How does Ventus's heart summon his keyblade and create a direct portal to the Land of Departure? I thought in order to go directly from one world to the next, you had to use the dark portals. Why couldn't Aqua use these portals of light herself, after all she is more experienced than Ventus?

This is one of those reading too much into it situations. Aqua said Ven needs a safe place, and Ven's heart responded to his friend by creating a door to Land of Departure. Don't you think if Aqua could have done it, she would have done it throughout the game? You could say this is similar to Sora and Riku at the end of KH2. Xehanort and Vanitas were the only ones that used dark portals in Birth by Sleep.

will actually ven didn't do it his keyblade did keyblades have a well of there own and in that case it responded to ven's heart in other words the keyblade knew what ven wanted
