His duty in the extra data was to prepare him for the hurt that naminé shows him, to see if he truly understands it. So actually, he means no harm.

No, the extra data added were the memories or you could say the hurt that became the source of the bugs. Because Roxas always did exist inside Sora, he appeared to try to show Sora hurt. In other words Roxas acted on his own. Also this data roxas body and ven's heart inside it having memories of something it within its recorded data self never remembered shows the connection between data and the real thing.

this definitely clears up things! i was honestly very surprised when i first saw castle oblivion & the guy in the black coat & then when i FINALLY got to fight him i figured out it was roxas. the whole castle oblivion/namine/roxas thing confused me a whole lot bc coded was hard for me to understand because of so much information & cutscenes they fit into the game (that & i had not played kh in a long time), i had never really thought that namine had not purposefully added data roxas into CB

I think it might be to see how Sora (or in this case Data Sora) would react when he has to might someone who has been consistently taunting him like Data Roxas did and how YX does in DDD.
