You type a nice long forum post and as soon as you click you get a nice little message saying you're browser screwed up, or the servers are down and now you lost all that work. Or maybe you are on ebay and right when you enter the winning bid you get screwed up the ass by a 404 message. It only takes the number 10 spot because as technology advances this happens less and less and if anything, I personally take it as a sign to get off the internet for a while. 9. Trolls Yes, I'm not trolling.Even I find my own kind irritating at some points.Usually when I try trolling someone and it turns out they are actually trolling me, or when I come across trolls that instead of trying to rid people with flawed ideas and arguments, have flawed ideas and arguments themselves. However they take the number 9 spot because they are the spiders of the internet. They are pest themselves but remove even more annoying pest in the process. 8. Spammers Your in a chat room, or forum, trying to have a nice conversation when suddenly... Grammar Nazi's I don't understand Grammar Nazi's too much. Why do they feel the need to critique my grammar? Maybe I just don't feel like creating a proper sentence. Maybe I am in a hurry to say what I need to say and can't go back to edit my grammar. Maybe my keyboard is screwed up and typing properly is hard. Hell, maybe English isn't even my best language? Knock it off! You want to harass me about grammar? Fine! How about I harass you about your weight, or your kindness, or how much of a jackass with a superiority complex you are? However Grammar Nazi's aren't always that bad. At least they scare away the kiddies TAHT LIEK 2 TOK LIEK THIS!1!!!1!11 OMG LOL. And hell, at least I learn a thing or two about grammar while they are pissing me off. 6. Websites in Anarchy Occasionally you come across places on the internet where the owners said "Firetruck it" and abandoned the site. Still leaving it up, but not doing anything about it. As a result everyone bickers with each other and fights for control. This takes the number 6 spot because if it happens to a site you love, you are heartbroken, but at least you can avoid the flamewars and other results of internet anarchy. 5. People trying to be your friend when you don't want to be friends with them It happens all the time in the real world, so it's bound to happen on the internet. We've all come across that one person trying to be nice but you don't really want to talk with them. It's not that they've done anything wrong but something about them is just irritating. You know they mean well and you don't want to hurt their feelings so you are stuck with them, constantly annoyed. Some might just tell them to go away. However some people realize there is a human being somewhere trying to befriend you and as a result you are forever annoyed. 4. Real life people looking over your shoulder The internet is a place where we can escape. Talk about things we usually wouldn't talk about to people in the real world. But unless you are alone when you use the internet, you always have to worry about people seeing what is written on screen. It's usually not something bad that you wrote, but mostly just embarassing. And then Mr, I don't care about your privacy comes along and not only looks at your screen but screams "YOU LIKE [insert thing you are ashamed to like]!" at the top of their lungs. Another example is the jackass that reads your emails outloud. 3. Fanboys/Fangirls The scum of the internet in my opinion. They come in all forms but they seem to be immune to reason and logic. If you have a different opinion they will likely try to hunt you down and kill you for it.If you try to explain to them why you like something over something else they will still try to hunt you down and kill you. Fanboys and Fangirls are the zombies of the internet. Irrational, aggressive, and determined to destroy you. 2. Flame wars You are having a nice friendly discussion and then, opinions differ. If there is one thing people hate it's another person with a different opinion. First comes a debate, with valid points and everyone is poilte. Then an argument starts. Most points aren't valid and instead of trying to convince each other why their opinion is better, they instead start to try and prove why the other person is wrong. Afterward personal insults get tossed around and now the discussion isn't about who will win the World Cup, but how stupid the other country is and how stupid all the people in said country are. 1. Abusive Moderators This takes the cake. Some websites have an abusive mod or an entire army of abusive mods. They turn moderating into a full time job and as a result, soon go crazy with power. Handing out bands for minor offenses and creating rules so vague, they can use them as an excuse to ban others. These mods turn a website into the Third Reich. You have to worry about getting banned with every post you make and no matter how hard you try to not get banned. You still get banned. I disagree with this one, though. I love watching flame wars erupt, but they do get annoying when they are constant.
