Dissidia Final Fantasy : Chaos Wins

Genesis chuckled.

"Your the doctor, shouldn't that be more up to you?" he asked, Genesis sat back in his chair, sighing.

 

"My friend, do you fly away now?

To a world that abhors you and I?

All that awaits you is a somber morrow

No matter where the winds may blow

Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess

Even if the morrow is barren of promises

Nothing shall forestall my return" Genesis recited he looke at the orbs, and picked up Chaos's orb and then Cosmos'.

"Hm..." he said. he slowly brought them closer, creating some sort of static friction.

"Like magnets..." he said. he then sighed and looked to Cid.

"Hey, how did you know that... Balthier kid?" he asked.

{Dr Cid}

Cid stops a moment in his reading.

"He is my son." Cid states simply. "He and I have never really seen eye to eye."

Cid sighs.

"I had hoped that our working together would have mended some of our differences, but my son does not understand the realities of the worlds."

Dr Cid once again focuses on his notes. Perhaps Ffamran would come around later.

"Ah." Cid says, finding the entree he had been looking for.

"Our next piece seems to be in a land called Zanarkand."

Genesis looked at him, confused about his son.

'wonder how Zack and him are getting along?' he wondered in his mind, he then nodded. Venat looekd to both of them, and then created a portal, Genesis made sure to grab all the orbs, and then walked through the portal. They re-appeared in some sort of ruins. (atleast that's what i think zanarkand is now) Genesis looekd around.

"Soem sort of abandoned civilization?" he asked.

Lightning snapped awake, pulling herself up. The warriors of Chaos were nowhere to be seen, but Cosmos was... and where had Balthier gone? That cocky ladies man probably went ahead without them. Her wounds stil stinging, she took a few steps back as to not draw attention to herself. She was still marked by Chaos; not something to attract attention to. Speaking of Chaos...

 

Cid would be looking for the next piece of Ultima. He already had... four? Who knows how many were left? She thought about where to go next. The only thing left to do was complete Ultima before Cid. Midgar came to mind. As good a place to start as any...

 

In a flash of black flame, the l'Cie had vanished from Sanctuary.

Johnny was flying full force at the Sky Fortress. When he got there, there was nobody there. Johnny was full of rage. He began to attack the fortress himself. Bits of metal flew through the air as Johnny stabbed and slashed through it.

The stone had broken. Magic was seeping out, slowly but surely. Luckily, Cosmos had healed enough in the stone to exist back outside. Vicente began to seal the wound with darkness, then looked at the warriors around him. Vicente vanished through a portal and ended up at Midgar. He began to think to himself, 'Did I...take Cosmos for myself...or for them? Did I really help the light?'

Gabranth watched the Sky Pirate turn into a crystal. He then walked over to the goddess and said, "I know that I have tried to kill you before, but my heart lies not with Chaos any longer. I wish to become your warrior, to fight and defend you from these threats."

Cosmos nodded, "Very well, Noah."

The name resounded in the head of the Judge Magister and he knelt before Cosmos. Light came out of Gabranth's body and he told the goddess, "I am now and forever in your service. I shall act both as sword and shield to the forces of harmony."

Jaina looked around to the warriors now at Sanctuary. All that was left was Zack, Serah, Noel, and that other kid called Joe. She decided to stick around with them until they were ready to go.

Genesis had mentioned something about a "Gift of the Goddess". H also thought that it might be Ultima. Lightning stood atop one of the delapitated buildings in Edge. This place was falling apart. She couldn't see any people, but she had expected that: there hadn't been anyone in the other worlds either. On ething that stole her attention, however, was a statue erected in the center of what seemed to be the town square. It looked like... a meteor?

 

After more investigation, she had discovered an event called "Meteorfall" and a creature known only as JENOVA. Could this JENOVA be the one who brought Ultima down upon this world? And this "Gift of the Goddess"...

 

Her head swam as all of the questions assualted her. Lightning had no doubt that Chaos' lot would work their way here eventually. She had to work fast.

Zack nodded towards Gabranth, Cosmos seemed weak.

'Hey, where's that warrior of light guy?' he thought in his mind. he sighed and then looked to Cosmos.

