Survival Island

"Ryan! Where are you at?" Maya yelled. "I think I went the wrong way...great. And it's getting dark. Even better. And I'm too far away from our fire to see it...wow this isn't going well. Guess I'll just retrace my steps... Oh wait I don't know which direction I came from... I'll just go in a random direction." she sighed.

Soon it got very dark and Maya couldn't see very well. "Ya know what. I'm just gonna sit here 'til it gets brighter out here so I don't walk off a cliff or something." Maya said as she sat down.

Austin then when out to the shore with Momo. He started to pick up flat stones and spelt S.O.S. letters in big, so a plane could see it. When he was done, he sat down, criss cross apple sauce, and Momo got up and snuggled in his lap. Austin started to pet him. The air was cold, and Austin could hear the gentle breezing, and the smell of the saltwater. He closed his eyes. The pictures of a beach calmed and soothed him. Austin hasn't told Maya and the others that he had cancer. That didn't matter. He hadn't felt anything before. Austin, still petting Momo, lied down. He started to count the countless stars.

"One,two,three,four...can I have a little more...five,six,seven eight nine ten I love you."Austin started to sing.

"A,B,C,D. Can I bring my friend to tea? E,F,G,H,I,J, I love you."

The Beatles were Austin's favorite band. He started singing silently, singing Momo to sleep.

"Let it be...Let it be..-"Austin then fell asleep on the beach.

I think I pointed Ryan in the wrong direction earlier...crap. Maya thought to herself. She sighed, "Ya know what, I'm gonna try to find my way back...even though its really dark under these trees.". Maya walked past a few trees and heard rustling in some plants. Maya started to worry. It's just the wind, nothing to be scared of... she tried to reassure herself. She heard a growl and then a lound roar, she backed up until she ran into a tree. She grabbed tightly onto it, closed her eyes, then started to breathe heavily.

A rather large tiger walked in between two trees next to Maya. She opened her eyes and saw the tiger. "...Help! Someone!" Maya screamed at the top of her lungs. The tiger was startled and quickly swiped its paw at Maya's face, leaving four big scratches across the left side of her face. "AHH!" she scramed in pain as she fell to the ground, holding her face. Seeing that Maya was not a threat to it, the tiger walked away slowly. Maya started to cry and thought, I really need to stop coming out here alone...

Austin woke up. He was going to gather more fruit. He gathered some bananas and lemons.

"Hmm...the fish are probably done..."Austin said. He ran back, laughing.

Once Austin got back, he started squeezing lemons ontop of the fish,the bugs, and the tarantula. The water started to boil. The bugs started to expand. Austin covered the pan with tin foil. If the bugs exploded, that would make the whole dish healthy. Austin then went to find more people. But there, he found Maya, with scratches on her face.

"Maya!!! What happened!? Are you okay!?"Austin yelled.

"I'm fine. A tiger came by, I'm glad it didn't do worse..." Maya said. "Only thing is, it scratched my eye and I can't really see out of it now..." she sighed. Maya got up and leaned against a tree. "Face it. Nobody's gonna rescue us! Were gonna be on this island for the rest of our lives and you know it!" she said, angry. She sighed and looked at Austin. "Sorry... I just... what are we going to do...?"

Austin listened to Maya.

"Actually Maya, I have a plan..."Austin said, in a devious look. Momo was still sleeping on Austin's shoulders.

"So then, since the airplane probably still has gasoline, we can get some from the tank, and build a rocket! We should do it once we see an airplane..."Austin started. "But first, Maya, do you think you can help me? We need to make it smell good if the person is using a helicopter, and to do that, we use fruit, and with some bamboo, so it could make a cracking noise if someone passes by! Perhaps they'll check the island!"Austin said, excitedly.

Maya looked puzzled. "Do you really think that'll work? And, for all we know, we could be completely off of the plane's course. Nobody'll know where we are! So what are the odds that a helicopter would even come here looking for us." she pointed out. she thought about Austin's idea for a while. "... Okay what do I have to do...?" she said and smiled.

"We have to gather something hard, like bamboo! Also, something that smells really good, or really bad, your choice."Austin said. Austin was getting really excited now.

"By the way, I have food ready at camp. Let's talk more about it while we're eating."Austin said.

Back at the shelter, Austin took out the tinfoil. The bugs exploded alright, but it look really good. It looked like the chicken you get from shake and bake, with some yellow liquid on it. Ausitn took one of the salmon and bit it. It was the best thing, as if it was heaven on Earth.

"So as I was saying,"Austin said, feeding Momo some of the bugs,"We would have a better chance if we actually see a plane coming."

"Hm. I guess this could be fun." Maya laughed. There was a silence for a little while. So Maya, trying to break the silence, said. "... Ya know Austin, I don't know much about you. Where sre you from?" Maya asked. "I mean, you don't have to talk about it if it's too personal, but I'm just curious..."

"Yeah, I'm from California. I'm Asian. I'm pretty much a regular boy.sorta"Austin said.

