Can't wait. what did the mini Sokka say at the end??

That isn't a mini Sokka, thats Bolin. He's the half Brother of Mako (a firebender) and is an earth bender. Both of them are part of Korra's main "Team Avatar."

But at the end he says either "The Avatar!" or "It's the Avatar!" Its kind of hard to hear.

Here's a picture of Bolin:

& here's Mako:

Yes, they ARE half brothers. xD

Fun facts you may or may not already know:

- After the war Aang apparently found a slightly different breed of Flying Bison than Appa.

- The Police are metalbenders. After the war Toph went out and taught the way of metal bending, thus that's the reason why her daughter is the chief of the police in the Republic City.

- Korra's overall character is based off of a Snowboarder.

- The animal to "take the place of Momo" is commonly called a "Fire Ferret." HIS NAME IS PABU. 8D

Oh wow. This is interesting. No really, I'm quite surprised. xD So I'm just wondering if the Air Nomads might be revived now since Aang and Katara must have gotten married. xD

70 years is a very short time to reproduce an entire species.

But it seems like the world in Avatar advances pretty quickly...

Not really, consider if you will, how quickly OUR civilization has advanced in the last 70 years.

Well I just meant that there's at least a FEW Airbenders around instead of just one.

So do we know if Korra's related to Katara? I can't watch the trailer. Bandwidth limit right now. -.-

One of Aang and Katara's children ( I don't remember if it was an exact number they said in the panel video I watched they just said KIDS instead of kid or child) Tenzin is an airbender. As well as his three children: Two daughters and one Son all can airbend as well as Korra once she starts to learn how to. Imagine if all three of them were benders, then there is the possibility over time that the airbender population can reform after a number of years. I think the youngest (the son) is named Meelo, the eldest girl is Jinora (she has the single bun), and the middle child is named Ikki (she has two buns). Here are the little kids' pics:

So yeah, it's still only 4... but it's a start. xD

@ the person talking about how it advanced so fast:

The fire nation put all their money into war. That way, their society wasn't able to advance in the original avatar. However, there were already tanks and giant war... blimp things as well as ships. It wouldn't be that hard with the ability to bend elements plus a time of peace after the war for the civilization to go through a massive economic boom. The Republic city is the only real city from the information given that's that advance to somewhat resemble the 1920s in New York city. There are still the water tribes that still live in the huts as seen in the trailer. But it seriously isn't that hard for a society to advance when they can put their funding and talent to something more important than war. It's an industrial revolution.

Thread revival for more finds. o3o

Also, there's no point in making 535245 threads for this. 8D

I found these gifs of some of the leaked animation WIPS of Korra sparring (or fighting) with the other two in the new Team Avatar: Bolin and Mako.

The first one is Bolin:

The second is Mako:

Korra is either an extremely badass girl, or these two are just going to be terrible fighters at the beginning of the show. Hopefully their skill will progress as the story moves forward.

True, very true...

Technological advancements such as these are possible in 70 years. Repopulation is another entirely different thing.

This is just one, maybe two generations after avatar. Unless Aang really wasn't the last airbender this would be near impossible in a 70 year timespan. For airbenders to even reach the number they once were, it would take hundreds of years.

The Legend of Korra seems like a very promising new show coming to Nick. I'm gonna admit that I'm a big fan of Avatar, the only time I'm not a fan is when a whole bunch of Avatar fanboys diss Dragon Ball Z and say "Ohh Aang can beat Goku". This one kid went as far as to make a fan fic dissing Goku, and since I was on a NickToons forum just for the hell of it, no reason at all, I couldn't say anything mean to him. Damn those kids.

Anyway, when I fisrt found out about the Legend of Korra my reaction wasn't really that big, I was just like "big deal". Than I found out there was only going to be 13 episodes. That's when I just said WTF. But Nick ordered more episodes becasue of all the hype for the show and they might order even more episodes depending on how popular the series is.

Possible Spoiler (I don't know how to do the spoiler button thing): It has come to my understanding that the show will be about Korra the next Avatar (presumably Aang and Katara's daughter...). The bad guys in the show are the No Benders. People who don't like benders and think there outcasts and a threat to society.

Well I'm really hyped about this new show, I can't wait.

Today a leaked video of the Legend of Korra was posted onto youtube and instantly gained a ton of views within an hour. The video contained the opening of the first episode and had the narrative in the POV of Tenzin, Aang's son. It was sort of told like how Katara told the opening of Aangs story. This time Tenzin talked about the legend of his father and how he, his friends, and "Firelord Zuko" saved the world from Zuko's father and formed the Fire Nation colonies into the United Republic of Nations and named the capitol "Republic City." The opening starts off with hims saying "Earth, Fire, Air, Water" instead of "Water, Earth, Fire, Air." There are new people, including Korra when he says the four elements and they are more than likely Avatar Kyoshi, Avatar Roku, and either (Older) Avatar Aang or possibly Tenzin. At the very end a white flash appears and the episode title sequence appears like the original series and it says "Book One: Air --- Chapter One: Welcome To The Republic City" and then briefly shows men in cloaks walking through a snowstorm at night towards what looks like a small village which is more than likely the Souther Water Tribe. When Tenzin goes on to talk about the Republic City and then talks about how his "father's time has passed" you can the city somewhat resembles New York City and as it zooms on by to the Statue of Avatar Aang it somewhat is reference of the US' own Statue of Liberty.

