What would you rather we do for subtitles?

  1. 1. What would you rather we do for English subtitles of Japanese cutscenes?

    • Use the YouTube annotation feature, so we can turn the subtitles on or off when we're watching videos. However, when you download videos, they will have no subtitles.

    • Make a second copy of the video that has the subtitles edited in, so, they are always present and can't be turned off.

The annotations would be better for everyone, but then you have to worry about Youtube pulling the video down for copyright blah blah blah. The second may save you time in the end.

If we wanted to watch the scene in English, we'd watch it in English, except in those rare few cases the scene doesn't have an English counterpart - in those cases, a second download with subtitles, preferably a fansub translation of good quality, should be in place on the website.

There is still a pressing need for subtitle-less video for those of us who make music vids and the like, first and foremost.
