My name is Kharg. I've dedicated four years of my life studying about old rites. In that time, I've found things that would surprise even God. Oh yeah, I live in a community since I was 15. My family died in a tragic accident, but I seriously don't want to talk about it. Soon, we're going to get a new person here. It's name is Uli, Umi? Oh yeah, Uni. I wonder how she is.. Will she like my old and weird books? The best thing in the world for me is read. I know a huge number of languages which are really interesting. Oh, I must go sleep now. I wonder how this "Uni" is. Well, I'm going to find out tomorrow.

Shortly after nightfall, I was forced to leave from my home town Kanasan to go to Pluhot. I have no idea where this was or what kind of town it is. Yet all I know is that it is somewhere in the middle of this dead senerary.

Anyways, i have gaurds watching me to make sure i don't runaway. i don't even know what i did to deserve this kind of treatment. but, what was it that i do wrong?

"How much further?" i asked after we went for miles.

"We're going to stop here for the night....we'll pick in the morning." The guard stated as he pitched a tent where we were standing.

he then took me by the arm and guided me into the tent.

"Go to sleep now." the guard told me as the others took root outside the tent.

"Can i change first?" i asked.

"Hurry up, then get to bed. we'll be raising early to finish up our travel tomorrow.

It's finally the day after yesterday. Today we'll finally meet our new "member". Not much has been revealed about her. I wonder if she'll be my friend or not. Just two hours and then, she'll be here. I don't know why but I'm feeling that this meeting will be good. Uni.. Uni... What a different name. Why can't I stop thinking on that name?

 

Man, my curiosity is killing me. Thankfully, I'm not a cat. My friend, Kanzo, told me that the new member, Uni, was stopped with guards. Are they her guards? Is she a famous person? No, it can't be.. if she was, she wouldn't be coming to this poor place... There aren't many reasons why a person has guards... If she's not famous or rich.. Maybe the guards were instructed to stay looking her... Is she a bad person? I wonder if she has already done any crime.. Well, at every minute, I can't stop thinking about that... Now, my curiosity is about to be killed. We're almost in time for the meeting. I'll get my good clothes and head for the room of meetings.

We finished our walk to this strange town that was said to pluhot...oh...why is this happening to me?i just don't see any reason to it. placing me with these--- we came into town...well it looks more like a community than a town...and what a low standard place this is.

Anyways, the gaurds directed me through the commnity and were stopped by a person...he looked like someone important.

 

"Is this the suspect from Kanasan?" the person asked.

"Yes, this is her." the main guard asnwered.

"What is her sentence and where is she sent here instead of somewhere else?"

The guard went up to the person and whispered what i had 'supposedly' had done and then they continued in a whispered conversation. i huffed sigh in frustration.

"Can we go now to wherever i'm suppose to go?" i asked agitatedly.

"she's impatient i see..." the person plainly stated in shock.

"Yes, i believe she had always been this way...ever since she was born." the guard had answered.

'wait a minute...what did he say? how would this guard know how i was the moment i was born.' i thought to myself.

Meanwhile, somewhere further in the community...

In our community, there was a place where we- I mean, who wanted- could learn. Imagine it like a school. We were in the class and I was wondering why we did not yet see the new girl. Instantly, I asked the teacher, who simply answered "No, you can't."

"What? Can't I see the new member? Why? Give me a good reason" I asked our monitor.

"At least for now, you won't be able to. She's not a normal person... I can't tell you more, but just don't try to find her, please." The monitor replied.

"Hahaha! You asked me to not search for her? Then I'm going to search for her after this class" I thought this while I was also trying to figure out what he meant by "She's not a normal person."

Hours after that class, I tried to find the girl. Sadly, I failed. While I was trying to, the headmaster caught me. Thankfully, thought, he did not put me in detention. But that won't stop me... At the night, I'll look out for her. There's something strange here...

there was something strange about the way the gaurd had said 'i believe she had always been this way...ever since she was born'. What did he mean by that?...'ever since she was born'. i'm a really that different from the people i was forced to leave. was i not safe? Did i do something wrong that i don't remember? that's impossible, nothing could possess me. What am i suppose to do, if it is true? As i was pondering this over, they were continue to talk as they walked away...i ran up to catch up to them.

"Where will she stay so she won't cause trouble?" the gaurd asked.

"I know where she could stay...but from what you tell me about her, he may not want her in the room with him."