Originally, I had posted it here during the hype of the news and was excited and thrilled. I couldn't wait to see more however by the request of Mike DiMartino on tumblr, all the links are being removed in respect of his wishes. While I do respect the staff of the Avatar Show since it's one of my favorite shows I can't help but feel like what's the point? It's already out... I mean yeah it's pirated material and I do respect the fact that they DO share a lot at conventions but not everyone can go to one or see it online before it gets removed... :U Most of tumblr has deleted the link, and the link on youtube was deleted. I'm not sure if it is on anywhere else... but contact me if you can't find it and want to see it **edit** I found another link on youtube:

http-~~-//youtu.be/14-h-sMQ1fw

So it would look like that, only mirrored.

Also again remember (in response to previous posts): Korra isn't Aang and Kataara's daughter. The timelapse makes that almost impossible (around 70 years) for her to be. It would be more likely that she would have been their granddaughter but that isn't so. Tenzin is the only known canon child from the original Team Avatar and on top of that being the youngest of Aang and Katara's children. It is even confirmed that all members of Team Avatar have passed. Aang and Katara's grandchildren (Tenzin's children) are named Jinora (eldest daughter), Ikki (middle daughter), and Meelo (youngest son). The only one that I'm pretty sure has been stated that they may or may not be alive is Azula. There is SOME speculation among fans that since Korra is from the Southern Water Tribe she might be Sokka and Suki's granddaughter but that hasn't been mentioned by the actual LOK staff.

It kind of irks me though that they have a descent amount of season one pretty much finished and they didn't start it in November like they were originally going to. Seriously Nick....

I have never wanted a show from Nick to air more than this one. Release it already and stop pushing back the date... whatever "problems" they're having need to get solved. >:U

Yeah yeah... I understand they could be touching it all up and making it even more amazing but I'm slowly growing impatient for this series. xD

Just watched the opening, it looks awesome. Can't wait for the show to air!

Although I am a little sad that all the old characters are dead, I'd love to see Zuko, Katara and Sokka again. And Aang too cuz he's the main character...

Hope M. night Shyamalan doesn't screw this one up. I'm in therapy from the first movie

He only wrote the scripts for the next two movies of the original Avatar. But his first movie ended up doing so poorly I am almost positive he won't touch LOK. C: --- He hasn't even planned anything further for the other two than the scripts.

It's very possible that the season final isn't the final episode made in the season. Often times series are designed with a beginning and end in mind, with a significant moment in the middle, and things are expanded from there

Leaked korra clip!

*edit*

the leak was removed which is understandable, it was only a matter of time but here's the jist of what happened in the clip:

Korra stumbled across three men (who were seen briefly in the official trailer) and basically shit went down. Nothing too big and there was little dialogue but Korra was basically just a bamf in the entire clip. She was shown waterbending, then earthbending, and then firebending. The animation was really nice and when Korra said, "Why don't you come find out" it was just so badass. :D -- Although it's sad the video was already removed here are some gifs :

* EDIT 2 : here's a tumblr post with the clip again!!!

http://supersodapop.tumblr.com/post/15865300532/fireladyswag-firelordkorraspasm

new promo on Nick that reveals the full title is Avatar: Legend of Korra:

http://avatarnews.tu...ut-just-for-the

Also updates:

Not too long ago, nick revealed on their twitter that Korra WILL be released in 2012. There is a country overseas that will be airing it in the fall, so expect the show to possibly be aired late spring/early summer? They refuse to give an exact date other than "it will be sometime in 2012."

Including the clip mentioned above numerous photos were also leaked which can be seen on tumblr. :U There's too many to link bleh

It was funny to see Korra wearing Aang's clothes in the new trailer!

I sure hope this comes to YTV in Canada. I will be very upset if I can't watch it. The show looks great, but I'll miss some of the old characters like Zuko, Sokka, Katara (although I think she's in it a little as an old woman) and Aang. I wonder if it will be as good as the original series.

Artificial insemination? Wouldn't that be an appropriate topic for a Nick show xD

@topic: I like the new trailer, though the announcer sounds annoying. I want a Polar Bear Dog.

Yeah the show does look promising to me, and the animation does seem like an improvment from the first show, but obviously it won't be the same as the original. c: I'm glad they're finally starting to air it though, they've been keeping fans in the dark for months and FINALLY once they realized how fans reacted to this leaker's footage they were like, "OH MAYBE WE SHOULD ADVERTISE FOR KORRA NOW." So yeah if you really want to keep up with the news follow Korra Nation.

Still no release date though. There is speculation it's after the KCA's or in April, mostly because the Korra forums on nick.com mentioned "coming this spring" on it, but it was quickly removed. Bryan, the co-creator on tumblr throws in a few frames here and there with photos from work so you should watch his tumblr too!! http://bryankonietzko.tumblr.com/
