifically the thinkers needed for creative thinking. They're scared because those who arent as smart as them feel to make themselves feel better, they need to tear apart any chance of anyone else being happy. And when the good people stand by and let it happen, it sets the country up for self-destruction. Edited September 8, 2013 by gothamninja394

The small amount of sex that occurs (one thirty second at maximum scene per game) comes after having a relationship with the person. And that's beautiful. So not only is the sex a small part of the game, but it's also a really well done way of doing it. And people just objectify that one part of the series and it pisses me off beyond comprehension. 1 Ghost reacted to this

Varnish 319 Posted September 8, 2013 (Unrelated opinion) I would like Anime and Manga if I was not terrified of it. I feel intimidated by it whenever I see it, and if I am not intimidated by it, then I simply find it uncomfortable to look at in some way. I am sure that there is some sort of genre in the medium that suits me, but I am too scared to do any research to find out what that genre might be. For much of last year, an Anime film that I found out about that is named 'Colorful' almost drove me mad. I wanted to see it, but I was extremely unsure about what the consequences could have been. To a lesser extent, I still feel that way to this day. I generally treat Anime and Manga in the same way that I treat fire; it may look interesting, but if I touch it, I will probably get hurt. I personally prefer typing to writing with pen/paper most of the time because my typing speed is a whole lot faster than my writing speed. To me it is a question of efficiency. So, I actually try my best to remember the proper way of spelling words to stop its nagging me... That being said, it is amazing how bad some people spell ON THE INTERNET. Don't most browsers have built in spell checks at this point? And yet some people somehow still have tons of spelling errors that it should have caught. Lalalablah 1,538 Posted September 9, 2013 I think people who criticize things on a higher level without experiencing said thing first are arrogant. I can't stand when someone starts listing off reasons why they hate something and then they throw in there "oh but I've never seen it". Like excuse me you have the nerve to talk about something you basically have no personal knowledge of trying to convince me your opinion is superior? It's even worse when they talk about something I like. Go learn more about the subject before you talk to me about it and then I will gladly listen to what you have to say. But at the moment you're doing is probably paraphrasing what you read on a review site.

And I'm sure you've at least seen a few clips of mlp before like in a Ytp or something so if you dislike it based off that that's perfectly fine (I dislike it too)But I was referring more along the lines of someone who is very elaborate with their criticism thinking they know everything about it without actually knowing anything since they have no desire to learn about it because they won't watch the show/movie, read the book, etc. Edited September 9, 2013 by Lalalablah
