Zenithia 305 Posted July 20, 2011 tutti frutti. Another forum reminded me of a question that I had asked myself when I first got into the KH series. What was your original thought about the KH series? For me, when I first saw the advertisement and publicity for KH1, my first reaction was that it was never going to work with Disney and Final Fantasy coming together for a game. But after I played KH1, I, much like everyone else here, fell in love with the series. Despite how youg got into the series, what your first game of the series what, or even when, what was your first reaction to the series? Good, bad, random responses are welcome. Kishira 2,854 Posted July 20, 2011 My first reaction was along the lines of, "I love this song, it's so cool! *o*" besides that, I found it pretty neat-o when I saw all the Disney characters *didn't know what FF was back then*.
rikuluver15 35 Posted July 20, 2011 Well I think I remember seeing some commercials a year or so ago, more or less, and didn't really think that it was anything cool. Then I was in the library at my school and I checked out a KH manga and I enjoyed it. I checked the other ones that they had out and checked them out over and over and over again. I also got my friend to read them and she got hooked too. And so now it's one of the coolest video games ever for me and my friend lol
TerraRedeemed 255 Posted July 20, 2011 when i was younger my initial reaction to the advertisement was "i have to get that game" playing it for the first time was awesome, it was the only thing i played nonstop and practically still is. KH till the end!
Rob 5,571 Posted July 20, 2011 lol When I first saw the KH1 commercial(Riku and Sora fighting in Hollow Bastion) I got it confused with Ape Escape(characters looked similar to Sora and Riku), but that's another story as I explained it in other threads. When my cousin came over to my house he had KH. When I was watching him play, I was actually scared because of the heartless(don't know why). Anyway, years later I got KH1, played it, got scared because I played at night(plus the heartless), shook it off, and got into the game and I loved it. Destati_Dream_XIII 91 Posted July 20, 2011 I was still pretty young when I saw it, so my first reaction was, "Oooo, Disney!" But when I actually played it, the story was what really hooked me.
Sora'sMum 352 Posted July 20, 2011 When I first saw it I was only 10 so the whole notion of saving hearts sounded 'uncool' to me. But a few years later my brother rented it from the video store and I played it and thought it was awesome!
earth_angel 73 Posted July 20, 2011 I got it for my 15th birthday. Heard there was a video game out that mixed FF and Disney and thought: ooohhhhhh gotta have it! So now I'm 22 and still playing a game in the series nearly every day
Keyblade King 12 486 Posted July 20, 2011 Um...If I remember correctly, I didn't really like the Kingdom Hearts series. I first saw an advert for Kingdom Hearts COM, I didn't even remember the name of it later on, but all I saw were disney characters looking really angry in the form of cards, with a young boy, looking pretty badass holding a Key based weapon. I didn't really think that it could be good. But later, a few months or a year, my school was selling the Kingdom Hearts manga. And I think this was my first manga as well. So I bought the series and thought it was amazing. Then I googled it and found out it was a game series, so I went out and bought the games and just...fell in love with it. Ace326 79 Posted July 20, 2011 The first time I saw it I was like this looks really gay. I guess I proved myself wrong.
Slicer9875 27 Posted July 20, 2011 I'm not sure really. I was introduced to KH in my cousin's house and that's when I first saw KH. I didn't know about it till then and I thought it was really good when I actually got my own copy and started playing at my house. The music was awesome and the cutscenes were really good along with the characters and plot.
CrownKeeper13 688 Posted July 20, 2011 To be honest, I thought it was the dumbest thing on the planet. Granted I was 5 and i wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. Then I played KH1 and I was immediately hooked.
keymace101 1 Posted July 20, 2011 I knew the game since 2003 but I never tried to play it because I thought the game was stupid and childish. Then I saw a fan comic about the game that made me curious to play it but back then we don't have a PS2 so I never bought the CD. Even when we bought the console, I never tried to play the game. When my sister started playing the game, it got me curious to play and yeah, I got hooked instantly.
keystrike 145 Posted July 20, 2011 My initial impression was pretty bland as I recall: yay a new video game. I must have gotten it as a present, but I knew hardly anything about it before I started the game.
Amon 4,279 Posted July 20, 2011 I was six, my Grandma gave me KH1(this was the year it came out) I saw Mickey Mouse on the cover and wanted to play it badly. It was fun because I was looking all over for Mickey (the only reason I actually played the game at the time) and the characters in the game were too. Though it took me 3 years to beat the game. 6 year olds don't have the best eye-hand coordination.

Key2Oblivion 37 Posted July 20, 2011 My first reaction was meh it's ok. Probably because my friends are the ones who convinced me to get chain of memories, which was my first kh game. Anyway I played through sora's story then riku's and I loved playing as riku so that side of the game got me interested in kh...so without reverse rebirth I probabaly wouldnt be playing kh at all. sephyfan98 8 Posted July 20, 2011 I first saw KH at a friend's house bout 2 years ago. It was KH2, I thought it was pretty 'interesting' so my friend let me make my own file. I was hooked instantly. Then a few months later I was at the library and saw KH2 on the sale cart, for 4 bucks. i bought it, and basically only recently got the first game...... RainingSnows 0 Posted July 20, 2011 I was a huge KH fan even before I completely knew what it was. I saw commerical for the first one, but I didn't know it had Disney in it. It just looked cool. I was about 6 or 7 at the time. My sister was 7 or 8. We went to buy a game at Walmart, and at the time my sister wanted Shrek the videogame. I was like "NO!!" And pointed at Kingdom Hearts and said i wanted that one. My dad got mad and said to pick just one, but me and my sister kept fighting over which game. So we ended up getting no videogame because of my dad. A year and a half later around my birthday I see Kingdom Hearts:CoM for Gameboy. I told my grandma thats what I wanted for my Bday even because I thought it was the first. Played it almost completely through, then lost my GB with it in it. Forgot about the series, then saw commerical for KH2 and then I went out and bought KH1 and KH2. Been hooked every since. I own every game besides the final mixes and the original coded and orginal Chain of Memories.
TripleNipple 308 Posted July 20, 2011 The first time I played it was at my sister's friend's house, and I was fighting Selphie. Once I beat her, I got it the next day and played it everyday and couldn't wait till the Second one
Razorwind Keyblade 304 Posted July 20, 2011 LOL I can relate to what Rob said as far as First Thoughts go.
J. Severe 1,137 Posted July 20, 2011 My first thought: "What's this weird kid doing with Disney characters?" I'm dead serious. That was my first thought when I saw the game for the first time at GameStop.

Zenithia 305 Posted July 20, 2011 tutti frutti. Not that I am downing the KH series in anyway, which would be a crime on this site to the highest extent, but I find it funny and interesting how gamers ignore a game and some time later come back to that same game and it's among the best things in the world, next to sliced bread. Too bad all games can't be that way in their own right.
