Kinode 3,056 Posted March 31, 2011 Hum, no one really knows, only Nomura.
::Heart_XIII:: 2 Posted March 31, 2011 It's probably because he's in his KH1 form, when he doesn't have a keyblade yet.
Tails 6,692 Posted March 31, 2011 As a few people stated, nobody knows exactly why Riku has Soul Eater instead of Way To Dawn.

Rob 5,571 Posted March 31, 2011 Since they are in their KH1 clothes, they have what they had in KH1, meaning Soul Eater and not Way to Dawn.

deathrebirthsenshi 279 Posted March 31, 2011 Well, if they are supposed to be starting their adventure over from the beginning, he shouldn't really have the soul eater either...it may have something to do with accepting his darkness or something. Or maybe he loses the keyblade for a special reason in the game. Who knows? I just know that Nomura needs to hurry and get this game out.
hatok 6,413 Posted April 1, 2011 Way To Dawn and Soul Eater are TECHNICALLY the same, I personally hope we find out the details behind the transformation in DDD. What's with my name?
rikunobodyxiii 700 Posted April 1, 2011 Since the game is mainly in a dream, basically, the reasons can be that is what Riku sees himself using. Riku has used Soul Eater for longer than he has Way To The Dawn.
hatok 6,413 Posted April 1, 2011 Quote Since the game is mainly in a dream, basically, the reasons can be that is what Riku sees himself using. Riku has used Soul Eater for longer than he has Way To The Dawn. It has never been explicitly sated that the game takes place in a dream. It's a common theory, but dreams could easily be a gameplay mechanic, or it could be metaphorical.

sota9 4 Posted April 3, 2011 Maybe Riku has something or knows something in KH2 that he didn't know in KH that let him make Soul eater a keyblade.

What's with my name? can you explain that, im a little confused as to how they are the same i thought that riku's keyblade used soul eater as a base for design
hatok 6,413 Posted April 4, 2011 Sould Eater at some point 'evolved' into Way to Dawn. We don't know the who what where when how or why.
karma 0 Posted April 4, 2011 riku needs a key blade

sota9 4 Posted April 5, 2011 Quote ... DDD takes place after KH2. Sorry I mean it was said that "DDD or KH3D will occur in the same timeline as current game" that's why the ending will shock us because it will give us a new look at all the other KH games. Mog 97 Posted April 15, 2011 I think it's because nomura doesn't want to release too much actual game material in the launch trailer. Pretty much all the trailer looked beta. In the real thing Riku will have the way to dawn, because he won't participate in the mom with a sword, he has to use his keyblade.
Wolf on the Run 391 Posted April 15, 2011 riku has it cause its just the way riku is but some times i think its because riku thinks he doesnt hae the right to use his keyblade cause remember when sora saw him in land of dragons riku was still using the plain sword not way to the dawn
