heartless101 83 Posted July 29, 2011 Thankfully this happened and I didn't get the 3DS yet. I was hoping this would happened in the near time future. I knew that my instincts were right when I spent my money on Infamous rather than a 3DS!
Deadshot 666 Posted July 29, 2011 wow. now i don't need to save up as much money to get the 3DS and the PSP! (I'm not getting a PS Vita cause they're not backwards compatible.) it is for games that are on playstation store but i'm guesing your going to buy it for mostly kh:bbs. Exlon 165 Posted July 29, 2011 i knew this was going to happen too i just hope it stays 170 dollars and if it doesnt they dont raise the price to much like make cost 190 dollars or something sony might end up doing the same because over 200 is too much for a handheld even if ps vita has better features than nintendo 3ds 250 300 dollars is too much they might wanna pay attention here Don't worry, this doesn't sound like I sale. I'm pretty sure this is a solid price drop, and it'll stay $170. Lower in the faaar future. But that's the far future.
xBerserkerSaix07x 125 Posted July 29, 2011 Such a waste. So NOW'S a good opportunity to get a 3ds!?Seems kind of lyke a waste of time.only when faced with no profits they decide to make changes.20 old Nintendo games seems like they're hardly worth it.Then if you wanted to trade in your dsi for a 3ds,it would only cut the price by $30!Rip-off. DragonMaster 1,166 Posted July 29, 2011 @Berserker How much are they supposed to give you for a DSi then? They are not going to give you all $170 or however much you paid for your DSi towards a 3DS. I do believe that when the 3DS first came out, you could get around $70 off the 3DS. But now that the price has been dropped by $80, there is no way they are going to give you that much off for trade-ins. Nintendo will be selling the 3DS for a loss now*, and I doubt they would want trade-ins to take much more money off of the price. And just because the games they are giving out to buyers of the 3DS before the price drop are old, doesn't mean they aren't good. In fact, I have heard good things about most of the games that they are giving out. And yes, most of the time a company will change when they are not making a profit, and will keep the same when making one, that is how things work. *Source @Riku This is a permanent price drop, so no need to worry about the price going back up. 1 xBerserkerSaix07x reacted to this
Oishii 3,987 Posted July 29, 2011 Trade-ins aren't worth it unless you really don't like the console your trading in or you desperately need the little extra cash. I kept my DSLite when the DSi came out and I'm still hanging on to it.
Exlon 165 Posted July 29, 2011 I'm actually still not happy with those 20 free games, even though my other friends are. I'm really kind of disappointed I didn't wait, but oh well...

Not old games!Personally I'd take 20 old games worth 125 dollars over four new games worth the same price. Especially considering these old games include Metroid Fusion and Yoshi's Island. Also, just a tip, ALL trade ins are a ripoff. The companies give yu a tin bit of money, then sell it for way more, netting them a huge profits. But that's not the worst part, this also cuts the makers of the console/game out of said profits entirely. So if you've ever bought a used KH game, Square Enix never got a cent. earth_angel 73 Posted July 29, 2011 ^ Of course they did, the used game was once a new game They won't profit from a resale, which seems more than reasonable to me.
hatok 6,413 Posted July 30, 2011 ^ Of course they did, the used game was once a new game They won't profit from a resale, which seems more than reasonable to me. Instead of somebody buying a new game, earning the company more money, they now buy a slightly cheaper used game, with all the profits going to the seller. basically, when a new game comes out, and people trade it in, they can sell the new game for five dollars less, so a person who would have normally bought the game at full price, with a percent of the profits going to the people who MADE the game, are now buying a slightly cheaper version that cheats the company out of money.A lot of people don't realize this, or rationalize it. But it is having an effect on companies. Haven't you noticed all the games with first day DLC? Companies are trying to combat the loss, but it's really inconveniencing the players (Who now miss out on content if they don't buy the game first day) Or, think about it this day. I buy a new copy of Birth By Sleep for 39.99, I trade it in for 8 bucks. Someone buys it used for 34.99, and eventually trades it in, giving them maybe 5 bucks. Now another person buys it for 29.99. Suppose this cycle keeps going? The company has already made about 65 bucks on this one game, while Square Enix has only made about 20.
Exlon 165 Posted July 30, 2011 I like buying my games as new copies anyway. I had a super beat-up used copy of KH when I first got it. I eventually traded that in for like, nothing, and then bought a new copy off Amazon instead.

OblivionRider 50 Posted July 31, 2011 Okay, now I want it. My birthday's in October, so now it's not too expensive to ask for. I'm turning 18, but I'm the type of person who feels guilty about getting a present too expensive from your parents. 1 Exlon reacted to this

If I want something expensive (like a game system) I can't ask my parents for it. I tell them I'm saving for a game system, so then I get $25 from each parent per event (event meaning Christmas or birthday). My birthday's a couple of months after Christmas, so by then I at least have $100. If my mom's feeling nice she'll give me a little extra in secret. I had saved up for a PSP, but my parents intervened and bought the BBS bundle for me under the reasoning that I was high in my class rank and had saved my brother’s life (stopped him from getting hit by a car). I was grateful, but felt so guilty!

Ah, as far as I'm concerned Square Enix doesn't deserve money for the Final Mixes. They clearly don't want your money if they aren't going to bring it out of Japan, so you might as well give it to someone who cares

And even so, that's a no.
earth_angel 73 Posted August 11, 2011 Haha guess what I did. I went and bought a 3DS for €222, so I can get the 20 free games, and then tomorrow I can go back to the store and get back the price difference after the price drop. Muahahahaha
