Also, there's not much else on TV anyway, and it's a good way to start the weekend.

They looked pretty enthusiastic.
Amon 4,279 Posted April 29, 2011 Why would I watch the wedding of two people I never met? Tell me when the new King gets coronated, that will be worth watching.
King Riku 2,063 Posted April 29, 2011 I don't see what the big deal is. I know, history and stuff right? Good for the people who take an intrest in this stuff, but I just don't have time/don't care much. My mom was watching it though, and I know alot of people were going crazy every time they kissed. TheApprenticeofKingMickey 3,689 Posted April 29, 2011 I loved the Royal Wedding. Kate was beautiful. Seeing as how Canada is one of the Commonwealth countries, it does interest me.
Rob 5,571 Posted April 29, 2011 I don't care about the wedding. They won't be watching my wedding. If they were just normal people, no one would be watching it.
FlipMode 141 Posted April 29, 2011 ^Except they are not the same as normal people, they are the royal family. If you were marrying into royalty, Kate Middleton probably would have been watching your wedding. I don't see what the big deal is. I know, history and stuff right? Good for the people who take an intrest in this stuff, but I just don't have time/don't care much. My mom was watching it though, and I know alot of people were going crazy every time they kissed. It is not the fact that it is a historical event, I mean yes sure it is that but it is also the fact that this woman is becoming a princess and may one day be our queen. Which is similar, possibly even more so in monarchy comparison to becoming President in the U.S. By that I mean, this woman may become queen of the UK. Which makes it pretty darn important. We have an election system to choose our Prime Minister, just as you guys do for your president, but then our monarch have power even over them and that is why it was important. If the royal family weren't royal, they wouldn't be on t.v., same with Kate getting married to someone else, no one would watch.
ObsidianEagle 103 Posted April 29, 2011 You keep on saying that most english people don't care but there were so many people lining the streets watching. They looked pretty enthusiastic. there were only a few thousand people there. and most people (like my sister and her friends) were there just to say they were at the royal wedding, they really didn't care about it. heartless101 83 Posted April 30, 2011 I live in LA. It was on while I was sleeping. I personally don't really care about it that much. It was on around at 4 in the morning-ish? 3? I don't think that it was really worth watching that much.

Dude, he can be king! If you pay attention, William is second in line to the throne after his father. He is future king of the United Kingdom and all of the Commonwealth countries. Hence, he will be our king one day. The queen's profile being on the Canadian currency is proof of that. The British monarchy is the most famous and largest remaining monarchy in world and you know why? Because they have territories that stretch all over the world. Other monarchies in the world don't have that. They are ignored or their existence isn't even known. And just because William married a commoner doesn't mean he no longer has any claim to the throne. The reason why there's so much hype about it (because the last few royal weddings were mostly ignored) is because, not only is William future king but it's the first time a commoner has married an heir to throne in 350 years. That's why everyone's all, "OOH! KATE MIDDLETON AND PRINCE WILLIAM!" I see you don't give a crap about the royals, but if you paid attention to them, you'd know exactly everything I just said before you posted that reply. Think Pink 1,967 Posted April 30, 2011 I used to beauty of Tivo. I'll be watching it when I get the chance, though! 8D I really don't know why I care, but I do.
ObsidianEagle 103 Posted April 30, 2011 the only reason the wedding was big and televised was because it got in money for England. loads of people came over here just to watch it, and they payed for hotel rooms, food, drink, etc.
