Protoman 1,974 Posted July 31, 2011 Kierstyn. Meaning: Its source is Christiana, a Latin name meaning "Christ's follower." Origin: "Christiana." Narrative: The influence of religion on names is evident throughout the world. For example, it is a tenet of Islam that the best names either refer to attributes of Allah or are derived from hamida, an Arabic word meaning ''praise.'' Names used on the Indian subcontinent often refer to the deities of Hinduism. Though Christiana's direct refererence to Christianity is exceptional, names with ties to the West's predominant religion are far from unusual. Many Hebrew-derived names reflect Christianity's Jewish heritage. Greek- and Latin-derived names witness the church's early development in the Mediterranean basin. Finally, many Germanic and Gaelic names honor saints who spread Christianity throughout northern Europe. Kishira 2,854 Posted July 31, 2011 My name is Brenda and.....*looks up meaning* O-O;;;; It's got multiple definitions. > >;;; Scandinavian Name Meaning - sword Scottish Name Meaning - From the Norse, meaning sword or torch. Gaelic Name Meaning - Little raven. Irish Name Meaning - Feminine form of Brendan: Prince, little raven, or beacon on the hill. But the Scandinavian one was the 1st on the list, and the other ones kept referring back to that one.....so I guess my name means sword....don't see the connection though. xDD
keymace101 1 Posted July 31, 2011 my name's josel. I don't really know the meaning of my name. I even searched it from other sites but I can't find any. I only know it's a german's name for baby boys which is kinda depressing because I'm a girl and not even a german. Well, anyway, I'm going to based the meaning of my name to "Josel of Rosheim" who was a great advocate of something (I dunno. Just search it up on the 'net). I'm going to assume that my name means "great advocate".

I once heard these parents got sued for naming their kids Google, Yahoo, etc. Kinda weird. And the name Lucifer was banned in New Zealand or someplace because of three sets of parents who wanted to name their baby boys that. Thank goodness. You're just begging for trouble doing that. And it depends how you'd interpret the name. Jacob means "the deceiver," and I wouldn't take that so great. I didn't like him much in the Bible to be honest either, but hey, who am I to say "You don't deserve God's love" when I don't either?