"We're going after Cid and Genesis, they need to pay for what they did." he said, Cosmos sighed.

"genesis use to be a warriorof harmony." she said, Zack's eyes widened.

"Surely you must be mistaken." he said, she shook her head.

"I feel him... he doesn't have a clear conchence." he said, Zack sighed.

"Alright..." he said, Cosmos looked to them.

"I must rest... prepare yourselves, you each hold a piece of the Ultima within you, but there are others... seek them out... stop chaos." she said, she then dissipeared. Zack looked at Balthier's crystal, he sighed, then looked to the others.

"Alright, let's head out." he said.

Vicente wandered the ruins of Midgar and spotted something in the nearby town of Edge. It was the statue of Meteorfall. There was someone looking at it. Could it be... Lightning?

Vicente ran towards Lightning and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Jaina readied her pistols and asked Zack, "Where do we start looking?"

Zack sighed.

"Good question." he said, he thought for a moment.

"hm... I say we start heading to other worlds and search." he said, the others agreed.

"Now as for the world... anyone have any ideas?" he asked, sighing.

Genesis kept lookign around.

"where should we head doc?" he asked.

Lightning spun around, blade in hand. "Vicente. You're here sooner than I expected." Her face twisted into anger. "I'm here for the same reason you are. Ultima."

 

The sky overhead was darkening. Thunder could be heard in the distance. It would rain soon.

 

"I've already figured out where Utima is." The l'Ce lied. "It's mine."

Vicente backed up at the sight of the blade. He regained his composure and replied, "It's not Ultima I'm after. It's Cid and Genesis. I was only called here to support Chaos, not keep this war going." He looked down in shame, "Johnny found a way to escape, but we need both gods to do it. We can't have those two ne'er do wells running around killing gods." He put his hand out, "I'm asking for your trust and alliance. Together, we can keep everyone from having to return to this battlefield."

Jaina replied, "How about mine? I know my way around, it shouldn't take long at all."

{Dr Cid}

"Zanarkand." Cid repeats. "I believe Jecht comes from there."

A warning light flashes on a nearby console. Dr Cid moves to check it.

A look of surprise comes over Dr CId's face.

"Interesting." He says, absently.

He turns to Genesis.

"One of the warrior's of Cosmos is here. I believe is name is Johnny."

Dr Cid chuckles.

"He is attacking the Fortress itself. Foolish boy."

Cid shakes his head.

"Well, let us leave this boy to his anger and make for Zanarkand."

~Rinoa~

 

Rinoa was desperately lost in World B. She had lost her way in the Land of Discord and could feel a lot of energy released from the Sanctuary. "What was that? Let's see she had better find Vaan and figure out her next move. She continued flying and could see many manikins below her. But one stood out. A purple woman with large wings and a disgusted look on her face. Rinoa started at the manikin feeling a strange connection. "Who is that? Maybe I should take a look." Rinoa began to lightly descend when she heard a manikin's warbled voice call out, Thundaga!" Lightning struk her as she crashed to be met by a Fleeting Flash and Transient Lion. "Squall.... No. Its just a..." Rinoa tried to get up as the purple manikin strode toward her with his gunblade raised.

 

He lunged forward and Rinoa screamed and tried to shield herself with her arms but the attack never came as a large beam if light shined down from the sky and took her awsy from the Land of Discord. Then she felt drops of water land on her body and gasped. She moved her arms away from her face and found herself in an empty city with dark clouds looming over it. She got up abd looked around a bit. But something caught her eye, a large statue of an event called Meteorfall. She began to read an inscription but stopped as she heard a familiar voice say, "I've already figured out where Utima is.It's mine." Lightning was here but who wad she taking to? She slowly walked around the statue to see Lightning taking to a Warrior of Chaos who she didn't know. She then noticed Lightning had her Weapon drawn so she followed suit and ran next to her. "Let's take him on Light! Ultima should be for Cosmos not Chaos!"

Johnny stopped crying when he heard a glimmer of a voice in the control room. "...Let us leave...for Zanarkand..." It was Cid's voice! They must be planning to take something from there as well! Johnny ran up the ramp and into the control room. Johnny looks around and sees Cid and Genesis at the computer ready to leave.

