am i the only one who thinks that square is stalling for kh3 like seriously kh2 came out in 2005 or 06 its been almost 5-6 ears and all we've got are side stories for example 358/2 days coded CoM the only one that doesnt count is BBS because that one filled in so much but i know you guys are gonna say

"well they cant make a KH3 because there busy making FF versus" or something like that but why couldnt they make during that 6 years

But seriously, The Kingdom Hearts team, the one that worked on the Original KH and KHII is currently busy with Versus XIII. They want the KH team to work on KHIII. So until its done, they cant proceed with KHIII's development. What i'm trying to figure out is...why is XIII-2 going to finish its development before Versus XIII when XIII-2 has been in development not even a quarter of the time that Versus XIII has.

 

Edit: As an after thought, i guess the problem with Versus XIII's development is the level of detail put into the game. But that just mean that we can expect KHIII to have the same love and care if not more. Currently im looking forward to E3 and maybe some clues as to what to expect for the 10th anniversary.

Because during that 6 years, they were buisy with Verses 13. They're putting alot of detail in it. It's expected to be out by 2012/2013. Which means KH3 will most likely be out by 2015/2016. It's a long ways away, but it will be worth the wait.

 

I don't really understand why so many people are so impatient about KH3. I mean, yes, we all wanna know what happens next and expect it to be an amazing game, but think about it. KH3 will be the last game in the Xehanort Saga. Who knows how long it'll be before the next Saga starts. Do you guys really want this saga to end that badly? Personally I like all these other games that have been coming out, as they flush the story out more. I know some people call them "side games", but to me there's no such thing. Every KH game adds to the story, and they're all important.

@tomtom: You'd think that, but the series is maturing in a lot of ways and plenty of dark, irreversible things happen. Even in the first game, I went 'woah, isn't this a little dark for a Disney game?' but then I realized that most Disney things are in fact kind of dark. It's hard to name Disney characters that still have both their parents.

 

Take a moment to go watch a Disney movie you haven't seen since you were really little. Watch it by yourself without friends or family around and really let it sink in. I actually think I teared up during Beauty and the Beast and that's not something I would have done if I hadn't been alone. It was like watching it for the first time, but from the perspective of my current age. There are also lots of adult jokes you just wouldn't catch as a kid in those movies.

 

Point here is: We won't outgrow Kingdom Hearts. We'll laugh to our friends and say we have, but, it'll always have a place in our hearts. I don't know about you, but I didn't even get into Kingdom Hearts on the first wave of its fandom. It was someone introducing me into it that made me look into at all. Disney was behind me at 16, but I then realized that there's some major stress relief that comes with beating up bad guys I was afraid of when I was -six- with something as ridiculous as a giant key.

 

And now I'm 20. Birth by Sleep showed maturity that I appreciated seeing. I don't know how younger fans feel about playing Terra and Aqua but I imagine it's the same as ten year olds watching the shows on the Disney channel that focus around teenagers in highschool: older characters act as role models. Kids can feel mature, and those of falling into adulthood can take the time to feel young again.

 

When and if we finally see an older Sora, how will we even react? Will he be tall? Will he actually look handsome? We expect him to stay this dorky little carefree kid forever, as if he is a symbol for our own inner child. But by the end of KH2 he's emotionally no longer a child. All the serious, life threatening situations he's been in and the friends he's lost and nearly lost, are really doing a number on Sora.

 

Seeing the younger model of Sora for 3DS is something, and I can't wait for the official explanation. Psychologically, they must realize what keeping us working with a younger Sora does to us as fans. We can't grow up until Sora does. That's the hook.

 

The news is really slow right now and it feels like forever... have patience, it'll be worth it. It's also just another way of pulling you in.

Actually there is no side game in kh , only kh mobile the game that have agrabah ,malefcent forest ans these stuff , else thatn that r not a side games

The games they have made in the last 6 years have been filling in the story line. They couldn't have just given us kh3 3 years ago, and expect us to know anything about what's going on. It shouldn't be long now untill kh3 comes out though.

Why is it taking this long to make the game, you ask? Well, it's a PS3 game. And the PS3 holds tremendous power. Thus, with so much power, it takes a lot of time for Square to work with it all and make the game. They have to design the story, the characters, the character designs, as well as the realistic graphics and the surroundings, plus, knowing Square Enix, it's bound to be a long game with lots of hidden items and objects of which the developing team has to decide WHERE to put it in the game after all. This time of game can't be completed in one year. Takes a long time! Extremely long time! Why can't Square work on Versus XIII and KH3 at the same time, you ask? Well, cause their pooped! With that much work, I wouldn't be surprised if they collapsed at the end of the day! Heck, I even read somewhere that Tetsuya Nomura gives spending up time with his family for work! These are people too! You can't just expect them to work like slaves so they can dish out a game for you to play in your spare time! Gasp gasp...

 

And what ABOUT KH3?! Why does everyone want it so much! Why does everyone want the Xehanort Saga to end so quickly?! What, you want cha PS3 graphics?! You want cha main games?! What difference does it make if it's a main game or a side game?! They're all important to the series. People aren't giving 358/2 Days and Coded their credit! These are great, fun games that have as much importance as any other games, and they introduce new characters and plotlines that are crucial to the series! So what if these games didn't come out? What would KH3 be about? THESE games are what is going to make KH3 so awesome! These games because they add things to the storyline to all be resolved in the final chapter! So anyone who says that these games are NOT important and that Square is milking the series has got another thing coming! As long as they add something to the series, I don't care HOW many more non-KH3 games there are! They all gon' make it awesome in the end!
