I think after everything with Roxas and Xion becoming Axel's new friends Saix began to have a sense of betrayal especially by seeing him going out of his way to hang out with what he saw as a doll over him. When Axel failed his mission to bring Roxas back, Saix didn't care what would happen to Axel, or at least not enough to align himself with a traitor. In the end there's really no use in taking over the organization because in his mind when Sora and the others are beaten he will be able to get a heart for himself finally, hence his last words: "Kingdom Hearts... I think Xaldin would do fine as leader but for some reason Xemnas made Saix second in command. Besides Xaldin, Saix, Marluxia, and Luxord, who do you think would be best fitted as leader? Rodman 22 Posted July 22, 2011 Xaldin was more of a soldier and Xigbar was too laidback. Saix wanted the job because he and Axel were planning to overthrow Xemnas. Thats why Saix was mad at Axel for getting in a good friendship with Roxas in 358/2 days because he thought it would ruin their plans. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this. And I wouldn't really say sauix is one of the strongest members n the Organzation, since he got beat by the same person twice (if you know who I'm referring to). And to the guys talking about Xigbar. Well, even though Xemnas has known Xigbar for a long time. Like, longer than any other members in the Organization. Saix just seems more organized and pretty much makes a good leader. Back in CoM(both versions), Marluxia showed that he had a lot of power on his own without using the moon of Kingdom Hearts to help him in battle in any special way. Yeah, Saix gets his power from the moon, but what did Marluxia rely on other than his own skill and power? If I remember right, the more stuff a member does the higher rank they are.