Johnny points the x-Blade at Cid and commands, "Step away from the controls, Cid."

{Dr Cid}

Dr Cid calmly looks over at Johnny.

"Ah, yes." Cid says. "The young man with the interesting weapon."

Dr Cid steps toward Johnny.

"A little hot headed, are we?" Cid chuckles. "Not very becoming for a hero."

Cid turns away and walks a little bit away from Johnny.

"Why all this anger toward me? Shouldn't you be going after your rival?"

"Vicente didn't stab Cosmos for the sake of a lousy stone," Johnny snapped back at Cid. "To me, it seems you want to be a god by taking the real ones out. Not very becoming for the liberator of man."

Vicente lowered his hand after Rinoa jumped in, "Look, I didn't come here to fight. I just came to ask for help. Everything here is at risk. The conflict could come undone if Cid succeeds. Chaos has disappeared, all they need to do is get rid of Cosmos and they've won. I refuse to let that happen, for the sake of my master."

Lightning's eyes shifted from Vicente to Rinoa, then back. It was that girl from Orphan's Cradle. The stress was causing her Chaos l'Cie mark to burn. She kept the blade raised, even though the man had backed down. She turned her attention back to the warrior of Chaos.

 

"As for you... honestly, I don't know if I can trust you. Cid fed me the same words, then expected me to bring my blade to Cosmos' throat!" She lowered the weapon, walking past him. Claire stopped, turning back slightly. "Rinoa, was it?" She looked back ahead, walking down the alley. "Don't follow me. You'll only get burned."

Vicente looked down disappointed, "That's the second time I've had to watch her reject me like that." His eyes fell back on Rinoa, "What about you? Will you help me fight the threat to all our worlds?" He reached out his hand once more.

Dr Cid snorts.

"You think I wish to replace the gods?" He laughs. "How little you know."

He shakes his head.

"Of course I will use it to better mankind, but not with out allies."

He brings arms up, out to his sides.

"Men of vision. Who know how to reshape the worlds, and enlighten those would need to see how to take their destinies."

He looks at Johnny,

"Are you such a person?"

Genesis watched him give his speecch, he sighed.

'Prima dona.' he thought in his mind. he leaned by the wall waiting for cid to finish.

Zack sighed.

"Hm, alright then, let's head there." he said, Jaina smiled and opened a portal.

Johnny lowered his weapon from its aim at Cid, "Vision can be tainted and twisted by powers higher than us. Destiny comes at a time we don't know. And worlds certainly don't need men like you reshaping them!" Johnny once more raised his blade, "You want to change the world? Show me what power you hold, if it's strong enough to resist even the Key of Destiny."

Jaina walked through the portal. They had ended up on the Star Command Flight Deck.

Jaina motioned the other warriors to the various ships and doors, "You know what we're looking for. Don't get lost." Jaina went into the main control room and looked for some kind of hint of where their Ultima shard could be.

Dr Cid looks at Johnny, then his blade, then back to Johnny.

"I don't have time for your antics." He says, no humor in his voice.

"If you want to fight"

He gesture over to Genesis.

"Please see this gentlemen."

Genesis stopped leaning, he sighed then stepped forward, drawing his sword out.

"alright then." he said, the materia studs on hos sword glew red, like a lightsaber.

"Bring it on." he said.

Zack looked around the place.

"Wow." he said, lookign around. He walked down a couple flights.

~Rinoa~

Why did Lightning have to be so cold and compassionless? Just like how He used to be. She turned to follow her but the Minion of Chaos began to speak to her. Ah but this man....she didn't trust him one bit, but it wouldn't hurt to hear out his cause. "I might but what exactly is this threat? The Gods can only hurt me by sending me home." But in her heart she knew that wasn't true. For one she could end up trapped here forever, never to return home!

As Lightning walks down the alley, she sees Cloud leaning against a wall.

"Still a stubborn, I see." He says quietly.

Cloud smirks slightly.

"Good to see somethings don't change. Long time no see, Lightning."