"Who is the person that she'll be with?"

i got caught back up in my thoughts that i didn't get to hear who they were talking about...but isn't bad enough to let me stay with a guy that i don't even know? i shook my head to get the idea out of my mind, then i decided to take out my music player and turned to a song then listened to it.

We walked forever, again, it seems like we were walking in circles and getting nowhere fast. Until i ran into the guard that had stopped directly in front of me. i took out an ear bud and looked at him.

"this is where you are going to stay...until you clean up your act."

my lips parted in shock. "What!?...No, you can't do that to me. i did nothing wrong...why am i even being punished?" i couldn't hold in my rantings anymore.

"I'm sorry Ms. Salvera, but those are the rules of which the court had given."

"It's Uni to you..mister...and i could just runaway as soon as you leave this crappy community." I asked in a smart alike tone with a huge smile on my face.

"If you do runaway...we have wanted posters in each nearby communities, town, and cities...you'll just get caught if you go anywhere."

'anywhere?' i laughed mentally as a smile spread across my face. 'apparently he doesn't know me as well as he thought...'anywhere' according to him will be a civilization. But....in my terms....anywhere was just that...anywhere.' i added to

"What are you smirking at?" the guard asked me.

"Oh...nothing...i was just thinking." I replied as i entered the tent like home.

" I can't believe they didn't let me meet the new member" I thought to myself.

Suddenly, someone just entered into my tent. It was a girl. I've never seen her face before, so I began to talk with her.

"What's your name?What you're doing here?"- I asked.

"My name is Uni..but I'm afraid I don't know what am I doing here, I've been forced to come here. I can't go anywhere, even if I want."

"Why? There must be a logical reason for that. Have you done something wrong?"- I asked.

"No, I haven't."- She replied.

During some minutes, we stayed looking at each other's face. That was strange man! But then, she began to talk about....

"What are you staring at?" i asked, throwing the stranger off guard; apparently he was expecting a different.

 

"Nothing....So why are you here?"

 

"I don't know. I don't even know what i did wrong...i thought i told you that already. Eesh man, why do you want to know anyways."

 

"Just trying to figure out why your here..."

 

"Aren't we both? besides, i don't even know your name."

 

"Name's Kharg."

 

"Interesting name."

 

"Yours is too." Kharg answered.

 

"So...where am i going to stay?"

 

"Stay? What do you mean?"

 

"The guards that had brought me here said that i had to stay here."

 

"Say Uni... where you from anyway?"

 

"Who cares where i'm from, all i know is i'm not going back."

 

"Why not?"

 

"It none of your business."

 

"It is too...if you're going to sleep in my house."

 

"House...?" i got heated up. "This..." i gestered to the inside the tent house, "is a tent, Kharg, a house is built with wood and a whole lot more then what you have here."I then walked further into the house. "the house would be in a neighborhood; with streets and a busy main street. there would be streets paved and vehicles, and...and...why am i even telling you this?" i then found a guest room, or his room, and hid myself in there to calm myself down.Once I�ve cooled, I went back out and faced him. �Sorry�I guess I was holding that anger in for awhile.�

"Ok, no problem at all." I said with a smile on the face.

"So, since when are you here?" She asked.

"I've been here since I was 15.. My family died.. It was pretty hard for me to get over it..."

"I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have asked.."

"No.. it's alright.. So, it's late, let's go sleep?" I asked.

"Okay. If we have to.. Good night"

"Yeah.. We have to.. Good night"

At that night, I didn't manage to sleep, I couldn't stop thinking about that girl.. She must be hiding something.. But I can't ask it to her.. Maybe with time, she may trust more in me, so she reveals her secret..It's finally morning.. I woke up at 7:15, and it's now 9:00, but she didn't awake yep..

last night was terrible for me, i couldn't sleep at all...staying up late thinking about, what happened...is never the best thing for me. I got up at 10:00, and realized that my host...i mean Kharg...was up and was apparently waiting for me. i'm not sure why he was...nobody from in Kanasan, ever waits for anything. if they had to wait, they would complain about it. but he wasn't complaining. i ignored his prescence and continued doing my normal morning routine that i do. once i was ready for the day, i went over to the kitchen and found something to eat. He then joined me at the table with his food and we ate in pure silence. he looked like he has something to say to me, and i probably looked like i had something on my mind. Anyways, after we ate and cleaned off the table. i sat down on the couch that was in the living room and fell back into a slouch position, realxing. Still the silence stayed....until we heard a commotion outside.
