wonderkid 2 Posted September 19, 2011 Who do you think will win(or become masters)? Honestly, I think they both will. But when I read the translation of the trailer... or rather this part: Yen Sid: "From this point onward, Sora and Riku will go and take the Mark of Mastery exam." Sora, surprised: "Even without taking it, no one can beat me!" Riku, facing downward: "Having walked the path of darkness, I wonder if it’d really be right for me to wield the Keyblade. You’d have to make sure. First I was like, whoa Sora, getting a little arrogant there. And like a wise man once said: "Arrogance will get you killed!" So yeah, how many times did we see the prideful ones fall? Example: um...let me see...RIKU??!?!? Plus, what Riku says too kinda gets to me. He's really taking being wielder of a keyblade seriously. Now I'm starting to think that maybe, MAYBE! Riku will become a master BEFORE Sora. That, or he actually isn't worthy of being a KeyBearer. So yeah, what do you guys and gals think of it? 2 Sephiroth991995 and Zenithia reacted to this
TerraRedeemed 255 Posted September 19, 2011 its always been my thought that Riku will emerge first if not only just because of the way square and Nomura's minds work.

TokyoMystify 4 Posted September 19, 2011 Sora is entitled to the idea that no one can beat him. He has faced challenges over and over again, only to pass them all like nothing. To even sacrifice himself for kairi, get turned into a heartless and come back, like nothing. If they bring to the formula some crappy ideal that arrogance is not the way.......kh will disappoint me for the first time. Riku is not being humble, he knows what he has done and his mistakes. Which is why he questions the idea of him being a keyblade master. 1 Oishii reacted to this
Cricket 1,180 Posted September 19, 2011 I believe Riku will come out on top before Sora in this one, but who knows. Riku just needs more confidence in himself and his abilities and maybe just maybe he will unlock a new power by walking in the realm of light and darkness and a secret to defeating xehanort once and for all. SkyEmerald 73 Posted September 19, 2011 I'm hoping Riku does as that would mean someone defeated the cocky Sora
Obi-wan 411 Posted September 19, 2011 I would say both would get it together because really there not going to leave Sora or Riku behind being the main characters in the game

It's just how Sora and Riku reacted that kinda makes me think..
hatok 6,413 Posted September 19, 2011 I'd be cocky too, if about a week ago I spent my time slicing through buildings, deflecting thousands of lasers, and defeating an army of Nobodies, including about six super powerful ones. Alongside stopping a persons plans to get me to kill heartless, by continuing to kill heartless, and just winning anyways. And destroying massive heartless and Disney villains. And this is after I just beat a world destroying demon in his own domain, after essentially returning from the dead. And just before that, claiming the keyblade from its rightful owner based solely on being better suited to wield it. Face it, Sora has a lot of reasons to be cocky. Oh, and he singlehandedly defeated a thousand heartless, only after fighting a bunch of other heartless, AND Demyx. 4 Oishii, MarluXia777, Zenithia and 1 other reacted to this

Keyblade Master Xine 196 Posted September 19, 2011 Even if Sora has a reason to be cocky, to become a master, he has to put that aside. If Riku passes, then he should know he deserves to be master. That being said, I think it would suck if they both don't pass.

But technically, It was Riku who defeated Ansem, but yeah Sora did kinda beat him too. Yep and don't forget where he has to beat Xemnas how many times before he dies I still don't really get that. Was that really Xemnas he was fighting or just a clone? Plus when he did start fighting Xemnas, he had Riku helping him. AND During the final battle it took the both of em to beat him. Oathkeeper#13 25 Posted September 19, 2011 who cares if your cocky that doesnt matter i like the cocky sora you dont have to change that to be a master and they tease you guys with the trailer they will probably both pass
Azure Flame 670 Posted September 19, 2011 They both will pass. In the trailer Yen Sid said they would be named Master if they came back. They wouldn't just leave one of them behind, we know they're both going to return from the Dream World, so they'll both be Masters.
CjmonXIII 110 Posted September 19, 2011 Sora shouldnt be so cocky, he almost had his heart sucked out and riku had to save him. Then Riku had to save him again from Xemnas' Ethereal blades, so yea he shouldnt be talking. (But i still think hes awesome though)

AnHeiressofaSOLDIER 358 Posted September 19, 2011 Meh. Sora's always been like that though. And overly competitive. I just think it's how he deals, you know? Kind of like how Snow in FFXIII made a joke of everything because he was so full of turmoil; it was the only way he could get through it all. However, there are definitely some reasons Sora might not pass. I really hope he does though. It'd make taking the MoM seem mighty pointless. Anyway, he might not pass because he needs to put the worlds' needs above his own. He needs to focus on the Heartless and not tournaments, for example. Also, I feel Nomura might decide for fans to truly relate to Sora, he should stay a simple wielder. Nomura always says he wants people to look at Sora, and think they too can do great things if they try. That might be difficult if Sora's a Master. Besides, then he'd have no excuse to revert Sora to lvl 1. LOL. And maybe he'd like to show Master's not all it's cracked up to be. And so far, it seems the people expecting to pass don't make it (like Terra). And those that don't do (like Mickey and Aqua). It could be the shocking ending. Like many have said, maybe someone will interfere. Maybe they'll temper the Darkness in Sora's heart. Maybe Roxas, Xion, Ven, and Vanitas might effect him. Anyway, there are reasons Sora might fail, but I personally want both Sora and Riku to pass.
DTD 33 Posted September 20, 2011 Riku has darkness in his heart so he aint passing just like terra but he will get out of the dream world. Sora will pass
Azure Flame 670 Posted September 20, 2011 Riku has darkness in his heart so he aint passing just like terra but he will get out of the dream world. Sora will pass Just because Riku uses Darkness doesn't mean he'll automatically lose. Yen Sid isn't racist against the Darkness like Eraqus was. Besides, all they really need to do to pass is make it out of the Dream World. And as Rob said, it's not a competition, it's a test. 2 Robbie the Wise and Kishira reacted to this