"What about you, Maya? Where are you from?"Austin asked.

"Hey, I was going to visit my brother in California before the plane crashed. I'm from Tennessee. Where were you going when the plane crashed?" Maya asked.

"Back to California,"Austin said,"By the way, who are the other people you are talking about that are also here in this island?" Austin started to pet Momo, who was barely awake. Momo stretched and got out of Austin's shoulder and pooped. Austin couldn't help to laugh.

"Pffft at least Momo got off of your shoulder." Maya laughed. "Hm. There are a few more people on the island that you haven't met yet. Like Ryan, who I accidentally gave the wrong directions to camp, there's another girl, I didn't catch her name, and there could be other people living here that I saw the first night here. I think I threw a rock at one of them though... Maybe someone else she be the one looking for people." Maya laughed.

As rose woke up, she was surprised to find Ray making breakfast." What are you doing Ray?" Said Rose." Making breakfast cause you weren't up." Said Ray." Where did you find the food?"." In the plane.I found it in the back next to our cloths." "Ray,next time wake me up cause I slept in and i dont want to do that again.Okay?"."Okay."

As Rose and Ray were eating their food, Rose saw something wrong with Ray. "Ray,whats wrong? Do you miss the life in California,hanging out with your friends,updating your youtube,facebook,twitter?"."Yes i do. I tryed getting a hold with my friends on facebook on my phone but-".Rose stopped Ray."Wait!!You still have your phone on you?!!"."I dont go anywhere without it Rose.How do you think I posted meeting you on the boardwalk, and our first kiss under the stars in the moonlight on the beach?"."Do you have your laptop on you?"."Baby,I always have it. Remember, the beach?".As Rose sits on her chair,Ray sees that Rose is beginning to cry."Rose,whats wrong?" Ray asks." How are we gonna get service in the middle on nowhere?"Asks Rose."Funny story.As I was looking for my laptop,cause my phone was under my set,I found this here spoon and I was thinking 'hey, this spoon can come in handy', so I put it in my pocket. And i think we can put it inside this and get service...WITH A SPOON!!!!"." Ray,that idea is so crazy...I think it will work with a saw to carve it into size and then we'll go from there".As Ray was looking for drinks, Rose saw someone in the distance."HEY YOU!!" She called out.

Then Julius woke up and saw a monkey walking around the camp. "Time to test out this tazer gun," Julius said cracking up. Then Julius tazed the monkey and it fell over. When Julius removed the tazer from the monkey; it slapped him in the face and ran and climbed up a nearby tree. "Im gonna taze you to death next time a see you, you stupid monkey!" Then Julius spent the rest of his leisurely laying around and snacking on the food that was lying around the camp.

Austin saw some food laying down around the camp.

"What's this?"he asked. He started to pick up the food.

"This looks delicious!"he started to say, staring at the food. He grabbed Momo by his chest. He took him to the tent.

"Momo, here, have some food. I know your monkey friends are looking for you. I even saw one in a tree. But please, stay here."Austin told him. He gave Momo all of the food. He walked outside. He cleaned Momo's poop by grabbing a banana leaf.

'HEY YOU!!' Maya heard someone shout. "Hey, Austin. Did you hear that?" she asked. She got up and looked past a few trees and saw a girl and a boy standing not to far from where she was. "C'mon, Austin!" she said as she went towards the people.

Austin heard the shout also.

"Who's there!?"asked Austin. He saw 2 people. A boy and a girl. He started to walk towards them.

"Who are you??"he asked loudly. He grabbed Momo.

"Are you from the plane crash?"Austin asked.

"Are you from the plane crash?" Rose heard." Yes we are." Said Ray. As Rose was running down the beach, with Ray close behind her, they were coming near the voice that called out to them.

"Look! There they are!" Maya shouted and ran toward them. Still not being able to see in her left eye, she ran into a tree and fell on the ground. "This is really getting annoying..." she said as she got up and continued toward the people.

Once she was closer to them she said, "Hi, I'm Maya. Who are you?"

"I'm Rose and this is Ray." Rose said to Maya. "How did you get on this island? We were on our way to Hawaii, and the plane hit turbulence, and we crashed down."Said Ray.

Austin listened.

"Sorry,"he said,"I didn't get to introduce myself."

"My name is Austin, and this is Momo."he said. Momo was smiling, monkey style.

"And the way I got to this island. I was going back to California."he said.

"I was also going to California, to see my brother." Maya said. "Would you two like to come back with us? We think we might've found way to get off of the island," she said, "and we could use your help."

"Oh, cool.Hello Austin." Said Ray. "Yes we would love to go back with you and help you. Ray found his laptop and a...spoon and I think what we can do is sharpen the spoon and make it fit into that thingamajig and get service and say to are friends that we are stuck on this island." Said Rose. "Whats your idea Maya?" Said Ray.

Austin talked for Maya.

"We're building...fire crackers..."Austin said with a grin.
