P50L 610 Posted May 10, 2011 2012 is believed to be the end of the world, others say that it's a new beginning...It's just a new beginning....not a planet coming ruining the earth's magnetic field and the north and south pole shifting which causes global climate changes
ObsidianEagle 103 Posted May 10, 2011 lol, they think it's a scam for money it's a possiblity that the world will end, foretold by an acient civilisation which has since been completely over-reacted by people.
baylaust 2,531 Posted May 10, 2011 The Mayan calender stops on that day. The end of the world was never fortold, predicted, whatever. The calender just stops on that date, and begins a new cycle. Nothing is going to happen.
Amon 4,279 Posted May 10, 2011 It's a scam trust me. The Mayan calendar just ends on that date the same way our calendars end every year on December 31st. As you can clearly see, the world doesn't end. Wherever people got the doomsday theories from is beyond me which is why it's a scam.
Ixcalia 10 Posted May 10, 2011 Well, if you really think about it, how many times have they claimed that it'll be the end of the world? I think they said the same thing for the year 2000, but we're all still here, huh?
Rob 5,571 Posted May 10, 2011 If you believe in 2012, then it's clear you want to die.
TheKingdomkid 1,194 Posted May 10, 2011 if the Mayans could predicd the end of the world how come they couldnt predicd the Spanish Army comeing to attack them (or whatever army took them over lol shows how much i pay attention in history class)
Amon 4,279 Posted May 11, 2011 if the Mayans could predicd the end of the world how come they couldnt predicd the Spanish Army comeing to attack them (or whatever army took them over lol shows how much i pay attention in history class) This is how it went. Christopher Columbus: Hey guys! There an entire new world filled with primitive people! Spaniards: Cool lets go! *30 days at sea later Mayans: Oh hi! You must be visitors from the other side of the world. Welcome! We are an advanced civilization with pyramids and 2000 year calendars! Spaniards: Yeah, yeah give us all your stuff. Mayans: Excuse me? We've existed for thousands of years, we aren't going to give up that easily. Spaniards: So you've been around thousands of years eh? Do you have guns? Mayans: Guns? *Spaniards destroy all the Mayans and take survivors as slaves. 1 Keyblader reacted to this
AlucardSuccessor 19 Posted May 11, 2011 Just like stated above, their calendar ends at that day, just like our calendars end at December 31st. Mayans couldn't predict the future although they did have highly skillful astronomical knowledge. Although there many theories about the end of the world (the most famous is the Big Crush) none have been scientifically proven as correct. It may be a planet doing that stuff to our magnetic field, or it could be the ancient Aztec legend of the 5 Suns. Heck it could even be a humongous flying pizza crashing into Earth(just kidding sorry). There is absolutely no one that knows how the world is going to end. With our society the it is right now, the world can in a million possible ways. A little off-topic now: Pay more attention to global history, yes there was a belief that the world would end on 2000, and yes it was the Spanish that invaded Central America. Just saying. That's the day after my birthday. Wonderful. According to them it's the day the rapture will happen. AKA Jesus comes down takes all the good people to heaven and kills all the bad people. Hopefully there's xbox live in heaven... or hell... or purgatory, wherever I wind up.

deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted May 13, 2011 If you ask me, the Mayans said, "Okay, we've made a calender to 2012. I think that's enough for now. Let's get back to sacrificing people to our god!" That or they ran out of rocks or whatever they made the calanders were made out of. I mean, seriously, how long ago was this? And are we supposed to trust people that commit mass homocide to feed their gods?
RoxasKey2DestinyXx 27 Posted May 13, 2011 People have been trying to predict the end of the world for centuries now. Have you ever wondered just WHY we do this? It's kind of funny.. the thing back in 2000, when the date hit 06/06/06, Now May 21, 2011. The only one who really knows when time will cease is God. Sora'sMum 352 Posted May 13, 2011 The world is actually going to end December 22nd 2012, not 21st. There was a printing error on the Mayan's calender.
AlucardSuccessor 19 Posted May 13, 2011 Guys if there is a person who knows when it will end it's either God or Nostradamus who predicted the end of the world(sadly he was labeled a lunatic and his profecy/riddle was lost)
Amon 4,279 Posted May 14, 2011 Guys if there is a person who knows when it will end it's either God or Nostradamus who predicted the end of the world(sadly he was labeled a lunatic and his profecy/riddle was lost) Well he is a lunatic... everything he foretold was so incredibly vague that they probably happened at least 3 times since his death. One of his most famous predictions was the 9/11 attack which he told everyone through this drawing. Notice that there is one, solitary burning building. If I were to show you how many images I found of buildings burning like this I would exceed my bandwidth limit. He also foretold the rise of a dictator, which leads us to the whole Hitler bullcrap. Note how he never actually stated that the dictator would be Hitler, or even German, and not even a drawing to boot. Anyone who takes Nostradamus seriously are the people who are living in the wilderness because they are paranoid that some big catastrophe is going to happen. Don't get me wrong, his predictions are interesting and I respect him for his influence on humanity and all the wonderful conspiracy theories we get from him, but seriously, his predictions are ridiculous.
