Kingdom Hearts: The Movie

Any self respecting Kingdom Hearts fan, knows the longing for more. Tetsuya and the gang at Square Enix never fail to deliver that feeling of "this was even better than the last one" but unfortunately, some people feel as though the wait between games is unbearable. What can we do to satisfy our craving for more? Well, most re-play the games of the series (more than once) others makes parodies or AMVs on youtube, some write fan-fiction. Well, I write screen-plays. That's right, a screen-play. And for those of you who don't know what this is, let me give you and explaination...

 

As screen play is like a script, only with more detail. Usually, the screen-play is what gets turned into a movie after editing is finished. Allow me to give and example of the difference between a script, and a screen-play. (some lines may not be accurate, due to the fact that I'm trying to do this from memory)

 

 

 

Script:

 

Riku: The door...has opened.

 

Sora: What are you talking about?

 

Riku: The door has opened, Sora! We can finally get off this island. This may be our only chance, we may never see our parents again.

 

Sora: Where's Kairi, I though she was with you!?

 

Riku: Kairi is coming with us! This is it Sora, we can't let fear stop us...I'M NOT AFRAID OF THE DARK!

That is the idea of a script. Now, here is a screen-play:

 

Screen-play:

 

(Sora runs down the pier to see Riku facing the ocean)

 

Riku: The door...has opened. (Riku spreads arms to either side)

 

Sora: What are you talking about? (Sora leans forward)

 

Riku (turning to Sora): The door has opened, Sora! We can finally get off this island. This may be our only chance, we may never see our parents again.

 

Sora: Where's Kairi, I though she was with you!? (swings left arm to left side)

 

Riku (lunging at Sora): Kairi is coming with us! This is it Sora, we can't let fear stop us...I'M NOT AFRAID OF THE DARK!

 

(Riku is being engulfed in what appears to be black fire. He reaches out to Sora who desperately tries to grab a hold of Riku's hand. Riku disappears into the fire, leaving Sora on the pier alone. A strange light appears in Sora's hand and he receives the "Keyblade")

 

 

So, that is what a screen-play is...it is a script, but also gives details on a characters actions.

 

Well, the whole point of this thread is a few reasons. First, I want to have a very in-depth conversation about whether or not a Kingdom Hearts movie is a good idea or not. I think if Square could milk FFVII so much to make two different versions of Advent Children, they could make a KH movie... If they could get the permission from Disney...b/c Disney practically own KH accept for the FF people.

I remember a thread sort of like this a while ago an we talked about a KH manga/manga movie type deal. Of course i would like to see that or a CGI movie, but not live action... that would look weird and really wouldn't be possible.

 

If u write a screen play, i say u should try and send it, but don't get ur hope up too high b/c we all know Nomura is a busy, busy man. But I'll bet u anything that he reads ppls Fan-Fics for KH ideas, lol

You would figure that he would have SOMEONE who might read stuff that gets sent to him. Or perhaps he quit after everyone went ballistic about the whole (Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ not coming to America, ZOMG!!!!) epidemic.

Well I think a 3D movie would be better. Like in FF: Advent Children. That would be pretty cool though although it would be expensive.

As far as expenses go, I think they should use the money they make AFTER Birth By Sleep and Coded come out, and any left over money from previous games to make the movie. Then, the movie sales would pay for KH3.

OMG i am so KH obsessed to the point that i can remember every detailed word of the scripts of KH & KH2 (and alittle of CoM but not too much of Re: CoM)

[justify]Well I heard from a lot of people there will come a kingdom hearts movie and then i decided to watch. after watching i can say that Kingdom Hearts is one of my favourite movie and i had watched twice in theatre. There are so many different disney stories in it that would make the movie hours long. [/justify]

I've seen a few fan-vids on youtube on a KH movie, usually for april fools or because they were just BORED. It would be epic for a KH movie, I say have ever KH game in it, have it be 3D so we are familiar with the characters and visual. But don't ya think this idea already passed through their eyes or brains before?

You couldn't posibly fit all those levels into one movie.. you would have to cut a lot down, and super-fans hate when things get left out.

I think it's a great idea Zexion and a good start on top of that. But I doubt Nomura will take the time out of his work to look through suggestions for a movie. But don't get me wrong, it's a nice idea!

I think the Idea you're doing is nice, but I just dont see a movie happening.
